  1. Nice try at deflection. Whatever the truth about the source of those claims, they died a quick death among Democrats. Or was it Hillary Clinton or Sidney Blumenthal disguised as Donald Trump who led the Birther movement? At its height about 50% of Republicans didn't believe that Obama was eligible to be President. A lot of Aseannow menbers were among them,
  2. So this was a friendly comment, was it? "You have to be insane if you think this doesn't also hurt the Chinese and probably much more than it does the USA."
  3. You have to have dyslexia or worse if the believe that's the meaning of what I wrote. Again, here's what I wrote: "Because the harm only goes one way?" Do I really have to spell out the point I was making? It seems blatantly obvious to me.
  4. Because the harm only goes one way? Let's see how Americans feel about this in a couple of months.
  5. In all, Chinese officials have stopped publishing hundreds of data points once used by researchers and investors, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. In most cases, Chinese authorities haven’t given any reason for ending or withholding data. But the missing numbers have come as the world’s second biggest economy has stumbled under the weight of excessive debt, a crumbling real-estate market and other troubles—spurring heavy-handed efforts by authorities to control the narrative. https://archive.ph/BXAed#selection-2041.0-2049.157
  6. What don't you understand about the fact that all 9 supreme court justices ordered the Trump administration to facilitate Garcia's return? That 7 out of the 9 justices including all 3 appointed by Trump supported an emergency intervention to stop Venezuelans from being deported to El Salvador? Do you believe that Trump is secretly a Democrat? How is it that you can be so ignorant of these basic facts? You should really try and familiarize yourself with the basic facts about the current governance of America.
  7. Actually I agree with Yagoda this is really stupid. In fact, it's just as stupid as the campaign that questioned Obama's eligibility to be president. What kind of collective amnesia has afflicted the right wing that they have forgotten about this? I wonder how many of the people who are dismissing the thesis of this thread, enthusiastically supported the birther nonsense. And who was it who took over that campaign and pushed it for months? And made all sorts of unfulfilled promises about what they were going to find? Hmm... Maybe I'm suffering from amnesia, too. I can't seem to recall his name... It began with a "D" I think. Anybody want to help me out here?
  8. Hey dude I don't care about your claim that you used to be a liberal. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. All I've got to go on about the nature of your opinions is what you've offered in this forum. And they look pretty right wing to me. You're assertion of neutrality has the same value to me as someone who claims "I don't like Trump but... "yet consistently defends his policies And of course your question is a dishonest one. It's much like that famous example When did you stop beating your wife? Your question is based on the assumption that people who oppose Trump are somehow triggered rather than offering valid critiques of his policies. Or that because of what they say in this forum about Trump, a forum which you have apparently forgotten is called the political soapbox and not the ladies'sewing circle, therefore this extends into other areas of their lives and means that they are obsessed. In short, I can see no valid reason to believe your protestations of good faith and plenty of valid reasons not to.
  9. You have friends?
  10. Yes we should be ashamed of ourselves especially after the gracious way that Trump supporters accepted the results of the 2020 election. And of course there was their moderate and temperate disagreements with the programs of the Biden administration. As for your opinion that this forum should have some context perspective of Thailand, how many times have the moderators quashed such comments? Lots.. Oddly enough there is a place where you can find a Thai perspective on issues. It's in the Thai forum. But if that's not enough for you, looks to me like you're ready to start your own forum with your own rules.
  11. You're political opinions have a lot more in common with Mussolini than they do with Karl Marx
  12. I think what you're looking for is the cheerleaders' forum. I believe it's located two blocks down and then take a sharp right. A very sharp right.
  13. Do you understand that this is a political soapbox forum? Do you understand that it's a subforum of the world news forum? That Thai issues don't belong in this forum
  14. What you don't know about Marxism and its history is apparently pretty much everything. Frederick Engels was a wealthy man who helped support Marx for much of his life. Marx may have married a baroness but in fact they live together in poverty until Engels bailed them out.
  15. Sure. He's not at war with the media? That's why instituted a $20 billion dollar lawsuit against CBS because he didn't like the way they edited an interview with Kamala Harris. Because he's not at war with the media.
  16. The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State (1884) – Friedrich Engels “The emancipation of women becomes possible only when women are enabled to take part in production on a large, social scale, and when domestic work no longer claims anything but an insignificant amount of her time.
  17. What is this obsession that you have with emojis? Why would anyone rational even care about symbols that are posted anonymously?
  18. I get it. So it was foreign affairs and not the economy that got him elected?
  19. You it's about the most ridiculous kind of Marxism I ever heard. Marxism blames ills like drug addiction on the capitalist system. Not an individuals. And it only guarantees the opportunity to work for males? Because Marxism wants families to go hungry?
  20. Does he? Does he claim that McDonald's doesn't sell food to its franchisees? Or is it you who doesn't understand that the corporation does sell food to its franchisees.
  21. Interesting that you seem to think that allowing drug addicts to die is a valid way to address the population problem. Somehow not surprising given that you have often expressed your indifference to the fate of people who would die were it not for programs sponsored by wealthy nations.
  22. If I were diagnosed by Yagoda as being a normal human, I hope I would have enough sanity left to check myself into an insane asylum.
  23. Or maybe propose cutting a program that supplies emergency responders with narcan, a drug that has saved thousands of drug abusers from death by overdose. Because that's what the Trump administration just did.
