  1. Because the death and destruction would be directed against his enemies. In your example those enemies would be your wife and child.
  2. But it was still a silly made-up quote. It offers no justification for the fact that he's holding a bat.
  3. If the person posting the photo also blamed your wife's and your child's actions for inciting a riot, then yes.
  4. It's a montage. In the montage the bat is next to Bragg. It doesn't matter that it doesn't reflect reality. Why do you think the montage was created? Why do you think Trump reposted it? Because it proves he didn't hold a bat next to Bragg?
  5. Not "ad hominem" at all. I called your made-up quote silly. And I notice that you haven't offered any defense of it.
  6. Actually, I think the case is worse. He actually believes this nonsense. Maybe one of those supporters Trump claimed wouldn't care if he shot someone on 5th Ave.
  7. That is what the montage shows. Trump holding a bat and the bat is next to Bragg. That's why the images were juxtaposed. Why do you think those images were juxtaposed? In order not to show a bat next to Trump?
  8. You're making a great point. Now if there were lots of other rioters in the building who wouldn't exactly be pleased by the arrest, then your point would be ridiculous. But since Chansley was alone that day, it's clear...oh wait a minute...
  9. You're confused. The montage clearly shows Trump holding a bat next to Bragg. It's irrelevant that it's not real. Do you think that the 2 images in the montage were juxtaposed for some other reason than to show Trump holding a bat next to Bragg?
  10. A picture of Trump holding a bat in a montage next to Bragg isn't suggestive? As for your silly quote, where exactly do you imagine "here" to be?
  11. They had no right to enter the Capitol without permission. And of course, they violently entered the Capitol on the day when the Constitutionally crucial requirement of the electoral vote certification was taking place. In other words, an assault on the Constitution.
  12. Stated ridiculously, you mean. It's a montage. Not meant to represent reality. Why do you think Trump reposted it? Because he's an art lover? Or he's challenging Bragg to a batting contest?
  13. Well, if anyone is being dishonest here it's you lying to yourself. You have to be in deep denial not to accept that Trump has b Any rational person seeing someone posing holding a bat up close to another photo of a person he has made no bones about hating, wouldn't have any problem seeing that it's an endorsement of violence. Especially when posted so closely in time with predictions of death and destruction. Keep in mind that it was Trump who chose to repost that photo. The press didn't force him to do that.
  14. Actually, you didn't ask me the question. But asking for a general statement about the media lying in this context is just a deflection. Did the media lie about Trump posting that photo? Did it lie about Trump prophesying death and destruction?
  15. The realism isn't the issue. The fact is that in his mind and apparently the minds of his supporters, it's okay to be in such a picture. What kind of message does that send?
  16. The image clearly show that Trump is okay with actively taking part in death and destruction. So his death and destruction talk is not just a prediction of the inevitable but something it's okay to be part of it. I wish I could find it hard to believe that millions of Americans are okay with an ex-President posing in such a picture. There was a time not long ago when I would have reckoned it to be an impossibility.
  17. Does Trump make it a practice to have photos of him taken holding a baseball bat. Are you seriously suggesting it's just a coincidence that he happened to be hold a bat next to a juxtaposed image of Bragg's head? Trump once boasted that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave, and his supporters wouldn't care. Comments like yours definitely lend weight to that assertion.
  18. I thought it was my bank robbery analogy? I guess you have the prior claim.
  19. So are you denying that there are videos of the rioters storming the Capitol? Or are you still trying to claim because some is behaving peacefully at one point in time, that must mean that they were behaving peacefully before, as well?
  20. If someone robs a bank and there's a video of him 1 hour later taking a stroll down the street, how is that video evidence that he didn't commit a crime? The police were being friendly out of self-interest. They were in no position to be hostile.
  21. The police were greatly outnumbered. Had they tried to make arrests, it's unlikely that would have ended well for them. We have already seen what violence the rioters were capable of when they stormed the Capitol The police were making the best of a bad situation.
