  1. I don't know about elsewhere but in the US it's only a minority of mortgage are variable interest. Actually, for the who have mortgages at fixed interest rates, high inflation is mostly a good thing
  2. First it was claimed that Russia invaded Ukraine because of NATO and/or because of Ukraine's treatment of Russians. So not Russia's fault. Now you're claiming that Putin will do even worse things because he's been accused of war crimes. And not because someone capable of such extreme barbarity could do even worse? Once again, it's somebody else's fault but not Putin's.
  3. She was doing a lot better before her benefactor decided to invade Ukraine.
  4. "Macron barely won against Le Pen? Really? You get your news from RT? "Emmanuel Macron has won five more years as France's president after a convincing victory over rival Marine Le Pen, who nevertheless secured the far right's highest share of the vote yet. He won by 58.55% to 41.45%, a greater margin than expected." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61209058
  5. What do you mean "local CCP"? You think these were some chinese equivalent of the National Guard? Really? And as for "microaggressions", if the Indians hadn't fought them off, do you think the Chinese would have retreated back to their previous lines anyway? And how many Chinese troops has the USA fought off recently?
  6. Excellent point! There is no evidence at all that Russia has invaded Ukraine. It's all an invention of the CIA.
  7. Maybe for the same reason that Soviet flags are now flying in territories that Russia has liberated? Do you recall that Putin said the collapse of the Soviet Union was the greatest tragedy of the 20th century? The same century that saw WW1 and WW2.
  8. Irrelevant to what? Ya think these are ping-pong games? China is seeking to expand its territory. India is resisting effectively.
  9. You mean Russia applied to join NATO and it was rejected? Well, that would explain the chip on Putin's shoulder.
  10. Thanks for demonstrating your utter lack of knowledge about India/China relations. You might want to consult this: 2020–2022 China–India skirmishes Beginning on 5 May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops engaged in aggressive melee, face-offs, and skirmishes at locations along the Sino-Indian border, including near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh and the Tibet Autonomous Region, and near the border between Sikkim and the Tibet Autonomous Region. Additional clashes also took place at locations in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020–2022_China–India_skirmishes
  11. Actually, now that I recall better, it wasn't . That was a long piece he wrote (or had ghostwritten but attached his name to it.)
  12. Was that the speech where he celebrated the acquisition of half of Poland in 1939? He somehow failed to note who Russia's partner was in that act of dismemberment. It was Nazi Germany.
  13. It's certainly not a sure thing. But it's very odd that the Russians don't exactly deny it. They just say that they have no information concerning the alleged attack.
  14. Russian warship Admiral Makarov ‘on fire after being hit by Ukrainian missile’ Russia’s Admiral Makarov warship has been hit by Ukrainian missiles and burst into flames, according to Ukrainian officials. The frigate would be Russia’s latest naval loss in a troubled campaign, coming after reports that US intelligence helped Ukraine locate and sink the Russian warship Moskva weeks ago. It was said to have been sailing close to Snake Island in the Black Sea south of Odesa. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/russia-ship-admiral-makarov-ukraine-war-b2073007.html
  15. Good to see that you are not calling it a special Mission anymore.
  16. It doesn't make any sense as a reference since the ICC can't impose the death penalty.
  17. I'm not sure about how lonely Milosevic is. He committed suicide about 22 years ago. As for war crime trials, how do you propose to transport Putin and his henchmen from Russia to Ukraine?
  18. Your comments are the gifts that keep on giving. For example: "I agree that "simplification" is probably the singular "forte" of the vociferous clique that expound in massive volumes of verbage opinions of collective appeal to and for "virtual" high fives while ignoring the actuality of geopolitical complexity." I particularly enjoyed "verbage opinions of collective appeal." You do a mean imitation of a bot. But as usual, while your comments certainly don't lack in attacks on character, they are remarkably short on facts. And just because a situation is complicated that doesn't justify phrases like "verbage opionions of collective appeal" or run-on sentences. Believe it or not, it is possible for some to write clearly about complicated situations. If, in fact, the Russian invasion is a complicated situation. Which it basically is not. But I will concede that at in the following sentence you do at least make a recognizable reference to what you allege is a fact: "There is no geopolitical simplification in the "situation" when and where the majority of Nations object to a minority assuming a mandate which in terms of global ramifications that minority has no right to inflict, never has, and now due to potential global armageddon continues to pursue ." First off, out of 191 nations in the UN a total of 141 nations demanded that Russia immediately end its military operations in Ukraine. Another 35 nations abstained. The countries that voted against the resolution are Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Syria, and, of course, Russia.. That's an inspiring Gang of 4 that supports Russia. And on April 7 a resolution of the UN general assemply passed to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council. And please do share with us facts to support your assertion that the majority of nations object to materiel support from many countries to assist the Ukrainian military forces. Somehow, I don't hold out much hope that you'll produce them.
  19. A post like the one above is precisely why people like this with their reflexive right wing obsessions will drive away advertisers and twitterers.
  20. What about Truth Social? Parler? And a few others? Maybe the problem is the trolls need non-trolls to harass? Of course, what will happen if Musk relaxes the moderation is that advertisers will flee from the trolls as well as Twitter users. Also, the EU has rules about what sort of speech is allowed on sites like Twitter. So if Musk acts in accordance with his convictions, there goes the EU market.
  21. What happened with milk was years ago, there was a worldwide shortage and prices shot up everywhere. But when the shortage was over, and prices elsewhere had declined sharply, for some odd reason, the prices in Thailand didn't. You would almost think that there was some kind of agreement among the competitors to keep prices artificially high.
  22. Funny how the price Rises of those two crucial Thai foods, blackberries and oatmeal don't make the headlines. Go figure!
  23. Unfortunately for China, it's now Xi not Deng for economic and other issues.
  24. You're sure that the Russian source would have a completely different estimate? Because Russia doesn't know the extent of it's losses? Really? Russia has kept conspicuously silent on the issue since the early days of the invasion except to acknowledge that losses have been heavy. What does Russia's silence tell you? That the news on that score is good? Or that Russia is hiding some really grim figures.?
  25. I'm puzzled. Is it your contention that just like the Russian invasion force there is also an invasion force from planet Zog? Or is it that just like that invasion force from planet Zog, the Russian invasion force is fictional? Your comment is utterly clueless about the issue of probability.
