As for the incitement to storm the Capitol: "We will stop the steal" "If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore' "We are going to the Capitol" "You will have an illegitimate president. That is what you will have, and we can't let that happen." And then Trump watched for hours as his minions assaulted the police and threatened to hang Mike Pence. Why didn't Trump stop them?

On January 6, Trump incited a crowd to go to the Capitol to fight. Then, he sat back and watched for hours as the police were assaulted, and he did nothing. That alone warrants jail time.

Speaking of contested allegations, remember when Trump's lawyers came out of the gate in response to the search of Mar-A-Lago claiming that the documents were declassified by Trump and planted by the FBI? Or Trump was allowed classified documents by the Presidential Records Act.... whatever happened to those defenses?
