My understanding is that you retain yourpassport for ID purposes, at least that is what my letterfrom VFS said.

Yes, you save some money by not doing a test before flying but even if your test was negative, arriving in Thailand and testing positive here and off you into quarantine.
They did not care if you were 10-20 hours before tested negative, what matters is if you test positive here.

 

Now their game is even easier. You can't argue that you tested negative from where you departed.

But! but! you can argue if you test before you fly.   I have arranged my pre flight test for 2 p.m. on the day I fly,result 3 hours later,and I fly 3 hours after test result.  In between these times I will be  isolated in the Business lounge. For my journey I am wearing a bio suit and my seat on the plane is on its own in Business.    And all accompanied by photo evidence throughout the journey.   Just before arrival, I will administer an ATK test and to the hotel I have arranged a private car from the hotel.

They want an argument, i will give them one!

Etihad still requires vaccination certificate to be uploaded before departure.

I have the TP to return based on my current Passport.  I intend to obtainanew Passport whilst in UK.   When I arrive back at Suvarabhumi,with TP based on old passport with corners removed and also containing my Non-O Visa, Retirement Stamp and Re-Entry Stamp and  a new passport devoid of any stamps, what problem, if any, am I likely to encounter from Thai Immigration?

I also submitted my application at 10:15 yesterday (2Mar) and they had amended the application from last week.  Took me about 20mins to submit- I had prepared docs in advance  -and at 21:30 same day  received my pass.    

Can't complain about that!

! March has arrived and the TP application is still asking "less than 5Days' and 'More than 5Days'.  

As I have already indicated that I am returning to Thailand I cannot say less than 5Days and if I indicate more than 5 Days,then I have to supply details of Day 5  hotel, which of course,as we all know, isno longer required.

Simply because as far as I am aware, those countries have not invaded another,  Money is the motivating factor in Thailand, so the answer to the question is that as long as there in money on the table,Thailand wil not have any concern that innocent people are dying and more will die if Putin releases the nuclear option.
