I'm rather perturbed by some of te posts here - thy appear to be trying to mitigate the actions of the drunk driver by pointing blame at te motorcycle. ...and making assumptions. firstly we don't know what was going on with the motorcycle - whether it was a side car or not or properly lit. On the other hand they seem be assuming the driver of te other vehicle was a "causasian expat". The interesting thing about it is that the foreigner's details seem very obscure. I know for certain that foreigners who have had serious incidents like this have paid their way out of publicity and avoided serious prosecution.

It's not just down to taxes though, is it? It's the amount of money that comes into the country. At the height of entries 2018, bout 40 million people expended the population of Thailand par annum and they ALL spent money brought in from abroad.... apparently about 20% of the GDP.

UK workers suffer biggest hit to their wages since records began
Thunglom replied to Scott's topic in World News
Productivity is largely a management problem and restrictions due to Brexit have shrunk the available industry etc. UK is below US France and Germany but above Italy, Canada and Japan...... Before Brexit, UK was on track to be te largest economy in theEU - over France and Germany, but now the UK economy is about to go into recession and ranks worst in the G7 jut above Russia. -

Never has one government created so many problems in such a short period time.... Collapse of the water system Prices of gas/energy out of control NHS - in crisis - No Dentists Queues at A&E Trained and skilled workers sent back to EU Inflation over 10% - inflation is caused by businesses and banking - the wages haven't gone up yet. Foodbanks serving people who actually have jobs because of low wages PM having a sulk WAR IN EUROPE. This is a government elected on one issue alone "Get Brexit done" - they have no idea how to actually govern They didn't anticipate any of the consquences Now they just cover up after cover up and blame Covid Now the dust is settling they are running out of excuses and things they can blame. e.g. -Energy price cap in UK is over £4000 by the new year - in France it's 4% -

Just about everything predicted in "project fear" has happened. Boris and co were elected on a single issue (Brexit) and have proved incapable of actually governing. They just spend their time trying to cover up the biggest political cockup in UK history. sad things that Brexit is only just beginning to bite now the clouds of Covid are settling. -
"The company offered to do a full repair and give her a 30,000 baht extra payment in cash and extend the warranty by two years" - this is NOT acceptable - no car this damaged will even be properly roadworthy. Looks like she should have a new car. I've had a few run-ins with Mitsubishi and Nissan. The problem usually starts with the dealership who don't seem to get an=y support from the manufacturer. by going to the manufacturer, I've got results in the ed even if the fault was with the dealer. I can't believe the dealership haven't offered a new car after the amount of damage they did....I also can't conceive of circumstances where they could justify this damage occurring - what on earth were they doing????? Many cars with that amount of damage would fail had worthiness tests. The airbags alone will cost thou=sands of dollars ( did they go off?) It is a sad example of how consumer law in Thailand is still in the dark ages, and quite appalling that the dealer and manufacturer haven't quickly replaced the vehicle

I've found a tour company now in Chiang Mai. I also have contacted my old 4x4 specialist. The problem being if they rent me a vehicle, it will be massively expensive. As for tyres - well there are AT tyres and there are AT tyres - I suspect the normal run-of-the-mill rental companies won't fit much in the way of grip. That' why I was looking for a specialist 4x4 rental company.

Try spot welding a washer onto the plug and see if you can pull and turn at the same time - or get a garage to do it - it's only a 10 minute job. Te other thing to bear in mind is that the thread in the casing may still be OK and just the soft bolt has stopped its thread. apparently if that doesn't work, you can access the diff front the pro shaft side. -

There NEVER is 100% blame in an RTI - and trying to attribute blame is a mug's game.
