  1. My daughter's been a very close contact 3 times now, tested everytime for a week, all negative. Told I can't fathom why she hasn't picked it up. Must be natural immunity as she is still a junior and no vaccination.
  2. Basic economics but remember this is Thailand, normally raise the price to counter shortfall of sales rather than the other way around.
  3. Or is there a possibility that people are negative on arrival and then catch covid in the days before their test on day 5/6?
  4. Who'd want to travel on fake PCR certificate knowing that if you get to Thailand and test positive your interred at your expense for 10+ days. I'd rather get a real PCR positive in my departure country and postpone the trip.
  5. I live UK and no way my child will have one, risk to children is almost negligible, more chance of them succumbing to something else. Read on a post yesterday, one province governor said schools will reopen when 70% of children have had vaccine, this is mandatory vaccination by default in my eyes when governors make statements like that.
  6. "Business operaters' request 90000 slave labour" is what it should say. What about all the Thais with no jobs in the fall out from covid/tourism demise.
  7. Why not say which tests they are getting positive, arrival or day 5/6. Maybe there's too many day 5 positive tests which could have easily been picked up in Thailand.
  8. They stated 23k applied first day Thai Pass yesterday, now 30k plus. TAT getting confused again? And who would travel from China to return to 21 day quarantine.
  9. If all countries tested like Thailand I'm sure a lot more would climb the table.
  10. Pretty sure UK does if you have symptoms, but then the UK doesn't force PCR tests on fully vaccinated visitors and even a positive ATK does not require a follow up PCR now.
  11. Thought they said they were going to stop using the "sino" vaccines?
  12. Do all deaths have to be certified by a doctor? I believe not so if someone falls ill and dies out in the sticks who certifies it, let alone connect it with covid. Why are the excess deaths way above the official covid deaths. This was discussed yesterday on this thread.
  13. You state 55k excess deaths, that is over and above the average. Previous years averages would have included those from road accidents, illness etc. How do you explain such a large excess apart from covid is ravaging the world. Just need to put two and two together to see that in most countries the excess deaths have rocketed in the last two years above the expected 5yr average. Remember the word "excess".
  14. Thailand doesn't like testing its own population as it costs the state money if a Thai has to go into quarantine. They love testing tourists as if found positive and have to go into quarantine it makes money. Simple, end of.
  15. Wishful thinking, don't think there will ever be a time when there is zero covid and zero deaths. That's like saying there is zero seasonal flu and zero deaths from flu or dengue fever.
  16. You hit the nail on the head right there. It's Thailand, plus no extra money in the Dubai model.
  17. Be nice to know the number of Sandbox tourists testing positive on their second test who I think, in my opinion , maybe contracting the virus in Phuket.
  18. They won't know when it's peaked I think, don't test, don't know. Same as new variants entering the country, if your not looking you won't pick them up until it's too late.
  19. As said by others, it's not the 330Bht, it's the possible 10's thousands if you happen to test positive and you're a foreigner. This is looking more like a tourist trap/scam to boost the hospital/hospital income. Just look at social media on the subject and most people are saying the same thing, "no thanks". The longer this witch hunt on tourists carries on whilst ignoring the resident population, the more damage they are doing to their tourism image.
  20. Going by the Thai to tourist ration you'd think that there was 1 tourist for every 3 Thai in Phuket. Just shows the difference between how the Thais are testing their own population and the tourists. Tourists have no choice unfortunately about reporting positive tests, unlike the locals who can just hideaway without reporting or just throw the ATK in the bin and carry on as normal if they need to earn a living to put food on the table and roof over their heads. I truly believe this 5 day test has turned into a cash cow now, trying to squeeze every last bit from tourists.
  21. Think even with lack of testing you'd see an increase up to plateau eventually, not this rolling wave on the bar chart, something definitely amiss. Also the rhetoric from the government does not match what is happening with the case numbers.
  22. If they were that worried about the vulnerable in the population they would have prioritized them for vaccines over the younger and those working in tourist destinations. The only elderly prioritized were the generals in charge.
  23. Totally different number reported?? Can the figures really be trusted. https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/?dashboard=province
