Drive-through car tax with car inspection certificate
cjinchiangrai replied to Wiggy's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
We have a small inspection station about 2km away and they do the inspection and tax payment while you wait. It takes about 5 minutes. -
A lot of good points here. There are a few laws that could solve a lot though. 1. You must have residence papers to apply for a visa at one of the consulates. 2. Your visa extension must be from the office that matches your drivers license. 3. Once you leave after an extension, you need to stay out for thirty days. 4. Automatic bank notifications of the monthly bank account balance. 5. Produce work permits on demand. Any other ideas?

Even the ladyboys are an overblown risk. Too many purported chain snatchings on Indian tourists. -
You can just replace the battery. There are two sizes. Available from Lazada for a few hundred baht.

Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws

Maybe start by enforcing the current rules first. Bounce the border bouncers and arrest the backdoor agents. Then start on reforming which visas they would like to offer. -
Moving from AIS to DTAC while keeping existing number
cjinchiangrai replied to XGM's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
My wife just did this. You need to get AIS to release the number so DTAC can pick it up. I for get the details but it starts at AIS. AIS is OK but their customer service is terrible. -
Travelling BKK-LHR with EVA AIR
cjinchiangrai replied to TorquayFan's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I would not use EVA, on this route only because the flight to Taipei is heading the wrong direction. You are adding time for nothing. I recently flew Turkish Air to Europe, it was pretty nice and great food. A-330 in a 2-4-2 configuration. -
Anyone have any experience with Redmi phones?

They are competent mid/low range Android phones that work well. OPPOs use very good cameras for a reasonable price. -

Ihm just curious: pricing at government hospitals
cjinchiangrai replied to DUS's topic in Health and Medicine
I go to the local clinic every three months. It takes about three hours to go through the cycle and costs about 1500 baht including three months of meds. They are very nice. What is interesting to me is how they have arranged the system. Monday is weekend trauma leftovers. Tuesday is Obstetrics, Wednesday is diabetes, Thursday is vaccinations and community health.... The specialists come in to treat the whole area on their topic. It actually makes sense. The most critical thing for us as consumers is to understand if our malady is typical or not. It may be our only heart attack but it is not the only one for the cardiologist. If you do not need a super specialist, try the government hospital. Another point, ask if your meds are the same ones the locals are getting. I reduced my meds bill by 10k a month by using the locally supplied products. Exact same care without a brand name. -
