  1. With the negative 'result' required within 72 hours of departure, add on 24 hours before receiving the result and a 12+ hour flight and transit to hotel to be tested again, the timeframe can easily become 4 1/2 days between tests for some travellers
  2. The four times i've used the SETV 60 + 30 day extension, my return flight has been 88-90 days later. It is the route i will be taking again next month.
  3. Unless i'm mistaken, i believe the time frame is wider than 72 hours. Get tested Monday at midday, receive result Tuesday midday (72 hours starts here), fly Friday morning on a flight of up to 12 hours, pass through the airport and travel to the hotel before being tested again. In all probability, it is 4 - 4 1/2 days between pre flight test and arrival test.
  4. Personally, i can deal with all this, but i will not book anything until i can go out for a beer with my friends. Fingers crossed, that is not too far away.
  5. I, like many others posting here, have a home in Thailand and would love to arrive in country, stroll through arrivals to Hertz, pick up my hire car and drive the 2 1/2 hours to my home instead of staying in a hotel and awaiting a negative test result, but...... I also understand that the way pre departure tests are carried out leaves a 3 or 4 day window after you are tested, where it is possible to contract Covid and then sit on a plane and possibly infect others. In my opinion the arrival test is needed to pick up on the few that may have become infected after the pre departure test. It would be a logistical nightmare if after testing we were all allowed to dissapear all over the country, stopping to collect supplies, going out to eat etc, only to get a positive result and then need to be located and collected by provincial authorities and transported to wherever they deem fit. The one night in a hotel reduces the chance of an infected person unknowingly spreading the virus and everyone is easily located. Waiting for prohibition to end before booking a flight ????
  6. As we have all witnessed many times before, any Thai with an official title loves nothing more than hearing their own voice and being photographed, and i think this is one such occasion. It was stated yesterday that the CCSA would deliver "A clear and actual plan for Thailand’s reopening to welcome fully vaccinated foreigners will be discussed and finalized within 1-2 days, the director of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration’s (CCSA) operations center stated today, October 18th." I will wait and see what tomorrows plan is and wether it makes it into the Royal Gazette
  7. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2021/09/30/tourism-chief-plans-cryptocurrency-tourism/ It is good to hear those higher up the food chain making noise about, and realising that the COE and other hoops to enter Thailand are what will ultimately make or break Thailands plan to get tourists back. Lets hope these words don't fall on deaf ears.
