  1. They did not even glance at my IDP. Everything was based on my real drivers license. It was an easy enough process. The IDP is simply a translation and has zero value as a legal document. It say right in the book that it has no validity without the original license.
  2. Some sort of temperature variance caused the glass to break. It is rare but it happens. As for the American question, the US uses half the voltage. Maybe the higher power caused it to heat too quickly?
  3. EVisas are online so I would look on the internet. You can get 30 days with a US passport without a visa. You can also extend for an additional 30 days for 1900 baht and some paperwork.
  4. But that is a big part of it. The handlers had trouble turning them off and getting the dogs to release people.
  5. Couple this with a chart on prevalence by breed and it is even more impressive. Pit Bulls are a small percentage of the population but a massive percentage of injuries. Retrievers dwarf all other breeds by population but injuries are tiny. Police have moved away from Rottweilers as well due to their unstable temperament.
  6. If you want it sorted, require all dog owners to have liability insurance. The actuaries at the insurance companies will price pit bulls out of the market in short order. Then collect and dispose of any untagged soi dogs. They are a menace.
  7. The science on that is pretty clear, and agreed upon by those that know what they are talking about.
  8. Those minivans are a menace to everyone. Hyper-aggressive drivers, operating at untenable speeds, at the behest of greedy owners. I am nervous sharing the roads with them.
  9. Because they are not trainable like German Shepherds, Beagles and Labradors.
  10. You do know that Neil Young is Canadian, right?
  11. Please read Thomas Paine and get back to us on that.
  12. That has to be the Europeans wearing socks with sandals. There is no shortage of trashy Americans too though.
  13. Just renewed this morning and got the 5 years for cars and bikes. They were fine with the Elite visa and the Yellow book for my residence. They added my ID card for their data. I have to go to the main office in Chiang Rai for an IDP. I will also get a 5 year IDP independently. About 800 baht all in including multiple copies of my documents. So ~400 baht for a single license.
  14. I had done the 90 day anyway but registering the car and bike was easy enough. I got 4 residence letters and did the vehicles and licenses at the same time, Now I have to go renew ????
  15. The AQI can vary a lot over the course of the day. The government tends to report the most recent measurement but other sites may do average sampling over a period of time. You can argue over which provides the most accurate assessment. I would not want averages over more than an hour or so but the instantaneous reading can be deceptive too.
  16. Volunteer with a real NGO and then plan on doing real work for them.
  17. Anyone that can afford an Iphone has a computer. Try the on switch.
  18. Not true. The Thai airline clerks and security people read Thai just fine. What they struggle with is English. Nobody has ever rejected my ID card in Thailand.
  19. You will need a TM30 for your extension. Since you left, your old one is no longer valid.
  20. Go to Bang Saen, Nice beach area, no working girls. A way better family choice.
  21. zzzzz is correct. Let the sources of income deposit into an account in the US, then transfer the amount you need into your Thai account each month. It does not need to be direct deposited from the source.
  22. The holidays are coming and cash is a little tight. The gogos will be offering bonuses to disrupt the competition.
