I really don't understand why this is a topic over and over again. Is it every time someone who has turned sour here and thinks the grass is always greener next door? When you are somewhere longer, the pink cloud disappears and you also see the shortcomings. They are always and everywhere. And by extension, Thailand isn't that bad. For me a great country to live in.

A published link is always a better reference than a Thaivisa poster's Thai-bashing first "thoughts".
Neh, most of the time life experience and modeling the ingredients brings you closer to the truth. And can you pls tell me where the Thai bashing comes in????

I arrived yesterday morning and it was still a rugby scrum with some complaining of waiting over an hour for their transport.
I went to the R counter and was told by a surly attendant that my hotel was not there.
Was directed to another lady who eventually got me sorted.
I live in Thailand and this is my 3rd time to do this, but it must be very frustrating for genuine tourists
Exactly the reason why im still not visited my family and friends in my home country. To get there.....no problem. But the thoughts of going through all the hassle to come back.....no thank you. So i also can completely understand that tourist will look for another destination without all the risk and hassle.

Hello!?!?!?!
In a country with 70.000.000 there are just over 100 daily dead who are registrered positive... Did they die of covid, or did they die with covid?? Seriously this scaremongering has got to stop!!!
I am just amazed that nobody properly questions this as this is clearly used as a tool to control the people and country there!!!they do want to question it but are being censored

If discounting motorcycles.... and counting vehicles with 4 wheels or more, I would believe that 70% of the accidents involve pick-ups for a number of reasons (which people may or may not like or agree with)....
- More pickups outside of the city
- Pickups less stable at cruising speed
- More cars in the city - slower speeds = less cars in accidents
- More pickups outside of the city = more pickups going faster, more accidents
- Darker roads outside of the city = more pickups in night time accidents
- More educated people in cities than countryside = more poorly educated people in pickups
- Further to drive to bars etc in country = more people drink driving for further distances in pickups
Like it or not... the ‘assumption’ (because thats all it really is) - is that there are more pickups driving faster in the countryside by people who are less educated than those driving cars in the city, by people who have further to drive, roads are darker at night, they drive further while drunk etc and they are driving cars which are inherently less stable than cars at speed and on wet roads.
Some, all or a combination of individual facets of the above may lend to the theory that more pickups are involved in accidents than in cars.
-------
When driving a car & riding a motorcycle, only in the day time, carefully, never speeding, never drunk, never jumping lights or overtaking dangerously etc... vastly reduces (but never removes) our risk of being involved in an accident compared to what the national road stats may suggest.
My Wife has had quite a few accidents in the past... And far fewer since we have been married.
She now doesn’t use her phone while driving, doesn’t drive while drunk - its incredible the difference those two things have made to her ‘accident stats’ (from something in the region of an accident per year, to none in 10 years !).
I call it the small penis syndrome..........100% spot on

Wife was dropped off last night after a songkran party in the village........the back of the truck had seven or eight teenagers in it, all well oiled,......and I imagine the driver was probably in no fit state ........they just don't care/don't think.
Without knowing the exact cause, it seems that it was again a lack of responsibility.

You have a contact. Period. And ask yourself the question if it was the other way around? Would you accept, as a tenant, a raise of your rent?

What? Costly affair???? Really? I assume you are living in Thailand or planning on living here, as you want to compare renting or buying. However, if you consider buying a scooter a costly affair, then I would say that you will have a hard time to afford living in Thailand.
Nope. living in Thailand for 6 years now and doing fine.

What are you doing? A scooter in Thailand is an ideal means of transport. However, the purchase of a scooter is a costly affair. Which is cheaper and what do you do? Rent or buy?
