If the border were really the crisis that you claim, you should be angry at Congressional Republicans who refuse to do anything about it. -
A question for the experts: Given this is a Federal case, what power would an elected Trump have to stop collection of the verdict? I am assuming that he wouldn't care about the political fallout - what could he possibly do? I am thinking something extreme, like launching a Federal criminal case against Ms. Carroll, which could stymie her, I don't know.

As this is a Federal case, the appeal will not be a repeat trial. Instead, Trump's lawyers will have to argue points of law. If successful, there could be a new trial. In rare cases, the verdict could be thrown out, and Trump could walk away. But one probable aspect of the second appeal is argument about the size of the verdict.

Trump was mostly interested in her not telling the story before the 2016 election. I'm not sure how long her NDA was good for, but they are not indefinite. And, I think her violation of the NDA was legal testimony, which an NDA cannot bar. -

my guess is that Trump will slowly sink in the polls until after Labor Day. and then the news will report that "Trump is catching up", while the seasoned politicos explain that Trump really isn't catching up. The "catching up" will mostly be reported by journalists who have never covered a presidential campaign before.
