The truth?
Like the fact that women do not have a penis? That type of truth?
Or the Markle/Oprah “your truth” type of truth?
Or the type of truth that Gervais spoke at the Oscars while Hanks got all offended from the crowd?
All 3 are more about feelings than science. You are not likely to get doctors or scientists talking about such issues except the first one where they may consider a broader definition is appropriate due to sociological research and such. In the Gervais example I think he didn’t like a put down about Tim Allen. Totally different issue. I find Tom Hanks interesting as he is interesting in interviews but many of his movies don’t do it for me. Forrest Gump seemed silly though I could only watch a little bit.

So if the Republicans win the election it will be unfair and undemocratic , but if the Democrats win, then the elections would have been fair and democratic ?
This is regarding the next election
If he wins he wins but it would be nice for you to acknowledge given an objective look at the facts that, based on his inability to accept democratic outcomes so far, there is a huge threat of the same and worse in a second term. That that would be a serious concern. Maybe you have acknowledged this.

I think some of these right winger extremists were a bit like Trump. Not accepting the democratic process, ie the election results, but kind of half assed and not smart about doing something about it. I think some of these right wingers would be sitting in jail genuinely shocked that it came to this. It was part an attempt to overturn the election and part game. But they did in fact do the crime and now have to do the time.

I remember insulting clients/customers ever being in any job description I ever signed.
There’s a simple fix, fire them.
The workers United shall never be defeated. What if she had 10 years as an employee, few sick days, well regarded, filled shifts when required. Then makes a fairly tame joke. Possibly had a bad day. Give her a training session on polite behaviour and put her back in the frey of what likely often is a pretty painful job to have.

If you look at productreview.com.au there are pages and pages of similar stories to yours. All with one star reviews. I thought Jetstar weren’t the best but nothing like this. I used to fly with them a decade ago but it looks like now they are completely beyond the pale.

Chang is very different than it was back in the day, and it was stronger, in the brown bottles.
Nothing wrong with Varity in beer to chose from, I'm all for it.
But Beer snobs, No thank you. they are a terrible bore to be around.
Thai low quality beer is no different from the low quality beer sold all round the world.
I agree. It’s not about having to drink those brews from a Belgian monastery for $20 a bottle. Some of the beers I like still don’t rate that well on some of those sites that rate beers. Would be nice to have a bigger range at a fair price similar to Australia. No big wine tax too.

What should beer taste like ?
Should have a fullness to it and broad taste rather than beer flavoured water as someone else put it well. I used to like Chang long time ago but it seemed to change and become generic at some point.

What like VB
Not a fan of CUB beers. I like Goat and Coopers and Mornington for normal priced beers. Tastes like beer.

The problem is beer snobs.
You might have got used to it. Here on holiday and it really is poor compared to so many Australian beers.

Candle festival 2 August in Ubon is charming. Can go to temples and surrounds in days leading up and see people busily preparing the bits and pieces to go on the huge wax structures. Big parade probably happiest and most natural I have seen Thai people.

1 - I find Agoda cheap. Cant see how TA helps. Compare price with booking.com. Or ask for room discount if direct by paying 3 nights or more.
2 - Buy coffee from 7/11 and make in room. Buy bananas from market to have for breakfast or snack.
3 - take excess toilet paper, toothpaste, soap and shampoo from hotel.
4 - travel low season.
5 - download airasia, scoot apps. Check for specials.
6 - look for insurance specials via comparison sites. Use codes.
7 - use Bolt for transfers.
8- travel by train. Super cheap if fan carriages.
In relation to Agoda it is now chaotic in terms of prices. You can search 10 minutes apart and get different prices. A week later can be a fair bit different.
It will be say $100 if go Agoda direct but if search the hotel by a travel site, or search engine such as google, the price by Agoda will be cheaper often by at least 10 per cent than direct. Probably because they are competing. There is an additional trick where you can book with hotels.com and pay a higher price but then send a screenshot of Agoda and they price match. Then hotels.com give a free night for every ten nights booked. Only worth it for long holidays.
For travel insurance get the Bankwest credit card that has no annual fee and covers you for I think three months decent insurance at a time. Free. Also no fee for buying with foreign exchange compared to 3 or 4 per cent for many cards.

Tips for Australian tourists in Thailand
1 Subscribe to Jetstar newsletter and get return tickets for around $450. Last flight perfectly on time same other airlines.
2 Book accomodation via TripAdvisor and then Agoda. Seems obvious but going this way rather than other sites or direct to Agoda can save 50 per cent. Agoda much cheaper than others now for some reason. Some say ring hotel direct but doesn’t work for me.
3 Consider low season travel. Khao Lak in May has been lovely with nice weather. Good for Australians as winter time. I burn easily and don’t like sunshine all the time.
4 Pick big hotel with excellent buffet breakfast. Then only need a small nightly meal.
5 I like good chocolate. Bring from home.
All a bit obvious but friends are going to Bali spending 4 times as much for similar hotel and relatively expensive fares etc. South of the equator so high season.

I like Chantaburi and Ubon as practical towns with charm here and there. Chaing Rai in 1985 seemed nice. Phuket town has some nice areas with mix of lovingly tarted up older buildings but still a fair few almost derelict buildings. Walked through this big old fifties hotel the other day that is no longer a hotel. Big foyer, broken down lifts and totally run down, with 10 residents hanging in there. Seemed a bit of that amongst the nice restored hotels and restaurants.

And about pretty girls with braces: Would you prefer old women with missing teeth? I am sure there is some forum for those kinds of pictures, and maybe you want to join that. I stay with cute girls. Sometimes with and sometimes without braces - and no monkey business.
Creepy and mean spirited for a guy to take the time to say that this lady, who is pretty but that’s beside the point, should be happy to get attention from anyone let alone an ape. Not funny. If you can’t see that then I’ll leave it there.

You do sometimes have a way of making a fun topic a bit creepy. I sometimes wonder if we could see the ASEAN Now posters it might double the creepy factor. Maybe you are appalling to look at yourself posting pictures of teens in braces and pontificating on the likes of this nice looking lady.

My tip is write your post. Complete with a couple of 60’s songs or whatever. But before pressing submit delete the last two thirds. The topic is in the first third but then you feel it necessary to go here and go there etc. I had a 25 year old fridge and when I replaced it I was shocked how much the electric bill went down. Message is not everything is getting more disposable and crappy . Some things like televisions and computers and cars get better and better. Faster. Cheaper. More efficient. Cup half full.

He's been a boon to comedians I imagine. All the material that's just been written for them free.
Writers all on strike. No fun with Maher, Kimmel, Colbert etc for a while. I actually saw a few minutes of the lead up to Comers comments last week or so on Fox. They had a countdown clock and everything. Shocker.

Suggest one in one hundred actually meet the definition. Certainly not me. Work for the government as a public servant. Lone wolves more likely to be the Thai girls waiting for a lost sheep from ASEAN Now to separate itself from the flock and there’s dinner.

I don't know why you make up lies about what others have seen.
Had relatives in old people's homes. There were people over 90yo. At least 40% were fat.
A key point would be were they fat or obese throughout their life or a bit overweight towards the end which is probably somewhat natural. If they were obese from youth continuously over decades there would have to be a significant less chance of making it to 90 unless big changes made.
On salt it is a bit off topic as not causing obesity but it seems to me many eat huge quantities way above that they can get rid of from dealing with normal heat. Need serious exercise to get rid of that.

John Candy looked happy to me. Robert Deniro looks angry.
I don’t know. Playing the loveable fool might have left him a bit melancholy. Many of the best comedians seem to struggle. Robert De Niro seems to have fun. Still active taking on political fools and getting some love action.

Come on how much you bench 10kgs or 5kgs?
I think seriously skinny and fat people may be prone to certain issues but surely you would agree that most people with a big heavy body are less likely to be happy than those who are slim or a little bit fat. Some big guys can bench press impressively and throw a decent punch so they have some power sometimes but not sure that is linked to happiness or health.

My Aunty took the plunge and loves it. Left her Sydney house and followed her artistic dreams through China and has lived for 10 years in Lisbon as a professional artist. Lifestyle seems relaxed and fun. Culture to burn of course. You can live your dream rather than waxing lyrical to burnt out types on this forum. Nice to have mainly warm weather with some cooler or cold thrown in. You get sick of anything and I imagine you’d be sick of Thailand truth be told so cant go wrong I think.

Nothing wrong with salty fatty stuff. I lost 15 kg eating lashings of cheese, which is 35 - 40% fat.
OTOH, I avoided sugar, processed food, and high carbohydrate vegetables and grains, which all hydrolyze in the stomach to sugars.
When I did that, my liver commenced burning fat instead of sugar, hence the weight loss.
Last night I was at the market in Phuket town and had some fatty fried pork which hit the spot but I do see a lot eating deep fried salty meals and snacks and other meals deep in black soy and fish sauces. That is ok in moderation but I think not as a regular thing and isn’t the same as what your talking about I think.

Khao Lak is nice at the moment. You gave it a go. Sometimes good to admit you’re not into culture and temples as much as you thought and get to the beach.
