  1. Put an @ symbol in front of their name
  2. In what way? ((edit)never mind. I just saw that you don't have a Thai bank account, so Wise isn't really for you anyway...)
  3. The current year is 2024. I'm not going out of my way to give a business my money if they aren't going to offer the service online. But yes... it does appear, from the content of the thread so far at least, that your analysis is correct.
  4. Obviously when there's "not much difference" in price, you'd always choose business. What's your point? Generally, however, premium economy is less than double the price of an economy seat, where as business class is often 3 or 4 times the cost of an economy seat. In which case, there's a much bigger decision to be made.
  5. Do you have any evidence to suggest that the perpetrators of this crime came in visa exempt?
  6. I don't think it's much to do with farang vs Thai. This is a religious exemption, not a race based one. If a farang was following this (what appears to be well-established) procedure in order to make merit, I doubt there'd be much fuss, so long as there was evidence of them actually being buddhist. Similarly, should a Thai strip off and run around a 7/11 store, I imagine there would indeed be a bunch of angry netzines kicking up a fuss.
  7. I didn't get anybody. I booked online. I wasn't searching for comfort seats with Ethihad, anyway. I was offered the chance to bid for one a couple of weeks before the flight was due, and was granted one for 2000bt on a London to Bangkok flight which was a pretty sweet deal. Following on from that I tried to actually specifically book a second seat with a couple of different airlines, but I didn't find an option on the websites at the times.
  8. How could the OP know that? He didn't have a pair of suitable glasses 🤓.
  9. Most airlines certainly do not offer this service. Certainly none of the ones I tried. Etihad offered me the option to bid for a "comfort seat" once, but this option was only available as an after-purchase service. I guess they only do it close to the departure date, and if they're sure the seat won't be sold. And you don't need to be even remotely fat, let alone a bloater, to feel uncomfortable in the ridiculously narrow seats on the average long-haul flights.
  10. It doesn't matter how many years he's been active. @TorquayFan very well may have had better things to do with his time than browsing AseanNOW when that particular story developed. I don't understand how this forum can generate so many nasty, cynical, smart-ass replies to such a simple question from a fellow member!
  11. At a temple it's called making merit. Anywhere else, it's called indecent exposure 🤷🏻‍♂️.
  12. There seems to be, yes. I think it all started just after the story of a Thai doctor being thumped in the back.
  13. Because you named the thread "Question for English teachers".
  14. ...Asean Now and YouTube are a subset of the internet. @dingdongrb's comment was fine.
  15. I'm no expert in business, but I'd have a guess that these places "prosper" (as you put it) by selling to people who aren't generally struggling to pay for food.
  16. I don't know if regulations require a test before a flight or not. If tests are required before take off, do you have any evidence to suggest that the step was skipped?? I think the suggestion from the story is that the pilot consumed the alcohol while in the air.
  17. Yes currency fluctuations are indeed influenced by many contributary factors. However a 20% drop is not a fluctuation, especially if there's no immediate bounce back. A 20% drop is a crash. And while these can be caused by a combination of many factors, the crash that followed the referendum happened as a direct consequence of the referendum's result. There were no other influences.
  18. I'm not moaning. I'm simply answering the question you asked, and offered a theory as to why it may not have affected you. I am more than happy to honour your request to not bother telling you how, but anybody who receives their income in GBP should be able to work it out for themselves, anyway.
  19. A 20% reduction in disposable income was a pretty significant thing for me to suffer, personally. Maybe it didn't impact your life, though. Maybe you're one of the wealthy who can afford Brexit.
  20. I've read your link and can't find any mention of people not understanding the very simple concept that you'll have more money if you spend less.
  21. We're looking for a report of somebody being denied at immigration and then waiting in holding for 30 days until they can use their pre-booked flight out of the same airport. Your link does not cover that eventuality. To be fair it does suggest (without citations as far as I recall) that you would be given time to make alternative arrangements - in which case a pre-booked flight is not really an advantage, anyway.
  22. You know it's going to be a totally pointless article if they need to force autoplay to get you to see the video. Who would have thought that if you spend less money, you'd have more left over?..
