  1. Yeah? This will cut into staff TikTok, fb, and games they play during work hours. It goes against Thai ethics, so “CAN NOT”. Next idea?
  2. Pilot for Thai Airways would be the logical move.
  3. I think the ad is too generous to Thais. They’re good at lip service but delivery usually takes longer than promised.
  4. A man from Thailand……lol this site’s standard of journalism is getting poorer and poorer.
  5. Go to any porn site and you’ll be inundated with Thai gambling sites offering all kinds of betting, mostly casino style. How hard would it be for police to catch them. They know all about this since most of them are browsing them during work hours. It seems only when the relationship between police and the gambling sites sours that they decide to take them out. Otherwise business as usual.
  6. You’re right. Although there are 3-4 aisle dedicated to it. The guy approached me. So out of politeness I showed the photo so he can “help” me.
  7. You missed the point.
  8. Hospitals try to extract as much ฿฿฿ as they can. Looks like they succeeded.
  9. Despite happening a lot of time still boils my blood when shop assistant say don’t have. Bought a light fixture from thaiwasadu a few days ago. Took a photo and went back in today to buy another one. Showed the photo, got an instant “don’t have” response. Kept my composure and explained the situation. He calls another guy, took me to location with about dozen of the light fittings. My approach is to ask to be taken to general vicinity and I look for myself. Laziness and lack of ambition of some Thai males on display again and again.
  10. Hang on. Sales is prohibited but not consumption. Right? What if a shop gives one away. The customer tips the shop for being a good guy. We all know where to get it from during those days. Don’t we? Just another ill-planned action from gov.
  11. Come to think of it dancing with hijab with nothing under, occasionally revealing the forbidden parts can be appealing to some. Ok let’s open a bar together with that theme. I bet a lot of Muslim and as you say some farangs may be a good target. And the name? “72 virgins”, “haram agogo”. Any thoughts?
  12. 1) remove it with an angle grinder or bolt cutter 2) get a similar padlock. Put it on. If a repeat offense, he’ll think he or someone else is locking it. If you want to know why this is being done invest in some surveillance operation to find out. Then you can return the favor, or confront him. Maybe you shouldn’t park in that spot, at least to his understanding.
  13. This dress code initiative should be implemented in pattaya. All bargirls and gogo dancers must wear loose clothing, long pants or skirt, long sleeve shirts and cover their hair. Maybe a hijab.
  14. What? No sex? The least they could do was to relieve him, or them, or whichever he fancied. Poor guy.
  15. We tried that a couple of years ago. In our case the special deal was interest free for 5 years and the usual accessories such as tinting, floor mats etc. However we found out the deal was offered by the company to all dealers. Therefore there was no specials exclusive to the Motor Show. Regarding delivery they will charge you for it. Basically a local Honda dealership has been chosen to be at the show by paying a price. So you’ll buy from a dealership and not the parent company. I could be wrong but I believe it will be cheaper to buy in Phuket.
  16. Your knowledge of Thai women seems limited to bar girls in pattaya. Does not apply to this case.
  17. A few days late, the IO who was blow drying and straightening the colleagues hair behind the counter came to my window, holding the blow dryer in hand with 2-3 IO looking and listening in, all smiles and in cheerful mood. Sorry you need to pay 2000 she said. But if you don’t need receipt, you can pay cash 1000. Done, I exclaimed. She turned around and continued blow drying and straightened the colleagues hair. In and out in 5 mins. I never felt so Thai. Corruption works….
  18. I bet the driver is in on it. Interesting when police extortion is reported they use terms like imposters. I bet they’re real cops. Another scam by police/gov is unless crime is reported no action taken. This allows police to intimidate victims so they won’t complain. It has worked for them well. Every now and then an anomaly like this happens that they diffuse quickly unless it gets out of hand such as media frenzy or victim persistence. Shame on them.
  19. My wife had hers done. If it makes her really happy you should be supportive. It’s a simple yet invasive surgery. Clinics that offer specials suggests they’re not popular hence not good. We went with one of the best in Thailand. No advertising or promos as they’re fully booked. The cost was 150k. You can opt for various brands, material etc which dictates the price. I doubt under 10k to be the total cost. Don’t risk it.
  20. No such thing as international license. What you have is a permit which is basically a translation of your license. The signatories to the international driving permit will have to accept them. It appears Japan is one of them.
  21. A misunderstanding. He thought she was Russian.
  22. Yeah right. Serendipitous more likely.
