Thailand’s CPF to develop “hybrid” proteins with Future Meat
Mmmm, cardboard flavoured meat, sounds absolutely delicious. ????
Not even tried it though have you as it's not even on the market. Sadly Thailand is a long way behind with non animal meats, nothing is worse than scoffing down dead animlas though, so any progress is welcome.

100 baht in bkk but salon and trendy places charge up to 400, most expensive is the one at the Emporium 1.000 baht. I was told locally they agree on price rises and anyone not complying is pressed to go along with it

Tried to use one, it's in the draw, too frustrating.

I thought that at one time but after doing a shop at soi 20 found different, some items like cheese and Japanese curries are far cheaper, Villa has been around since 1974, you must have seen one

flying on Qatar on 23/March/2022 and negative PCR test within 48 hours IS a requirement
23 minutes ago, 86Tiger said:If you read Qatar website it will state Qatar has no requirements, only verify arriving nation requirements before boarding. I didn't trust website and spent 45 minutes on hold for a service rep to verify.
And for the guy transiting thru Doha, there is no requirements there as well. Doha is the most normal airport I have traveled thru, absolutely packed to pre covid levels and every shop/restaurant open as normal. Huge contrast to walking thru Suvarnabhumi
If you are going to the UK they do not want to see anything certainly not a PCR test result. I have confirmed it via twitter, phone and messages from them on the Qatar app

You will have to point them out, in a 40 year career there must be dozens of them!

Actually I work as a translator, I am Thai.
So where exactly is he racist towards farang?
You seem very angry about something.
I'll give you one chance to redeem yerself or it's off to ignore with you.
I don't think he is a racist, but have always thought him a poser faking an image of a protester, looking more like a market worker than a multi millionaire yellow shirt who called the PM his brother. Pleng phua cheewit started as real protest music with the like of Caravan, taking over from them Carabao only used the image rather than the content and I really can't think of any songs really exposing injustice or inequality. The likes of made in Thailand and the (Khmer) lintel appealed to Thai nationalist sentiments. I'd be more impressed if he wrote about wealth inequality, corruption, vote buying and domestic violence against women. Nice bloke, last time I saw him he gave 750k baht to retired singers at fm 95 awards, he's just not sincere. What is he a yellow shirt or an activist? he seems well and truely always sat on the fence.

While people arguing here on useless conspiracy theory about insurance not paying for quarantine, I got some answers from a facegroup group where a few people confirmed that the insurance did pay for their quarantine. People will buy useless insurance without checking what it covers or not and then come here to argue that I was tested 24 hours ago negative why it is positive now. It does not work this way in the real world. You buy an insurance that Thai government recommends for Thai pass and they will pay if government mandates expensive hospital quarantine. There is no conspiracy involves and insurance companies will be on guard to protect their financial interest. The risk of being tested positive remains the same if there is a pre flight RT-PCR test or not. All RT-PCR test are a roadblock but at least one less is better than one more and in the right direction. Kudos for removing the pre-flight RT-PCR test. Keep it up Thailand don't listen to what desperate people who can't find their brides in their home land and have to take refuge in a foreign land to live off of their "wife visa" and voice their frustration in this forum.
I'm sure a few here would like to know of an insurance which pays out for Hospitel quarantine

So free quarentine then
23 minutes ago, zyphodb said:And then they'll lock you up until you do pay...
On what grounds, you would be willing to be admitted to hospital as you have insurance for that, or if you live here to self isolate at home, you will just be refusing to pay their extortionate demands. First thing would be to demand re test from another place

It's possible. Some 7-eleven's are company owned and some are owned by a franchisee. But most franchise agreements have strict conditions to follow for consistency of brand.
when I was in Ubon I noticed 7/11's enforced the no drink within 300 metres of a school, had a job to find any 7 stocked with booze. Luckily our local one back home sells anytime and rings it up at 5, they even deliver for free

The point is that improvements for foreigners have been made, not because Thailand wants to change things but because of pressure.....
This pressure has many forms as explained enough times already.... RB is one facet of this pressure and with increasing publicity he brings so increases the pressure.
So, while he cannot be highlighted as single handedly impacting change he carries a degree of publicity and therefor influence which can help impact change..... for example, publicising the Article 37 petition, publicising police behaviour in Thonglor 8 years ago, publicising and pushing back against dual pricing....
Some people are clearly out of touch and unaware of the work carried to counter these issues - their ignorance of such is not a very cleaver argument to suggest no work has been carried out.
So we can expect the end of double pricing now due to Barrow moaning about it, what has Barrow's pressure ever changed?

Live in the same province as Barrow, last year sent him a question on Twitter, then when no reply via email, no reply there either. As far as most expats are concerned I would say he is an irrelevance and that this forum is far, far more helpful and valuable than the self important Mr Barrow.

Don't know why you rubbish Chinese electronics so readily, this is not twenty years ago, you can buy good quality kit that lasts easily these days. That said, if you're going to be cheap, one hundred Baht will most likely get you rubbish; 5-600B on the other hand will buy a well-designed, durable, bluetooth enabled, USB-rechargeable mouse. Look on AliExpress or Lazada in that price range .
From experience cheap Chinese electronics are rubbish

What I did was to take the Antigen test , wait for the result and then book the flight after getting a negative test
But you need to apply for the TP with a flight number a few days before and still have to take a PCR test 72 hours beofre leaving

All that stress and they have lifted all tests and PLF from Fri 18th March.
Apparently I dont have to take any test to board or when I land in UK.
Happy days. The world is waking up at last
Now waiting for this end to scrap their nonsense, don't fancy getting a positive test on the way back and having to miss the flight

They used to have 70+ ages door on ground level just after checking in without having to go upstairs to security etc, is that still operational ? Monks and disabled used it also.
