  1. I hope this isn't the direction of this site. Advocating posting pictures of girls to judge whether they are overweight. The site can have some fun, banter, and titillation but needs to maintain some dignity too. Personal opinion. Happy to be told I am at the wrong site for me.
  2. I think Pence was an inspired choice in 2016 for Trump for the obvious reason that there were a lot of people who wanted change, but they could hedge their bets, knowing the no. 2 is a nice normal conservative politician. What I've seen of Ramaswamy, he seems fairly quick and agile, but too hard line and unlikeable. I think 1 + 1 rabble rouser politicians is not likely lead to success as the hollowness of their words, and what they stand for, will become fairly clearly apparent. Need Ying and Yang not too Yangs. Though a smaller hard core group would love it. Haley seems the best so far though too mainstream for the modern Republican. Women seem to still find it hard to get across the line too. Christie in 2023 is pretty good but anyone in the past who helped and supported Trump strongly like he did, at time when there was no doubt about Trump's shortcomings, has to have limited morals and or courage and or brains in my opinion. But in 2023 alone he is pretty good, and is up front about seeing the writing on the wall for Trump's future based on his legal woes, ready for when he falls by the wayside. Come on Joe, you've done a good job, I worry your wife is convincing you that you have 5 more years as a politician in you but please see that the time is right to plan the next chapter of your life and let a new Democrat generation take control.
  3. Bit of fun. Escapism. Different to the rock and pop I am used to. Cute as hell. Crayon Pop. Hyuna. Fun.
  4. I get the criticism of a few posters but I find those topics often have something interesting to say within them even if the way they are delivered can seem a bit trivial or tedious. The good thing about a forum is if you were actually at a pub, you would have to find a way to be polite and excuse yourself from certain ramblings, but here you can read something else or go for a walk in the sun. I find moderation fine but I don't tend to say controversial things to get noticed. There's a fine line between deleting tedious bickering on the one hand but leaving some entertaining heated discussions. The latter can be where people let down their guard and show themselves and can be fun. Some are good at banter and that can be more interesting than the same old comments about perceived corruption or tourism statistics.
  5. Took me a while to work it out. Since I don't put people on ignore hard not to see your comment.
  6. You have such a wonderful way with words and so often manage to attempt to make a point and put down the poster at the same time. Is it not a reasonable point to suggest a woman might have more of a concern living with a man in Pattaya than say a small town in Issan or the south of England. Try not to extrapolate beyond what is said. Trying to make people feel bad because they think differently to you seems to be your thing and it is boring.
  7. I agree but the temptation for you must be a bit of a strain for her. Maybe she doesn't care as long as you keep it separate. Or maybe you don't go there.
  8. I wonder if you are not sitting at your computer desk with a cup of tea and wife in the next room who you love dearly and with whom you will share a sherry before bed time.
  9. The picture you showed is at least 20 years ago. Could be that the equivalent of that type of person in 2023 listens to GANGSTA rap or something like the Australian Hill Top Hoods, calls each other Bro, and drinks scotch and coke mixers or something stronger. Not much flannels and beer amongst the young.
  10. I think a bogan isn't simply say an unemployed dope smoker or whatever. I associate bogans as being active, fun, cars skillful with hands. Many of those are doing well. I don't see many old time bogans but maybe less in Melbourne.
  11. It has to be noted that is an 80's or 90's bogan - different kettle of fish now as noted in a different thread. Many have lots of money, best cars and renovated houses, and are less distinctive or different from others now. A coffee shop where the so called cool people went used to be a rarity - now they are on every corner and bogans and everyone else are the customers. Except me - don't like coffee.
  12. EON FM or MMM TAB Fosters Car Park Boogie by TISM Hunters and Collectors - not the cool early stuff but the lame later stuff
  13. To feel like a bogan turn up 'It's a long way to the top' and feel the inner bogan come to the surface.
  14. Some of Bignok's language is a little bit boganish but I don't consider him a bogan. The classic bogan I think of is from the 80's or 90's with a mullet, rough, swearing, tend to work in physical jobs, mad about cars and outdoor pursuits such as driving said cars in the bush, but mainly drinking a lot e.g. say a slab of VB if you know what that is. They'll love Aussie bands like Cold Chisel. A true bogan is not likely to spend a lot of time chatting on a forum. Bogan's got revenge, as a lot are tradies who now make crazy amounts of money compared to us in the office, the common term being cashed up bogans. They are now into the most stylish attempts of renovations on their properties, eat the best food and coffees, and generally live large. Those that smirked at bogans have to think again. The bogans are winning.
  15. I would think the best way to deal with this is look beyond the words and see if they care about you and each other in general. If someone has a big problem and they look at their phone and don't care then that's bad. But hopefully when push comes to shove they do care and simply don't like small talk and pleasantries.
  16. I am a bit of a chocolate freak despite my silly user name. I give you Exhibit A. Cadbury's and Whitaker's used to be the same size at 250 gram. Bit by bit Cadbury's has decreased from 250 to 180 while Whittaker's stayed the same. In Exhibit B there are chocolates that kept the same size being Lindt and Moser Roth. The third Green and Black went down to 90 gram which you could argue is now a chocolate bar rather than a chocolate block.
  17. Saw a tradie on a road work site and thought how old he looked ... but I thought I am sure he's happier with blokes on site than sitting in his lounge room with his wife hovering nearby .. but then there's Thailand
  18. You note this a bit. What's the theory? Robots. Paid staff.
  19. I think it may be a copy of the cowboy from Red Dead Redemption.
  20. True that. My plan is to spend 6 months in each country but I do ask myself what I will do with myself for 6 months in Australia unless I travel around. Whereas I feel Thailand can fill my time much easier. Even a thai shopping centre seems more fun than an Australian one.
  21. The two things I take to Thailand when I go on holidays are sunscreen and chocolate. Decent chocolate.
  22. Suppose most who went that way aren't hanging around to tell the story
  23. You would have liked Yinn. She was fun and entertaining. Many felt the same as she was the final Poster of the Year. There are curmudgeon Thais who don't like farangs and curmudgeon farangs who don't like Thai's. Or think that Thai's don't like them. Or something.
