Pretending to be a modern nation worthy of hosting F1 races is one thing, being one is another. The only way they’ll get it is by bribing F1 officials. There’s no other tangible benefits to F1.

    Last year during Songkran festivities we were having lunch at friends house and the traffic police friend of family on duty was there. He was drunk and showing off his gun to the crowd. Later he left on his bike back to work. Now you see why meetings, laws etc hasn’t worked.

    I don’t think you understand the power of advertising. It will certainly encourage kids to start drinking watching their favorite celebrities endorsing it.

    Any interference from you that has the potential to adversely affect the family members either financially or relationship wise will come back and bite you in the back side. You’re not on the same level as the family members so the expectation is you stay out of family decisions and will only be asked to get involved if you can contribute financially to resolve issues.

    You can’t switch work permits. Your work permit is tied to your current employer and will be gone. You won’t be able to get a work permit with your wife’s company due to lack of sufficient Thai workers. Also the type of work you’d want to do at your wife’s company needs to satisfy work permit requirements.

    With no road safety enforcement I can imagine guys who now pretending to be racing drivers will mimic F1 racers causing even more deaths and misery on the roads. Also wondering how PM2.5 will affect F1 cars performance.

    You missed the point. There’s a difference between asylum seekers persecuted back home and criminals/economic refugee opportunists by-passing the proper immigration channel.
