  1. A two state solution requires at least two parties. You keep going on about one of them. Not a word about the other. The blockade of the Gaza Strip was not always in place. It exists for reasons mainly to do with Hamas. Israel leaving the West Bank, free access to Jordan and no assurances a worse version of the 7/10 attack (or worse) repeating. This when you yourself claim on many posts that Hamas cannot be eliminated etc. What could go wrong? There was no claim or statement made to the effect that hitting or even removing Hamas will completely solve the conflict.
  2. Mashaal: Hamas ‘well aware of consequences’ of attack, liberation demands ‘sacrifices’ https://www.timesofisrael.com/mashaal-hamas-well-aware-of-consequences-of-attack-liberation-demands-sacrifices/
  3. BBC Ceases Using ‘Militants’ Label for Hamas But ‘Terrorist’, Acknowledges Shift in Language https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/bbc-ceases-using-militants-label-for-hamas-but-terrorist-acknowledges-shift-in-language/ar-AA1izMXw Better late than never.
  4. Israel sets out 3 phases of war; will seek new ‘security regime’ once Hamas vanquished https://www.timesofisrael.com/gallant-says-after-hamas-vanquished-israel-will-seek-new-security-regime-in-gaza/ And here is a link to a non-official take on Israel's plans. The author is usually well connected and possess insight on such things. It's a long read, though: Here's an outline of a war plan to change the situation in Gaza https://www.ynetnews.com/article/sysmhx1fp
  5. French intelligence points to Palestinian rocket, not Israeli airstrike, for Gaza hospital blast https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-war-france-intelligence-7be0d59b9ceb58bbf2f03c5dc8222356
  6. Fine. Now try and apply this to the Gaza Strip, Hamas leadership and who supports it internationally.
  7. How far is it from Al Udeid Air Base to Al Jazeera offices?
  8. Hamas did threaten to execute hostages. That too was all over the media (and posted here) some days ago. But regardless - do you think taking civilians hostage earns Hamas international cookie points?
  9. There were already reports of Hamas commanders killed, and a couple taken in raids. Posted on the main topic, I think. Tunnels run under buildings. Did you actually not get this?
  10. Well, sending heavily armed terrorists backed up by thousands of rockets into Israel did not, and will not eliminate Israel - but indeed resulted in the death of many innocents. While totally eliminating Hamas might not doable, it is certainly possible to deal a strong enough blow to render it a non-threat (at least not on par with how things were). Israelis still mourn their own dead. Somehow you don't seem to think that Palestinians will lose much sleep over these casualties. What does it say about your view of the Palestinians? How have Hamas taken the 'brutalisation' of young Palestinians into account?
  11. Maybe a frigate is better suited than a submarine for fighting transnational crime.
  12. Some of the Thai public and posters on this forum were long complaining about the submarine deal and associated costs. Turns out that the old saying 'careful what you wish for' got something to it.
  13. Comes with a way higher price tag. Purchasing a bunch of smaller vessels, and aerial assets at a lower cost would make a better return on investment.
  14. Calling a terrorist organization like Hamas 'mafia' comes off as an attempt to minimize things.
  15. Hamas members do not steer clear of civilian targets. Quite the opposite.
  16. Governments take care of their own first. That's how it is. At least better than Hamas government, who actively puts the people in harm's way. Hamas is not a 'mafia', but a terrorist organization. If Hamas wasn't bent on digging in among the civilians, the death toll would be lower. If Hamas would not have carried out its attack on Israel, there would be no bombings. If Hamas bothered investing in bomb shelters, there would be less Gazan deaths. But go on making it all about Israel.... Hamas enjoys significant support from the civilian population. Civilians participated, as a mob, in the attack on Israel and atrocities committed. Civilians cheered and celebrated the attack. Painting all Gazans as innocent and peaceful, or trying to claim these are two totally different groups is misleading. And again, only complaints about Israel's 'disregard' when it comes to international law. Funny that.
  17. Maybe in an ideal world. In this world citizens (not only American) do not get this level of choice regarding taxes. Elections sometimes allow a change of where money goes to, but even that doesn't allow for individual and specific choices.
  18. Said the poster previously claiming not to know much on this.... If they wanted that, it would have happened long ago. I'm ashamed you're a member of this forum, what of it?
  19. How is Hamas 'a small faction'? Hamas won the last general Palestinian elections, and polls since routinely show mass popular support. Would a 'small faction' be able to control the Gaza Strip for over a decade? Produce thousands of rockets and so on? Not buying into your feigned ignorance, and them 'questions'. Even if one had no clue, it's practically impossible not know these sort of things following the news for the last couple of weeks. Even dodgier coming from a new(?) addition to the membership. At minimum, peace requires two parties. Somehow you have 'questions' only regarding one of them. The conference in Cairo is not about providing a solution for the entire conflict.
  20. I should think it attendance by invitation. Neither was invited, as far as I'm aware. What with public opinion in Egypt being what it is, maybe not the best of times for Israelis and Americans to visit? Is Hamas being represented?
  21. American citizens were murdered and abducted. One of the reasons for USA involvement. That was the context of the posts above.
  22. Said a poster who's main source of information is Al Jazeera..... No one denies Hamas's attack and barbaric murder of civilians either (except Hamas, that is). There would be no bombings if that would not have happened. But do go on about propaganda and truth.
  23. How many loaded 'questions' do you have?
  24. Please share how have you 'suffered since for that'.
  25. So far, seems like most Gazans wisely chose not to stay at their homes and die for the cause, as urged by Hamas. But do go on about 'resolve'.
