Trump was no longer listening to his White House counsel, the elite team of attorneys who take an oath to serve the office of the president. But by all accounts, he hadn’t been listening to them for some time. The extraordinary moment — fully detailed for the first time in the latest federal indictment against Trump unsealed last week — vividly illustrates the extent to which the former president’s final weeks in office were consumed by a struggle over the law, with two determined groups of attorneys fighting it out as the future of American democracy hung in the balance. https://apnews.com/article/trump-indictment-jan6-riot-cipollone-philbin-b72ee539405f1f70fe34277f969a741c -

So, Trump's call for violence didn't go unheeded. More to come, no doubt. -
This year's sea ice minimum is 20% lower than the average over the last 40 years, equivalent to a sea ice loss nearly 10 times the area of New Zealand, said Tim Naish, director of the Antarctic Research Centre at New Zealand's Victoria University of Wellington, who was not a participant in the study. "In some cases we are getting close to tipping points, which once crossed will lead to irreversible changes with unstoppable consequences for future generations," Naish said. Global warming driven by the burning of fossil fuels has made Antarctica more vulnerable to extreme events and the impact is "virtually certain" to get worse, the study said. https://www.reuters.com/world/no-quick-fix-reverse-antarctic-sea-ice-loss-warming-intensifies-scientists-2023-08-08/

Your truth is not everyone's truth. Your OP is manifestly wrong as well, Thailand hates racism and misogyny as much as every other country, what the right wing refer to as political correctness.

Political violence in polarized U.S. at its worst since 1970s In contrast to the 1970s, much of today's political violence is aimed at people instead of property — and most of the recent deadly outbursts tracked by Reuters have come from the right. https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-politics-violence/

How do those numbers pertain to the changes we have seen in the past 200 years, or less? Nor do you address the direct physical relationship between carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and atmospheric and ocean warming. Your arguments are totally irrelevant to the causes of climate change we are seeing.

It's either misogyny or gay hate, take your pick. Maybe both. -
I'm nearly 70 and still waiting for the miserable old expat thing to wash over me. Every day, I think how nice it is to live here. Whether on my way to buy a 50 baht fresh cooked take out meal from a home restaurant 200 yards away or going to the gym same distance away or the street corner to buy cut fruit for 20 baht, or the 15 minute walk to any of 5 large shopping centers. I've basically resolved to give up arguing with the same dozen members who aren't interested in engaging in rational evidence based debate.

Pelosi calls Trump indictments ‘exquisite,’ ‘beautiful’
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I laugh every time I see the right wing say "deep state", so yes. Pelosi has every reason to be delighted at Trump's predicament. He totally brought it upon himself. Now the right wing are all butt hurt about their man. Donald Trump has lashed out at Nancy Pelosi and claimed her teeth were “falling out of her mouth” during a press conference ahead of historic impeachment votes this week. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-impeachment-vote-pelosi-teeth-ukraine-biden-inquiry-a9248201.html -
Opinion 78 years later, Hiroshima still stands as warning to the world
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Prior to the atomic attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, elements existed within the Japanese government that were trying to find a way to end the war. In June and July 1945, Japan attempted to enlist the help of the Soviet Union to serve as an intermediary in negotiations. No direct communication occurred with the United States about peace talks, but American leaders knew of these maneuvers because the United States for a long time had been intercepting and decoding many internal Japanese diplomatic communications. https://www.osti.gov/opennet/manhattan-project-history/Events/1945/surrender.htm On 22 June, the Emperor summoned the Big Six to a meeting. Unusually, he spoke first: "I desire that concrete plans to end the war, unhampered by existing policy, be speedily studied and that efforts made to implement them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrender_of_Japan
