It's extraordinary how intermittent is Trump's understanding and that of his legions of MAGA supporters when it comes to understanding capitalism and the free market system. Given their enthusiastic support of tariffs, I guess we shouldn't be surprised.
-
And they're so proud of their t achievements that they make it impossible to check up on whether they actually are real or not. Send payments to whom? Workers have been recalled infrastructure has been dismantled or abandoned. You think after the hiatus they can just pick up again like nothing has happened?

This just shows what a bubble you live in. Oil industry executives have been saying for months that they are not going to drill more in order to accommodate Trump's desire for lower oil prices. Drill Baby Drill Is Dead, Oil Executives Say https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Drill-Baby-Drill-Is-Dead-Oil-Executives-Say.html Harold Hamm Sounds the Alarm: Low Oil Prices Could Shut Down US Shale https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Harold-Hamm-Sounds-the-Alarm-Low-Oil-Prices-Could-Shut-Down-US-Shale.html It looks to me like you're a crypto socialist and you just don't understand how the free market system works. Long live capitalism!

Trump wants the American oil industry to drill more in order to lower prices. Apparently, he expects them to commit economic suicide in order to promote his agenda. Is that how the free market system works?

You just criticized puck 2 about hateful speech and then you call me and others "incredible leaches". You are a massive hypocrite. As for me getting handouts, what do you actually know about me as opposed to what you think you know about me that would lead you to draw such a conclusion? And even if the program was to be cancelled, why not try to do it in a way that wouldn't result in such awful consequences? Why so abrupt?

Typical not getting the point. Scorecard asked for a guide and I offered one to him.

In North Carolina, Trump attacks FEMA and repeats false claims about its response to Helene Surveying storm damage in North Carolina, former President Donald Trump on Monday blasted federal emergency responders whose work has been stymied by armed harassment and a deluge of misinformation, but he said he was not concerned that the aftermath of Hurricane Helene would affect election results in the battleground state. Trump was asked whether it was helpful to criticize hurricane relief workers after the Federal Emergency Management Agency recently paused its work in the area because of reports they could be targeted by militia. He responded by again attacking the agency and repeating the falsehood that the response was hampered because FEMA spent its budget helping people who crossed the border illegally, a claim that was debunked weeks ago by U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., who stood behind Trump as he spoke. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/in-north-carolina-trump-attacks-fema-and-repeats-false-claims-about-its-response-to-helene

U.S. Rig Count Stalls as Oil Prices Keep Drillers in Check The total number of active drilling rigs for oil and gas in the United States held steady this week, according to new data that Baker Hughes published on Friday, following a 1-rig decrease in the week prior. The total rig count in the US stayed at 592 rigs, according to Baker Hughes, down 37 from this same time last year amid the pervasive Drill Baby Drill sentiment of the Trump Administration, tariff wars, and sanctions. The number of oil rigs rose by 1 to 487—down by 23 compared to this time last year. https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/US-Rig-Count-Stalls-as-Oil-Prices-Keep-Drillers-in-Check.html

What don't you understand about the fact that Donald Trump is President of the United States? And his administration abruptly pulled the plug on the PEPFAR program as well as lots of others. Are you claiming he's not responsible? And why not try to arrange a transfer instead of a sudden cancellation?

Look to the kinds of programs and actions that the MAGA program supports and take the opposite as your guide. The result should be at least 95% accurate.

Prisoner releases on both sides are part of an agreement signed in February between the U.S. and the Taliban. It calls for the release of 5,000 Taliban held by the government and 1,000 government and military personnel held by the insurgent group as a good will gesture ahead of intra-Afghan negotiations. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/2020/08/16/kabul-begins-release-of-final-400-taliban-prisoners-called-for-in-us-agreement/ China Paid Trump Millions In Rent. Then He Left The White House During the four years that Donald Trump occupied the White House, the state-owned Industrial and Commercial Bank of China paid him an estimated $7 million to rent space in Trump Tower. Despite the extraordinary circumstances of the deal—involving the government of China, the president of the United States, and millions of dollars—the Trump family portrayed the agreement as a standard business transaction. Previously unreported documents call that characterization into question. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2023/04/10/china-paid-trump-millions-in-rent-then-he-left-the-white-house/ Trump in-laws promote thorny visa-for-sale program in China Revelations that the sister of Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, promoted a program offering a path to U.S. citizenship to Chinese backers in a Kushner family project bring new scrutiny to a foreign investor visa program. The Kushner Companies apologized Monday, saying it had not meant to lure investors by using Jared Kushner’s name at an investment promotion event held Saturday at a Ritz Carlton in Beijing. Marketing materials for the event promoted Nicole Kushner Meyer as Jared’s sister, and cited the Kushner family’s “celebrity” status. https://apnews.com/united-states-government-a8dd473648d9484b9938b6c2425199e2

Do you understand that Donald Trump is President of the United States? Given that it's the Trump administration that has brought about this situation, why isn't it legitimate to assign the responsibility to him and his adminstration? Your comment is just another transparent attempt at deflection. Apparently the only kind of transparency that Trump supporters back.

Really? The US is going to screen all people coming to the US from abroad? Do you understand that about 1/4 of the population tests positive for TB? So the way to reform PEPFAR is to destroy it? And this is what should be called faith-based evidence: "If Musk's DOGE is aimed at PEPFAR, you'd probably find out that a fraction of that funding actually makes it to the target population and the rest is siphoned off to support the largess of the NGOs and their staff and CEOs." It's amazing that given all the falsehoods promulgated by Musk and Doge, (and now they are actually hiding the evidence that could check the accuracy of their claims) people still believe that they are equipped to do the job.

Thanks for the compounded stupidity.

This is a quote from you: "Therefore, we must invest heavily in arming ourselves with the vaccine, while using more effective strategies than are being used today, which do not work." But why are you claiming that measures to stop the spread of TB are ineffective? Do you believe that in the absence of those measure the status quo wouldn't be far worse? https://www.gavi.org/vaccineswork/tb-africa-global-report-shows-successes-nigeria-and-drc-remain-important-hotspots

A sure sign that someone's got nothing is when they make it personal. You've got nothing.
-
In short, you have no answer for the fact that there isn't an effective vaccine. And are you seriously suggesting that the current programs designed to suppress tuberculosis have been ineffective in suppressing its spread? But somehow that fumigating prisons will help while other programs don't? Also, are you familiar with the role that HIV plays in spreading TB?

I don't think you understand the situation. Unlike humans, microbes have always been great respecters of the borders of the USA. And Trump's stance on unauthorized immigration has only made the situation even clearer to them. Not only do they still respect and honor the USA, but now they fear it as well. Not only that, but because of that deep respect for the USA they wouldn't take advantage even by hitchhiking on a human who possesses a legitimate visa for entry into the USA. So there is no way that the abrupt cancellation of programs designed to monitor and treat potential threats posed by microbes could have any effect on the USA. At least, that's how it works in Oppositeworld.

And if that happens, the people who are going to be most sorry are the Republicans. The reason that Conservatives have a shot in Canada is because of the Parliamentary system and the first-past-the-post way of doing their elections. The 4 main parties in Canada are the Conservatives, the Liberals, NDP, and the Parti Quebecois. 3 out of the 4 are basically liberal in their orientation. Conservatives historically have garnered about 35% of the vote on average. https://www.firstpost.com/explainers/trump-wants-canada-as-51st-us-state-why-this-would-be-disastrous-for-republicans-13850544.html
