Third Suspect In Murder Of German Businessman Nabbed In Kanchanaburi
Danderman123 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The usual outcome of these cases is that we never hear the outcome. If the perps are very wealthy, they are deported. In this case, I suspect that the defendants will claim that one of them performed the killing, which was a big shock to them. So, one may bear the brunt of the penal or financial damages. -

Being Single VS Marrying a Thai Lady
Danderman123 replied to Danderman123's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
One Thai lady I often write about is actively pursuing me. She is 40, but gets a lot of customers. She has a Farang boyfriend and a Thai husband, but tells me that she is tired of both of them. Somebody might suggest that I go for it with her, but I know her too well: I do hear her talking to her husband on the telephone, not very pleasant as she screams orders to him, which he ignores. She secretely gambles, so she has no money. She used to play cards, but her game was raided by the police and she went to the monkey house. She gets drunk every night. After an hour or so, she is pleasant, but after that, either becomes an angry drunk, or unconscious. She claims she lost interest in sex 10 years ago. Bummer for a bargirl. So, its much better to remain single and not have to deal with the consequences. -
Stupid me! I lent a lot of money to a Thai woman.
Danderman123 replied to gingerandtabby's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Here's a different perspective on this topic: A lady friend mentioned to a Thai bar owner that she needed money. His response: "I can help you". He proceeded to hand her 50,000 baht in bits and pieces. 6 months later, he asked "when are you going to pay me back?" So "help" was Thai code for "lend" in this case. -
How to deal with a card game addicted wife?
Danderman123 replied to Toughsituations's topic in Marriage and Divorce
It's not just cards, there are cellphone slot games for hardcore addicts. Plus, Numbers, although the latter doesn't cause huge losses quickly. Numbers addicts post their winnings on social media. If they don't post, it means they are losing. -
I recently went to the village with a lady, respectfully sleeping the first night with her in what passed for a hotel, got up in the morning, went to another village with another lady, left there and met another lady and went to her rather remote village (actually just a house out in the middle of nowhere). It didn't mean anything.

Why are you giving her money if she works for an insurance company? More to the point, in Thailand, a lady takes money from a sucker, and gives it to her Thai boyfriend. And, no, taking a well financed sucker to the village is a major red flag. She wants to gain some face by showing she has captured a walking ATM.

AOT Unveils Expansion Plans for Don Mueang Airport

Now, if they could just extend the airport rail link beyond Phaya Thai..... -
It was much better than I expected. Probably the only flaw was non-introduction of characters with no background information. They just appeared with zero indication of their motivation, apart from some scraps later on. So there were some "who are they?" moments. Apart from that, the movie was pretty good. Better bone up on your Greek history, though. I gave my Thai lady friend a briefing on Archimedes before the movie. Sure enough, what I told her featured in the movie. Unfortunately, she had zoned out during my briefing and was totally confused by the historical references.

Electric baht busses for Pattaya......Good idea or Bad idea.....

In theory, the electric baht bus would charge after it's route were complete. You sound like some in 1910 claiming that horseless carriages are useless, because of the gasoline running out thing. -

Don't bother mansplaining to your Thai lady, if its not about Thai food, Thai singers, or her family, she will fall asleep. -

Being Single VS Marrying a Thai Lady
Danderman123 replied to Danderman123's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Gentlemen, I am only talking about ladies with no common interests with their Farang, and so, little communication. My point is that its possible to have communication with a bargirl, if you talk about her interests - which center on bars and bargirls. Stray from that, and she is ready to sleep. Which means, once removed from the bar scene, things get quiet quickly. -

Being Single VS Marrying a Thai Lady
Danderman123 replied to Danderman123's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
As long as the girlfriend is in the bar environment, fine. But, once away, nothing to talk about any more. And, in the bar environment, the meter in her head continues to operate, reminding her of the baht she could be making if she works bar. -
Yeah, this is a new take on an old subject. Its obvious from this forum that marrying a Thai lady is fraught with perils, from her going crazy after marriage, financial needs, family demands, etc. But one issue is common among many failed marriages - lack of interest between husband and wife, ie nothing to talk about. You see hints of this in bars where a Farang will buy a drink for a lady and they just sit there silently, until the Farang sees another Farang and they talk about Farang stuff while the lady is ignored. On the other hand, I know a lot of bargirls here in Pattaya, and can talk about the one thing the ladies like to talk about - other bargirls. Who broke up with their Thai boyfriend, who is marrying a customer, who is borrowing money from everyone, lots to talk about. But, take the same lady out of her bar environment, and there is nothing to talk about.

Problem with increasingly aggressive & violent wife
Danderman123 replied to JammG's topic in Family and Children
This is a major downside of legally binding yourself to a Thai lady - you never know if and when she will inform you of some million baht debt to a loan shark. There is no way to know ahead of time, and not much you can do about it. If you refuse to pay, your life will be a living Hell.
