Officials Review Impacts of 60-Day Visa-Free Policy
Overall, i think the 60 day visa exempt/VOA has been a bit of a disaster. To the casual observer, Thailand must look like the wild west currently, the daily news reports of unruly, illegal, and bad behaviour by tourists has exploded since the 60 day rule was introduced. That said, it suits me, 60 days and 30 day extension, it saves me a £35 visa fee and an hour of online applications.

Anutin Plans to Scrap Alcohol Zoning, Extend Hours to 4AM
I guess being able to stay open until 4am will only really benefit the high tourist areas, in quieter areas there just aren't the punters to justify staying open to 4am. Where i am, near Hua Hin, during the week it is common to see most of the bars shut at 11.

Thailand's House Passes Landmark Clean Air Bill
All talk unless we see regular prosecutions for farmers burning and vehicles belching out black smoke.

Tourists Face 100000 Fine for Banned Sunscreens in Thai Parks
Looking for easy targets yet again. Anything that requires hard work and organisation gets ignored or swept under the carpet. The regular oil spills from pipelines in the bay of Thailand being just one.

“British Teen Found Alive After Days Lost in Thai Jungle”
Glad he's ok. Being lost anywhere without enough water is bad, in a tropical climate it's a survival situation.

Thailand Tightens Tax Rules for Foreign Workers
What's that rant all about ? What he said is very clear, Earn less than 150,000 per year and it's tax free. He did not claim ALL Thais earn less than 12,500 a month. "All the ones earning less than 150,000 thb per year. Just like the foreigners".

Minister Vows to Impose Long-Delayed B300 Tourism Tax
Some posters have mentioned people choosing not to come over a £7 tourist tax, i think those tourists have much bigger problems to deal with if a £7 extra expense sways their decision. 300 baht is the price of a meal in reality.

Dirty Cops Out: Thai Police Enforce Immediate Suspensions
We hear this every time a cop is caught and exposed in the media for taking bribes or shaking a tourist down yet nothing ever changes. The country runs on bribes and always will while the average daily wage is so horribly low. It's sort of understandable.

Political Rift: People's Party Faces Backlash for Backing PM
I'd like to think the PP would have weighed up all the options and chosen the one with the best outcome for their future. One mans opinions vs the opinions of many advisors and current party members....Hmmmm. Let's hope they got it right.

Scotsman Detained in Thailand After Ex Flags Passport as Stolen
I'm guessing she had access to his online passport application account, she may have even done the online application herself, he may not of been computer literate. Date of cancellation and travel date in the story could have helped clarify speculation about the UK passport control dropping the ball, procedures lacking or not even knowing about a 'stolen' passport at the time of his departure. Either way, what an evil beetch.
