Thai Pass quandary
internationalism replied to Will B Good's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
cancel AQ asap and book with same hotel T&G. They can do it, even if on websites (agoda etc) they can't offer it yet. You can try to get TP for T&G from 1.02 9am, but small chance. They would let you in on a valid TP for AQ. They scan it and it shows it's valid. I have shown them QR cod for a TP exactly a month ahead, for a future flight - they haven't spotted anything wrong at health check, neither at immi (she did scan it, but looked at) -
i am not medical professional, but I know a lot about those medicines. Read net, talk to professionals and patients. I do also do take all those medicines. Read a leaflet about albendazol. When self-medicating, no any symptoms, no tests, diagnosis just 1 pill every few months is sufficient as prophylaxis. Yes, can have numerous side effects. In cases when it has to be used for long, each cycle should be done after liver enzyme tests. On gut flora it works as antibiotics do - weakens your immune system if taken needlessly. Mebendazol should be used as first medicine, works similarly, but stays only in a digestive tract, doesn't burden kidneys, liver.

if there is no any suspicion having any parasites you should not take the strongest medicine in such high dose and for so many days. Don't do the second cycle. If you have already pill's do keep them when you really need them, they have long expiry dates. if you live in bangkok 15 years you still might use anti-parasite medications to see, how you will react to each one. Strong reaction would indicate medicine is effective. In about month time get up to 500mg mebendazole. A few weeks after niclosamide 4 pills. Another few weeks praziquantel 1 pill, after a week or two 3 pills. At the end ivermectin 2 pills. Note down reaction after each medicine. That would be useful to pass to a specialist doctor, before doing laboratory tests. Each of them works on different parasites and in a different way. Often there is no other way to find out what parasites we might have, but by testing reaction to each medicine.

Test & Go (2x RT-PCR)
internationalism replied to ThaiVisaCentre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
previosly there was no requirement for 3 meals. Most of the budget hotels were offering just breakfast or one chosen meal. I think there was also one hotel without any meals. paying hotel some 500b for a few minutes drive on the 5th day is a rip off. I would rather drive my own car or take taxi for 100b, than use hotel transport. Cheaper and less risky. Remember, that these same drivers go constantly to airport and they are always late, by 30-45 minutes (in all my experience) - even if they know exact timing and are urged to hurry up. the whole exercise looks like money grabbing -
Arrested for not wearing a mask in Phuket
internationalism replied to tsk3009's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
you should offer him 50b for a mask, even one from his face. Much less, than 3500b in fines, hurting back, night at pigs house and day in dodgy courts, deportation order within 7 days on Tuesday and blacklist for a year -
lucky they have allowed you to self-isolate at some random hotel. For what they wanted to charge you 100-200k? Obligatory is 10 days hospital/hospitel, even if asymptomatic. Might let you go for self-isolation after the PCR on day 7th. Entirely to doctor, based on symptoms, age, underlying and how much they are overstretched. Your ATK/lateral don't count. You have to do PCR, but they don't accept it also - your 10 days self-isolation or quarantine runs from the first positive test. Again, if you keep in touch with them and completely asymptomatic (has to be confirmed by at least health volunteer checking daily on your symptoms), they might let you go earlier. Keep in touch with them to get recovery certificate. Would allow you domestic and international travel for a minimum 90 days, even if positive.

not in bangkok. "A motorbike driver in the northern Thai province of Uthai Thani has died from injuries he sustained after he drove into a utility pole. Witnesses said they saw a face mask covering the motorbike driver’s eyes and they believe it obstructed his vision, causing the crash." https://thethaiger.com/news/national/motorbike-death-believed-to-be-caused-by-face-mask -

yes, the pacific is thai. They are the cheapest and do cover seniors. Always go by the agent. Dealing directly with insurer might be less successful -

Drive while on overstay
internationalism replied to Tayida's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
in the border area in trat (just before turning to koh chang) there is a permanent check point. On top of checking my DL they have also asked to see passports of all passengers. That was once in a very many times. On minivan to aranyaprathet there is also permanent check point and checking all passengers passports. Once I was asked at bangkok terminal of mahachai train line, I have explained I left it at hotel. They were checking IDs for all on the platform, possibly looking for illegal cambodians. They were local station cops, not immi -

Old VS New Test and Go Day 5 Question
internationalism replied to LP80's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
if you will apply for T&G from 1st february you will need to book also the 5th night and test. Hotel can be SHA++, doesnt have to be AQ -
you need 2 jabs. your recovery certificate might save you 10 days hospital/hospitel, if your result is positive. If you do have 1 jab plus recovery you can use it for 90 days, but airlines might have an issue with it. If you dont have any jabs it's7 days AQ hotel

arresting for mask doesn't make any sense. There is no any law and the opposite is advised - dont wear mask whilst driving -

no, wearing mask on motorbike is not compulsory. It's outright dangerous to do so, drivers lost their lives when mask moved into their eyes, blinding them. You were stopped for speeding, not wearing helmet, braking road rules, but not for mask.- 160 replies

Old VS New Test and Go Day 5 Question
internationalism replied to LP80's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
as for the 1st night SHA ++ is required, and same for the 5th night. No need for AQ or any other. In your case, on an old T&G, you are not under the new rules -

Drive while on overstay
internationalism replied to Tayida's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
if they ask for passport show them copy and air ticket. Tell them passport is at embassy and will be delivered to the airport before flight -
test results do vary, from a very few h to some 28h. if they take from an airport to hospital, testing starts fast. Some hotels test at certain times or test on arrival, but send samples to laboratory only 1-3x daily. You should ask about this before booking. also worth to ask if transport is private or in group. Some scammers want up to 2k for private. Some claim the law allows them group transport, which is a lie. Most important now is check which hospital do testing and how much they charge for 10 days asymptomatic. Minimum is 8k, up to 30k. Piyavate suppose to have the lowest at 80-100k, but it's the second hand info, given by hotel reception, so no reliable. Hospital refuses to give any quotation whatsoever - they say at each hotel there is their nurse and she will do calculation. Sounds scammy

Living in BKK, where to go a few days?
internationalism replied to pabloporn's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
kanchanaburi town, floating hotels. Many attractions within 30km for daily tours (motorbike, pickup). You can get there, and further, to naam tok, by train. 2x per day -
nothing surprising. the elephant tickets are not new to police force. They are operational for tens of years, but revealed in parliament only a year ago during the censure debate by MP from future forward mr Rome. Tickets start from 5mln bht and guarantee and status of untouchable, above any low. The more they pay the faster career is

but there is no thailand reopening - just another compulsory night was added on day five and followed by the second pcr test. SHA++ hotel is minimum 1200b, AQ hotel more. So if you are positive you are whisked by ambulance to hospital for 100-300k asymptomatic hospitalisation from your own pocket, because most international (and even thai) insurance won' cover it. Chances of getting positive is now 20% (based on phuket data from 2 pcrs). The meaning of Test&Go is now completely missing
