  1.  Advice please. When completing the application forthe TP what do I click fof Day 5,which is no longer applicable.

If I don't click oneof the three options, itdoesn't allow me to proceed.

Or as my return is not until April and Day 5 doesn't cease until 1 March,do I have to wait to submit the application?

Why? What say do they have in their unelected leaders actions? Much the same as in any country. They and their compatriots are just cannon fodder.

I would suggest you are wrong in your comment above regardig Putin being unelected,  After the resignation of Yeltsin, Putin became acting president, and less than four months later was elected outright to his first term as president and was reelected in 2004. As he was then constitutionally limited to two consecutive terms as president, Putin served as prime minister again from 2008 to 2012 under Dmitry Medvedev, and returned to the presidency in 2012 in an election marred by allegations of fraud and protests; he was reelected again in 2018'       Therefore I would further suggest the Russian people have it in their power to remove him.

You can make allegations of fraud wherever, all you want, but until you are prepared to get off your backside and take to the street enmasse, bad/corrupt leaders will contine to thrive.

I therefore repeat my comment 'Good, I sincerely hope so.   Not because I want to see the Russian people suffer but because the economic suffering they will undoubtedbly experience and revulsion of actions being taken their name, may persuade them that they can no longer tolerate this despot and they will do something to ensure he is removed.

I will not, however, be holding my breath!

Interested nations should take lessons from the French!!

PCR tests on omicron can sometimes fail to detect the virus in the early stages . A pre flight and on arrival pcr test could be possibly be carried out within a 48 hour period and both tests miss the virus detection . I am not going to be popular either that when I say that the safest bet would be a pre flight and on arrival PCR test followed by a 5 day quarantine and an end of quarantine test .  Either that or open up world travel to fully vaccinated tourists with proof of booster certs . Herein lies the problem on believing that all certs are genuine. Finally there have been some major steps with the use of anti viral oral medicines that are proving a success in hospitals and thus mitigate the use of ventilators , keeping patients out of I C U and freeing up the high level of intensive nursing . However omicron is not to be underestimated as it can be fatal or render life changing illnesses , especially to the non- vaccinated . Food for thought , some countries are charging non jabbed patients for treatment in their I C U wards

You are right there Sherlock, your suggestion is not appreciated.   You should seek a position with the Thai government and join the team that comes up with all the rediculous beaurocracy currently ensuring would be tourists to other more accomodating coutries.

  4. I am flying to UK with Etihad shortly and have been informed by them that my flight will re-fuel in Phuket.   Apparently passengers will remain on the aircraft whilst it is taking place,   Other than they don't havea re-fuelling facility at Suvarnabhumi, does anyone know why it's Phuket.

And the requirement for the insurance, stating that it must cover the entire duration of yout stay in Thailand is, again, a contradiction of many of the posts in this forum that 30 days insurance cover is fine for long term extension of stay holders. Has this ever been "clarified" by anyone ?

I recall that back in November Richard Barrow met with the top brass of theThai MFA and was told that insurance coverage for around 30 days would be sufficient. Maybe they were referring to tourists as they never refer to 'retirees'   Can Richard Barrow confirmordeny this to put the matter to rest please?

Well said but that won't go down well, here!  Actual statistics and facts are not appreciated by the majority of Thai-bashing members whose preference is for myths, anecdotal hearsay and unjustified speculation!

Based on your figure of 3.3% that's 1842 who have tested postive in the first 10 days of February if the figure of 55823 arrivals is correct..

  7. I apologise profusley forlabouring this question and would appreciate any first hand knowledge of the situation.

I am 83 years old and will shortly be going to UK to see my Son and Daughter.   Because of my age I am advised by brokers to use TGIA.

The TGIA website only offers a period of 30 days.   However, I am told that the coverage should be for the length of my Retirement Stamp.

Is TGIA Insurance only for visitors to Thailand or would 30 days be sufficient even though I will not have a return ticket at the end of the

    days ?

Ignore that popup message since it really means nothing.

You can select non-o on the insurance application and it will not affect getting the Thailand Pass.

The Thai embassy in the UK has nothing to do with your Thailand Pass. The are approved here in Thailand.

The site will not allow me to ignore the pop up and wants to know the purpose of my travel to Thailand.    There is no way that I can see to avoid choosing answering whether you are a tourist et al.   Nowhere to say I am returing on a Re-Entry Stanp unless I am missing something on the site.

Help please as I am sure many have overcome this.

  9. i would appreciate advice on the choice of type of Visa held when completing an application forTP Insurance.

As I understand it, anyone applying for a Non Immigrant O Visa for the first time must obtain medical coverage of 400K... However this does not apply to those returning to Thailand using a Re-Entry stamp having been living in Thailand prior to the Re-Entry.

Unfortunately if Non Immigrant O Visa is indicated in the TGIA Application template, you are informed that you need to seek appropriate medical insurance from one of the independent Thai Insurers.

How do I get around this as RTE Lodon assure me that I do not require medical insurance to retuurn on a Re-Entry stamp.

Took this chart to my local hospital as they were the oneswho cancelled my appointmnet for this Friday on the basis that it was a 6 month wait for the various vaccines.

They said that the chart is datedl ast year and that the policy had changed andcame into forcethis week and that I had to wait 6 months.
