  1. Israel: Palestinian armed groups must be held accountable for deliberate civilian killings, abductions and indiscriminate attacks Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups flagrantly violated international law and displayed a chilling disregard for human life by carrying out cruel and brutal crimes including mass summary killings, hostage-taking, and launching indiscriminate rocket attacks into Israel, Amnesty International said today. With evidence still emerging of the horrors that unfolded in southern Israel, Amnesty International will continue its investigations in order to determine the full range of crimes under international law. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/10/israel-palestinian-armed-groups-must-be-held-accountable-for-deliberate-civilian-killings-abductions-and-indiscriminate-attacks/
  2. Not sure the Israelis would agree with that.
  3. You claimed there was no evidence. Amnesty has condemned both sides in this conflict and produced evidence against both of them. Do we really have to wait until an official tribunal is held before what is decided is evidence? What standard do you propose?
  4. And of what relevance is that fact to the issues at hand?
  5. And engaging with facts is what you don't do.
  6. This was predictable and predicted. Going forward I think it will undermine European support for Israel's Gaza campaign.
  7. Because criticism of Israel = support of Hamas?
  8. "The body of evidence reviewed by Amnesty International indicates that Israel has used white phosphorus smoke artillery shells during an attack on the southern border town of Dhayra, a populated civilian area. Amnesty International’s Crisis Evidence Lab verified videos and photos showing the use of white phosphorous smoke artillery shells in Dhayra on 16 October. Amnesty International researchers interviewed the Mayor of Dhayra, a resident of Dhayra, a first responder who facilitated the transfer of injured civilians to a nearby hospital and an emergency doctor working in the hospital which received the injured civilians." https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/10/lebanon-evidence-of-israels-unlawful-use-of-white-phosphorus-in-southern-lebanon-as-cross-border-hostilities-escalate/#:~:text=The Israeli army fired artillery,2023%2C Amnesty International said today.
  9. The lack of protest on the part of those 0-14 year olds is shocking. As for the rest, given that once Hamas was in power it hasn't allowed elections, might be a reason that there hasn't been much protest. It's not as though Hamas is reluctant to use violence when challenged.
  10. I'm not a big fan of peking duck but the chinese restaurant at Shanri-La serves a version with crispy skin.
  11. Gaza Strip Demographics Profile 42.54 of those Gazans deserving little sympathy were born after those elections. Another 21.67 of those deserving little sympathy were anywhere from 0 to 8 years old. That's a total of over 64% of Gazan deserving little sympathy. Not to mention some of those in 25-54 years cohort.
  12. There's also this. It's from a press release issued by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee chaired by Rep Comer At today’s hearing on “The Basis for an Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.,” House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) detailed how overwhelming evidence shows President Joe Biden lied to the American people about his knowledge of and participation in his family’s corrupt international and domestic business schemes. https://oversight.house.gov/release/comer-mountain-of-evidence-reveals-joe-biden-abused-his-public-office-for-his-familys-financial-gain/
  13. And given your penchant for putting members on IGNORE, even after I post this you probably still won't be. One day after the bombshell reversal in Hunter Biden’s federal plea deal, a Republican congressman has provided an update on the GOP's efforts to pursue impeachment against President Joe Biden. "The evidence is overwhelming, the nail's in the coffin" Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., said on "Mornings with Maria" Thursday. https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/gop-lawmaker-biden-impeachment-evidence-overwhelming
  14. Well, if you think that the current Tory government is the UK, then you have a point. Although, I did express approval of said government on a few occasion for their support of offshore wind power. Anyway, I will confess that, bizarrely enough, I personally don't believe that the UK and the Tories are identical. I can only assume that you're trying to make this personal because you haven't actually got any facts to muster against what I've posted.
  15. "More than half a century after the British Empire entered its endgame, historians are nowhere near a full assessment of the carnage shrouded by its preacherly cant, and, later, by administrators’ bonfires of documents as they prepared for the last boat out. The richest sense we have of the damage inflicted on colonies tends to come in regional silos. Elkins doggedly links them, moving from South Africa to India, Ireland to Palestine, and on to Malaya, Kenya, Cyprus, and Aden, revealing a pattern visible only in the long view. As military and police personnel crisscrossed the Empire, spreading techniques of repression far and wide, the higher-ups rarely checked such violence. Instead, over and again, they gave it the full force of law—sustaining more brutality still." https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/04/04/the-british-empire-was-much-worse-than-you-realize-caroline-elkinss-legacy-of-violence
  16. This has got to be one of the most incoherent posts I've read on this forum. Not even worth doing an autopsy on. Just mark it D.O.A. and move on.
  17. Not just that, it's a lot harder to track and pinpoint errors in a video. And not just that. Why spend the time watching this stuff if the same arguments can be read in a fraction of the time?
  18. Well, if your dentist says so, it must be true. Except that dentistry is largely unregulated. So how would Obamacare affect its costs? "Through the roof": The impact of rising costs on dentistry Sept. 16, 2022 "Practice operating costs are going up, in some cases through the roof. Yet the insurance companies aren’t really responsive to that." Read exclusive commentary on what the ADA is hoping to do for dentists. The ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) released new data showing sharp increases in the costs of operating dental practices, while insurance reimbursements remained flat—or even decreased. Roughly 1 in 4 have seen the costs of supplies and materials increase by at least 20% 47% of dentists reported that lab fees increased more than 1-10% 44% of dentists reported staff wages had increased by more than 1-10% 1 in 4 dentists reported that their insurance reimbursements decreased https://www.dentistryiq.com/dentistry/article/14282852/how-much-are-rising-costs-impacting-dentistry Dental insurance isn’t a scam — but it’s also not insurance Dental coverage has been off in its little — largely unregulated — corner, too. According to the American Dental Association, one-third of adults aged 19 to 64 don’t have any benefits at all. (For comparison, just 8.4 percent of Americans lack health insurance.) Many patients put off dental care and cite cost as the main reason they don’t go to the dentist — including those who are insured. https://www.vox.com/23901293/dentist-delta-dental-insurance-cigna-aspen-metlife-aetna
  19. The ACA's Medicaid provisions allowed New York to utilization federal funding to expand Medicaid to everyone with incomes up to 138% of poverty. New York went a step further than most other states by implementing the ACA's Basic Health Program, which covers people with income a little too high for Medicaid. https://www.healthinsurance.org/medicaid/new-york/
  20. Whatnonsense. Are you seriously belaboring the point that subsidized health insurance costs the government money and that if the program expands it will cost the government more? The article I cited addressed the costs to those elgible for the program. To pretend otherwise is just an act of desperation on your part.
  21. And of course, while she's looking for a job and then waiting up to 90 days for coverage to kick in, apparently WhatMeWorry thinks it's perfectly OK either to go without health insurance or spend a punishing amount for it.
  22. I have posted the text twice and that's enough.. I hate to use cliches but all I have left to say Is that I can post it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
