Absolutely! We live in a time where people do not know the effects of these serious diseases because they have been stopped by vaccines and antibiotics. The mother of my best friend in middle school wore leg braces her entire life. She had spent part or her high school time in an iron lung. We have forgotten just how horrible it can be.
