  1. The message is consistent. VP Harris supports Israel's right to defend itself, but that right does not give Israel carte blanche to whatever it wants to do. Nothing Harris has said deviates from the longstanding position that the USA has had on Israel or the self determination of Palestinians. As for Rashida Tlaib, she was born in the USA. Her political positions may be unpleasant, but she is representing her constituents. She is under no obligation to support Harris, but her district will see the consequences of that at some point. Trump's policies will be not be any friendlier to her Palestinian agenda than Harris'
  2. The explanation provided was quite clear. The evidence so far suggests that this was an intentional act, sloppily effected to ensure being discovered so as to undermine the integrity of the PA voting system. I believe you term these sort of events "false flag operations". Election workers noticed irregularities while preparing to process the forms and immediately initiated an investigation. This shows that the election protections work. There has been transparency. The event has similarities to other false flag events. I do notice that you are quiet on the exposed Russian initiated fraud. Federal intelligence agencies determined a widely shared video posted to social media in late October 2024 that reportedly showed mail ballots in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, being ripped up was a fake that was manufactured by Russian operatives seeking to undermine confidence in the November election. “This Russian activity is part of Moscow’s broader effort to raise unfounded questions about the integrity of the US election and stoke divisions among Americans … In the lead up to election day and in the weeks and months after, the [intelligence community] expects Russia to create and release additional media content that seeks to undermine trust in the integrity of the election and divide Americans.”. The Russian fraud is germane to this event because it shows that there is a concerted effort underway to undermine confidence in the US electoral system. The sabotage is spread, enabled and facilitated by people who rush to spread their claims of imagined conspiracies.

  4. California still remains the main contributor to the US national tax base. It is California that tops up the generous federal funding of social services spending in mismanaged poor states that vote Republican. if it wasn't for California, impoverished states like MS, AL, KY and LA would be starving.
  5. Something isn't right here. Favre says he has brain damage which has resulted in his cognitive decline, i.e. he cannot think clearly. https://www.renuehealth.com/brett-favre-opens-traumatic-brain-injuries/ Favre is deeply mired in Mississippi's largest corruption scandals in its history. As reported by Mississippi Today, the state auditor's office that said "illegal expenditures and unlawful dispositions were made when Favre knew or had reason to know through the exercise of reasonable diligence that the expenditures were illegal and/or the dispositions were unlawful." A panel of three justices from the Mississippi Supreme Court denied Favre's request for removal as a defendant in the civil lawsuit seeking recovery of the stolen funds.
  6. Were they really digital nomads or just part time gig workings drifting from one part time assignment to another? The use of the term digital nomad is one of those recent terms that gets under my skin. It joins "deep dive", "Disrupt", "Lit" and "all hands on deck" work jargon that draws my ire. I can't stand seeing them in our work emails or hearing them on calls. Same as seeing smarmy guys who think they are influencers with their cruddy monetized youtube and instagram content.
  7. Come on. There are a large number of websites that provide real time arrival and departure of flights from the airport. Flightstats and Flight radar has been doing it for at least 10 years. Thailand airports have been providing realtime updates of departures and arrivals for well over a decade too. Don't people in your family know how to use the internet? It wasn't too difficult to figure out arrival time into UTP. You could have messaged your family at departure and given the estimated arrival time. It's a 90 minute flight. I wasn't there for your taxi experience 3 years ago, but it doesn't matter now. The reality today is that there are more than 10 transport options to get from UTP to Pattaya or to Bangkok ranging in cost from 800 baht to 1500 baht. I was surprised to see that the cost to Huahin is 2000 baht which is the same as BKK-HH. It's bargain time at UTP.
  8. The video was just a continuous flow of BS and self delusion. Most of the older expats who have something going for them don't care about the younger expats. Why would or should they? Good for him that he can find such great deals on a condo. What he misses is that what a younger person may want in a residence is not what an older person wants or needs. I do not need a communal BBQ area, or a party room. I do want proper concierge services including security. I want to be in in an area close to some shops for convenience. He may not.Convenience and location comes at a price. He might be willing to tolerate loud neighbours, but some people will not. In respect to the younger expats referred to and their "wealth", most of them haven't got a pot to p into. Digital nomad is just another term for a drifter who relies on gig work to survive. What exactly are most of these digital nomads? They do the jobs that do not require much social interaction with other humans. No need for social graces when the work assignment is emailed or made available on a dedicated website. No need to know how to speak or interact with people when all you do is address software issues or review documentation. These are the jobs best suited for people we used to call losers, guys who would wet themselves when they had to speak to a girl, people who had poor hygiene and who were not particularly attractive. Yes, there are exceptions, but that's what the majority of them are. They do not present a threat to anyone with social skills, even a 75 year old man. I am weary of all the tales of successful day traders and bitcoin speculators and their vast wealth. If they are so wealthy why do they need to tell the world? Good for them and their mastery of the world. I am doing ok and that's all that matters innit?
  9. I do not associate with prostitutes, whether cheap beer bar floozies or better dressed prowlers of the social scene. I don't know anyone who does. If you want to socialize with them, then go and just do it. There is no need to broadcast your internal process to justify it. I don't think people are interested in the management of prostitutes. Look at the comments here. There is zero respect for you on the topic. Do you not see how cringe this topic is? Maybe you would have a warmer reception on page that addressed the difficulties of managing a brothel/beer bar or how to get the most out one's sex workers.
  10. Look in the mirror. The answer is staring back at you. The flow of unauthorized migrants has always been high except during the brief Covid19 suspension. The reality is that unauthorized entries surged during the 1990's. It was a reflection of the turmoil in the latin American region and in Haiti and Cuba. This was one of the reasons why President Bush tried to introduce immigration reform. The current immigration crisis is a reflection of the refusal of some political factions to act responsibly. Everytime an administration comes up with a solid plan, some political groups refuse to let it proceed. It is easier to blame than to take responsibility for ignorance. In President George W. Bush’s second term, two initiatives failed. They were not perfect plans but two extremist factions in the Congressional delegations, one in the Republican and the other in the Democrat, blocked them. The best chance to enact comprehensive reform came in 2013 during President Barack Obama’s second term, when a bipartisan group of senators dubbed the “Gang of Eight” agreed on a bill that would toughen security at the southern border and make it harder for employers to hire migrants who had entered the U.S. illegally while providing legal status and a path to citizenship for millions of such migrants who had resided in the U.S. for many years. The proposal passed the Senate 68 to 32 with strong bipartisan support. It did not enjoy the support of a majority of House Republicans, and then-Speaker John Boehner refused to bring it to floor for a vote, and the measure died. Had the Obama plan been applied, we would not see the problems we see today. A year ago, a bipartisan team of senators began negotiations to produce a bill that enough members of both parties could accept to overwhelm objections from progressive Democrats and America First Republicans. The team negotiated for four months to produce this bill. It took less than four days for its support among Republicans to collapse. Why? Donald Trump objected. It looks like the republicans wanted a campaign issue. Once the House Speaker stated publicly that he would not allow the Senate bill to reach the House floor for a vote, Republican senators were unwilling to run the political risk of supporting a measure that would not become law. Thank you Donald J. Trump.
  11. No. Would you drink the water that comes out of your spray device? Why then would you wish to introduce that same water deep into your rectum and even the lower colon? The bacteria, viruses, fungi & mold spores, amoebas etc. found in the water supply are just as infectious when introduced by way of the rectum. Any liquids administered should always be sterile and appropriately pH balanced. One should not over worry bowel movements. If one is a light eater, has limited activity and has a slow metabolism, the excretions will reflect that. One of the fastest ways to improve bowel output is to get active. Physical movement helps the bowel movements.
  12. Stop it. My dentist gave me a reality check when she told me to avoid soda water. It is acidic and erodes tooth enamel. Adding the lemon or lime makes it more acidic. I was told to drink plain water. I verified and she was indeed correct.
  13. The police acted on the information available at the time. The additional charges were laid once they had enough evidence to support the charge I am not saying this is not Islamic related. it may very well be. However, in looking at this kid, he doesn't look particularly "normal". I suggest that someone put him up to this and that the police should be looking into that as well.
  14. I have little faith in Thai food labels and when I purchase organic produce, I try to buy the foreign options. My local Lotus has some Australian organic products. I can sometimes find US sourced organic berries. Not all fruit and vegetables need to be organic. One can safely consume some things without worry provided the produce is thoroughly washed and scrubbed where necessary. I do try to eat organic berries, apples, and celery. The massive orange carrots freak me out so I will buy the baby cut carrots from the USA. Whenever there is Japanese fruit available, I will sometimes buy that because they have pesticide standards.Sometimes you have to be prepared to visit a Tops and Villa Market too.
  15. The letters were sent because that is what decent people do. Are you angry because President Biden and VP Harris showed some class?
  16. VP Harris had no control over the US borders. NONE. Why then do you make the false statement? US Border laws are passed by the US Congress and they are enforced by US Homeland Security which includes the US Border Patrol. It was Trump who would not let the last bipartisan border legislation pass, legislation which have funded additional border security assets and attacked the core reason for migration. There are no open borders in the USA. Yes, there is a problem with unauthorized migrants. It is nothing new. Unauthorized entries occurred under the Trump administration just as they have under the administrations of Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, and so on. The numbers coming in are too large to stop with conventional means. There are organized gangs who transport the migrants. The people who are shouting the loudest about "illegals" refuse to accept that they are in large part the reason why those millions of people are arriving. They have had multiple options to address the issue, many more cost effective than paying for fences and more guards. The Bush plan was turned down too and had it been put into effect much of the current mess could have been reduced.
  17. It was a recitation of facts. Trump was convicted on 34 felony charges. You term the charges "political". It does not matter, as Trump was charged with dishonest acts that violated the law. To argue otherwise is to say that the law should not apply to anyone who engages in bribery, and makes false accounting regulatory filings. Did he or did he not engage in the legal acts?
  18. Pleasingly plump, Rubenesque men then. They have manboobs. Remember what Cornorshop used to say? Everyone needs a bosom for a pillow.
  19. It is easy to see who the older, and infrequent flyers are. 😄 The switch to biometric boarding will streamline the boarding process, stop look and pass the entry gate. It can also be used to ensure that the people who push their way into an earlier boarding zone can be better managed. It is proven worthwhile. Millions of passengers are already relying on biometrics to clear security lines and immigration. Examples are Global Entry, Nexus, and ABTC. I can now enter the USA or Canada in minutes compared to having to stand in line with people for 30 -60 minutes+ at peak hours. The Lufthansa Group has already deployed in Vienna, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munchen airports. You will still receive a BP. Did you know that there are electronic boarding passes, if you look at the security gates, most people are using their phones. The SD has a passenger manifest that shows the passenger and their assigned seat. The manifest is either delivered electronically, prior to departure or is in the printout that the GA hands off to the SD before the door is closed. Airports have monitors that show assigned gates and all passengers are told to check with these monitors when disembarking or transiting in the terminal. Gates can and do change. Many longhaul flights that have a connection, do not show the connecting gate. Passengers should always check with the airport monitors that offer real time updates. The move to biometric BPs is long overdue and is part of the improvement in worldwide air travel. Your argument is similar to the one offered when the standard moved to e-tickets and the issuing of paper tickets and coupons for flight segments stopped. People can and do lose their BPs. Multiple people do not have their BPs and ID in hand when boarding and they delay the boarding process. Some people try to board early. This will all be better managed by EBP. The technology that will be used will be at an international standard and have to be certified, much as the screening scanners are. If you have flown with the airline it will have offered an electronic boarding pass which you can use. Most people now use online checkin. The people most likely to be bumped or downgraded are those without FF status at the airline who delay checkin.
  20. The facts of this event are inconsistent with the story. The Thai Air Asia flight did not operate on October 26. It did operate October 27. This is a quick turnaround service meaning that it lands, refuels, is groomed and then departs one hour later. So, the reference to only being released on October 27, does not make sense. The flight FD 182 Thai AirAsia DMK Bangkok - KTM Kathmandu Delayed by 40m Arrival Scheduled 14:00 Actual Arrival 14:40 FD 183 Thai AirAsia KTM Kathmandu -DMK Bangkok Delayed by 3h 35m Departure Scheduled 15:00 Actual 18:46 The flights are late 50% of the time on both portions of the flight, late into KTH at less than 30 minutes, and late into DMK at less than 60 minutes. I expect this is much ado about nothing.
  21. All very solid reasoning. However, I offer that while China could lay waste to the infrastructure of Taiwan it would result in a severing of all financial ties and trade with the free world. South Korea and Japan would be at risk. The Philippines would panic. India would not support China.. China would see its own economy damaged and would likely face serious economic boycotts from 60% of its markets.
  22. Yes, you have made a valid conclusion, provided that someone is not willing to trade or barter or purchase. Although a national currency or even a linked regional basket of currencies can fail. It is unlikely that the fiat currencies of stable countries would do so. When a local currency collapses, the locals will quickly switch a more stable foreign currency like USD, or Euro, or Chinese Renminbi. Long before there was a worldwide collapse of currencies, there would be warning signs, and foreigners would be warned to get out of a hotzone. If there was an immediate collapse, the crisis that would ensue would be far greater than not having any money. We would see a collapse of social services, and a collapse of public order. I doubt that foreigners would survive long enough to have to be concerned about not having any liquid assets. Look at what happened to the Iraqis and their Palestinian allies after the liberation of Kuwait. They fled back to Iraq, but a great many were incinerated one day losing all of the stolen vehicles and the looted appliances, furniture and gold that they were carrying.
  23. Gold is a social construct because the elites of ancient times declared it a valued commodity. Yes, the value of gold has been relatively stable over the long term. However, it has been volatile in the short term. Gold is a solitary item. The fiat currency of a free country can be more stable because it is backed by the combined resources of that country. A diversification of an asset base that relies upon multiple stable commodities offers a stronger base of stability. In addition are judicial systems that support social stability. I do not invest in Thailand. However, I do recognize that it offers a relatively stable economy that relies upon multiple commodities in addition to gold.
  24. Seriously, you consider a relationship with someone where one is not required to compensate for the time spent, "holier than thou'? What a screwed up world you live in. I was not raised in an environment where people were obliged to pay for companionship. My mother and father did not pay each other for services rendered, nor did my grandparents. I am unaware of anyone having had parents who did this. My friends and I did not pay each other to hang out. When I was in university, my friends and I would often buy the table a pitcher of beer, but it was out of a spirit of friendship, except in the case of Bobby, who was poor and just getting by. It was an understanding we all had, and I don't think Bobby was ever asked to provide sexual favours in return. People who have charm, a personality, take care of themselves, good hygiene etc. will always attract the interest of others. I don't know anyone who uses hookers. I am sure they are out there, but most of us don't socialize with that strata of society.
  25. And away we go with the promos for gold. The value of gold is a social construct. In effect it is the continuation of a cultural practice that dates to ancient times. The biggest promoters of the value of gold are those who sell it and make their living from its trade. The reality is that the currency of a stable economy is far more valuable than gold itself. Gold is but one commodity. The currency of a stable economy is secured by multiple assets. One of the arguments used for holding gold is that it can be used in a time of an emergency. Well, it is of no use if trade routes are blocked, or if suppliers have no resources to sell. Canada has no gold reserves. It doesn't need them. It has oil reserves, fresh water, abundant clean energy with its hydro electricity, lots of fertile land, and an abundance of food or access to it. This is what its currency is secured by: The wealth of the nation. Many countries have similar national assets. This is why their currency is not "dying". The USA offers similar to Canada, and can usually offer a stability of government too. the same holds for the EU, UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea and others. Yes, if I was living in Sierra Leone. gold might have a justifiable need, but I am not so I need not worry about the issue.
