  1. I was there. Did a lot of soul searching. Not a single soul. Heel to toe burnt.
  2. Maybe a disgruntled customer came back and settled the dispute the Thai way. Incidentally the owner of one of the major flip flop brands lives in my village. Conspiracy anyone?
  3. Indeed. In addition lots of mocy taxi, police, and nosy bystanders (including yours truly) with their mobile phones wandering around pretending to be future CNN reporters.
  4. I’ll update once we learn what happened. I’ve bought thongs (flip flops) from them many times. Large tent, packed, hard to walk around. Would’ve been easy for someone to set fire to it. At nights they just pull down plastic cover.
  5. lol. Thai politicians (or former politicians) think rest of the world cares about what they think. In this case this guy was meant to stay out of everything. Very difficult for narcissists to do that.
  6. Happened this morning next to my village. Couldn’t help to notice some interesting stuff as the brave firefighters tackled the beast. video_517039223489429858-xcZMp99H.mp4
  7. Not even an apology from the family? I guess they must’ve payed an arm and a leg to have the morons freed
  8. Just make sure she doesn’t wander around offering massages in the UK while you’re at work. Check her social media accounts. Maybe she’s already booked a few clients.
  9. I call it a draw. They’re both right and wrong at the same time.
  10. One major difference would be more tourist riding there. They cause a lot of accidents due to lack of experience and understanding of Thai driving etiquette or simply riding for the first time.
  11. Not just another committee, rather a joint committee they say needs to be established. The joint will be supplied by the protesters and members formed from government. Now that’s a collaboration.
  12. No plan for compensation? Seriously? You operate contrary to law and expect compensation? Wonder how many kids have been affected. If anything I’d fine or imprison any shop that sold the stuff for non-medical purposes.
  13. Well they didn’t act in good faith. If they did, they’d sell it for medical purposes only. Instead they opened up in touristy and shady locations targeting recreational users. IMO most in fact acted in bad faith.
  14. How about he was a police officer. As face saving tactic by police they disowned it.
  15. Who’d wanna see hairy armpit images anyway.
  16. This guy’s a genius. Ordered to put the fire out and ordered the rescue of trapped people. What would Thais do without his leadership. In this case all of bkk would’ve been on fire trapping millions. What a wise hero.
  17. Thai corruption extends its tentacles far and beyond.
  18. On a serious note…you’re 100% correct.
  19. Not quite. Recreational use was not allowed but due to poor management it got out of hand where just about every shop that popped up was selling it for recreational use
  20. What does “top tourist destination” mean? Vague.
  21. On the other hand, some elderly women would feel good about it.
  22. Police run those places. They’ll close this with the usual photo op then re-open next door.
  23. Immigration police I believe have the right to know that you’re here legally. If you can prove it any other way then you’ve done well.
  24. Regardless. Under no circumstances is a man let alone in the course of doing business should physically assault a customer let alone a woman. Period
