Germany now confirms it WILL send 14 Leopard Tanks !
SunnyinBangrak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes indeed. In war both sides will suffer. As I tried to say yesterday, I do not believe the Germans at home are prepared for what could happen, and I suspect the question they ask will be, "why?? how could this happen to us"? If Germany is under direct threat by Russia then it must defend itself, if it is going on overseas military adventures to get involved in a non NATO conflict to please superficial MSM consumers which has nothing whatsoever to do with Germany then it is so very foolish. -
Germany set to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, Der Spiegel reports

I thought he was knocking on heavens door? Is it possible that(if true) such a man might not be thinking rationally or with any regard for his personal safety? -

SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
No absolutely not. But I am aware of western "interference" in Ukraine's political landscape, which will certainly have been provocative from the Russian viewpoint. The narrative that there is no reason whatsoever that Russia should feel provoked and NATO are blameless, and we should all choose this as the hill to die on is IMO very misguided. I am also aware that pre invasion the western media narrative was that Ukraine had problems with a movement of evil political extremists fond of the German military of the 30's, don't hear much/anything about that these days. I think any unwelcome interference in other foreign nations is unacceptable. Whatever happened during Trump's term that kept Russia's neck wound in is worth repeating. Obama and Biden both saw Russian invasions of the Ukraine under their watch. Walking softly with a big stick, while encouraging negotiation and understanding = good. Firing missiles, rolling the tanks, and thinking the radioactive fallout wont reach the Thai beaches = bad. -

That you had to state that in the first place is a sign that the escalation of the war with Russia has not been fully thought out. -
Big companies must learn to stay out of politics. I can understand the filthy rich bosses wanting themselves portrayed as woke modern day saviours, but from Disney to Unilever playing politics has been a total disaster for the shareholders - and in Unilever's case for the boss too - Jope was fired. No idea what all the fuss is about over M and M's, but best stay out of divisive politics and sell the best chocolate they can for the best price, that is their job at the end of the day.

An end to life on earth is not a good thing, no matter how much you loath Russia. Please try to keep things into perspective. Peace is the only meaningful goal, all wars are bad. Failure to negotiate and warped media narratives misinforming citizens of both countries take most blame.- 188 replies

"Months before the raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence, former President Donald Trump's lawyers recieved instructions to "secure the room" in which he stored his documents, sources told CNN. The sources told CNN aides added a padlock in order to secure the room. " https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-asked-lawyers-add-padlock-office-before-fbi-search-2022-8 There is much evidence that Trump was COOPERATING with the DOJ concerning his stash of classified documents(that he claims to have declassified as is a President's right). I am concerned the repeated phrasing that Trump hid, stole, obstructed etc etc the documents - while there is evidence he was actually cooperating unlike Biden who pretended he didn't have any and stated how could Trump be so careless - is grossly misleading and inaccurate, and using this misinformation to falsely try painting Biden's own classified document scandal as a nothing-burger is not honest.

I expect the Russians will now see Germans as legitimate targets in this war now that they have joined in weaponizing Ukraine. Are the German's merrily going about their business at home prepared to potentially be attacked? Have they thought this through properly? Do they understand the full background to this war? I suspect the answer is no to all these questions.- 188 replies

I see what you are saying. So, what is the "magic number" of classified documents someone without authority can be possessing when the situation changes from a "nothing there there" to the crime of the century? 27? 100? 200? Now most of us here, self included are not lawyers, but this whole claim about it all hinging on a number of documents to determine legality and severity sounds unlikely.

Correct, and that it is happening at all scotches the notion these people want equal treatment for all. How it started.. "The civil rights movement was a struggle for social justice that took place mainly during the 1950s and 1960s for Black Americans to gain equal rights under the law in the United States." https://www.history.com/topics/black-history/civil-rights-movement How it's going.. "San Francisco reparations committee proposes a $5 million payment to each Black resident" https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/19/us/san-francisco-reparations-proposal-reaj/index.html

quote "Perhaps you can explain how Trump's habit of kowtowing to dictators and alienating allies makes America stronger." sounds like a false claim. any supporting evidence for it? Working to achieve worldwide peace with some difficult nations is not "kowtowing to dictators". The historic 4 years of world peace his negotiations allowed was obviously incredibly inconvenient to the democrat narrative, but no need to make up false claims.

Ron dsanblotus? old Donnie? gaslighting of the Covid vaccines? bottom dwelling piece of slime a true maga piece of (insert favorite word here)? Can I assume from all this you do not approve of Mr DeSantis and his campaigns to protect young children from predators(of all shapes, sizes, colors and identities) in the classroom, and want young blacks to be fed misleading narratives that will increase their feelings of being victims and destined to fail in a hostile nation, rather than to be taught the reality that we are all the same and even a layabout can become POTUS with a bit of EFFORT.

We.ve been over this false statement numerous times. There is a good article gentle debunking the disinformation surrounding what the left dishonestly call the "don't say gay bill" which does not include the wording or meaning don't say gay. It is a bill to protect young children in the school system. The WSL article after listing false - but widely accepted as fact among the msm consumers - claims by Jen Psaki and others of the left "None of this criticism is true. The legislation is a response to public-school educators who think parents should stay out of school decisions. But parents have a right to ensure that the curriculum is age appropriate, and that it is focused on learning instead of promoting someone’s cultural agenda. The bill lets them vindicate parental authority." https://www.wsj.com/articles/does-the-dont-say-gay-bill-say-that-11647041916

Germany no longer reliant on Russian energy.
SunnyinBangrak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
"Germany is relying on highly polluting coal for almost a third of its electricity, as the impact of government policies and the war in Ukraine leads producers in Europe’s largest economy to use less gas and nuclear energy. In the first six months of the year, Germany generated 82.6bn kWh of electricity from coal, up 17 per cent from the same period last year, according to data from Destatis, the national statistics office, published on Wednesday." https://www.ft.com/content/9d3c8af8-ae00-4dc5-9e85-579681450c9c Hard not to laugh at the German eco warriors driving around in their 1/3 coal powered EVs and charging their multiple smartphones with 33% coal power. I can almost smell the smokestacks belching thick stinking black clouds. I wonder if proper numbers were available between the total pollution caused by these "environmentally friendly" coal powered cars vs the old and much maligned internal combustion engine powered vehicles?? -
Greta Thunberg detained at German coal protest
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
She is ignorant and misguided, as most fanatics are. As punishment she should be forced to learn about how EVs are made from scratch. Maybe a visit to one of those dreadful mines in the Congo where kids are working for peanuts in hazardous conditions? "“A lot of people [buyers] realise they can no longer shut their eyes and pretend it’s not happening, which was the strategy for quite a while,” https://www.ft.com/content/c6909812-9ce4-11e9-9c06-a4640c9feebb still the strategy now IMHO- 905 replies

Elon Musk begins trial over Tesla tweet that cost him $20m
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
It was a shocking and brazen act of stock manipulation, and the first time I heard of this Elon Musk character. At least that's what it superficially appeared as. I expect they will be able to convict him for this, but having learned more about Musk I suspect the motivation for the tweet was NOT for financial profit, it was more likely a joke which seemed a good idea after partying. The guy is a loose cannon, no surprise he does loose cannon stuff. His exposing the corruption/interference in democracy in the twitter files redeems him from any and all sins past, present and future in my mind. Is one silly tweet worse than the pure evil and years of gaslighting conservatives the twitter files showed happening? It's an ant next to Kilimanjaro. -
After 6 years of persecution what crimes has the guy been convicted of? I remember you guys accusing him of all sorts of stuff (treason, sex crimes, cheating in an election by colluding with Russia hoax, manslaughter of half a million cuz covid etc) without evidence leading up to the recent disaster where the left pinned all hopes of finally nailing him for having classified documents at home and then.......

My haemorrhoids are back. Whats the best treatment?

Mine seemed to have been caused by alcohol, after quitting that they went away never to return. Another +1 for avoiding paper wipes, bum gum is way more gentle. -
No matter how flawed she may be, it has to be better than an unelected military government that completely failed in it's basic mission to clean up the country. It is the wasted opportunity that gets to me. If Thais are miffed the country is about to be run by a fugitive(from Thai "justice" 55) on the run in Dubai they should be blaming Prayuth and Prawit for that.
-
I know there are many many people that have been jailed for simply possessing classified documents they are unauthorized to. I include a link to one, as the wording shreds the silly excuse that it's legal to take classified documents you don't have clearance to take until you get causght. Weldon Marshall, 43, of Sherman, Texas, was sentenced today to 41 months in prison, to be followed by one year of supervised release, for unlawfully retaining national defence information https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/former-defense-contractor-sentenced-unlawfully-retaining-classified-information
-
Now who would blame Trump - the victim of 6 years of persecution and hoaxes from the left, the DOJ and the MSM - for not listening to a word they say. That's what happens when your credibility is shot. From memory I believe Trump effectively told them to pound sand because as a PRESIDENT he had the authority to declassify any document he wants. Something nobody claims the ex VP had. ANy way you look at it this is devastating, and as another poster with an excellent track record of being on the correct side of issues has said, it looks like this media blitz is no accident, likely it's biden's time to go.
-
You are making the unsupported and highly unlikely claim that biden did not know he had illegally taken top secret classified documents and kept them in several unsecure locations. I put it to you it is likely biden knew about these documents for 6 to 8 YEARS depending on when he took them without permission.
-
But do you not understand Joe Biden knew Top Secret classified documents had been found improperly stored in an unsecure location in various properties owned or controlled by himself while at the very same time playing politics attacking Trump for having classified docs in a very secure place at MAL? Surely you can understand why this is an issue? Do Biden and his fans have integrity or not?
