  1. A policeman can be killed by a rich kid and escape prosecution due to the statute of limitations, yet a group of protesters, interrupting official operations and calling for a resignation can be prosecuted 16 years later. Insert shaking head in disbelief emoji here.
  2. ^ Correct. And if any corruption is found it will take 5 years for anything to be done about it.
  3. When Thailand gets criticised by any international agency for its behaviour or actions the concerns are dismissed, now they want international support. You can't have it both ways.
  4. Corruption is ingrained, a part of life, it's here to stay.
  5. Border security that can be defeated with wire cutters doesn't seem very secure to me.
  6. I have an account in Thailand but when i travel elsewhere i use my Halifax Clarity credit card, no fees for cash and transactions when travelling. I guess other banks also offer these cards.
  7. Agreed. Only happens twice a year but having a Thai in control of a vehicle that i'm travelling in is not a relaxing experience.
  8. A believer will always be able to make a connection between what is predicted and an event in their lives. A generalised prediction in astrology, read by a million people will get a percentage of imagined accuracy. A stranger will bring news......
  9. Something as simple as vaping being illegal and enforced can potentially push millions of people to choose a different location to Thailand. So many things need to change here if Thailand wants to keep tourists coming back.
  10. No thanks. Right now i'd rather take my chances in Surin than go to the Phuket hell hole.
  11. No need to resign, dad has talked to the judges.
  12. I'm sure some would have been used by now if they had them
  13. Each dish looked sad and tiny, got her some oh so important views though.
  14. A truly shocking statistic. When given the chance at an early age it is so easy to learn and can save your and others lives.
  15. Take away what was promised to the poor, realise the poor hate them for it and now reallocate it to look after the rich under the guise of help towards the tariff increases which opens up the doors for it to be lost track of and end up in the pockets of those administering it. And some claim Thailand isn't a third world country.
  16. Thailand shot itself in the foot with the 60 day visa free for everyone, too many dodgy people found a way in and are probably still here. We read about all the fighting, illegal and unsavoury behaviour every day in the English/Thai news publications and those stories are picked up internationally, word gets around.
  17. If the reports of the fake sales numbers by BYD dealers who have registered their new cars as sold which has led to massive numbers of zero mile second hand cars are true, this could be seen as a desperate move to increase sales in SE Asia. The reports i have read could also be western scaremongering though, hard to tell.
  18. In an ideal world, he gets banged up and his daughter has to resign.
