  1. It's really beyond the ability of individuals to do much, especially if they are poor which is most people. A few wealthy people who own their own home and can afford to install solar systems and buy EV's won't even make a dent. We need to concentrate on the big ticket items like power stations, removing subsidies for fossil fuels and deforestation. That involves global cooperation which are words that I know are anathema to the right wing but we simply live on one small planet and it only takes a small brain to figure out that we need to pull together. So, if you mean we as a population then we are in fierce agreement. If you mean we as individuals then you are just not seeing the elephant in the room. Curiously, many folks like to blame the single country doing the most to combat climate change because it has a huge population and is still a developing nation which means total emissions are still climbing as they are in all developing nations. Even China has set deadlines and targets for emission reduction which is more than some developed nations. The thing is that highly developed nations caused this problem and are highly developed because they got in early and did the most damage, often causing the damage in the developing nations which they controlled. Developed nations need to use their wealth to help developing nations move away from fossil fuels. Nationalism just won't cut it to solve a global problem.
  2. She has a funny laugh so she must be a terrible president? Pathetic.
  3. I'd say all of them. The cardinal directions figure prominently in Thai place names. As for pointing to them, when I arrive in a strange city I have no idea until morning or evening.
  4. Prolly should have stayed away from Bugis Street ????
  5. Yes, Darwin has something like a 7 metre tide down to 0 depending on the moon phase. You can walk out about a click when the tide is out but you need to run to beat it coming in.
  6. He's already doing what it takes. His opponent is at much greater risk despite being 4 years younger. Trump must have pre-diabetes at the very least already. Biden most likely not. For the first time, an intervention - lifting weights - has been able to slow and even halt degeneration, over a long period, in brain areas particularly vulnerable to Alzheimer's disease. Researchers have found that six months of strength training (lifting weights) can help protect brain areas especially vulnerable to Alzheimer’s disease up to one year later. https://www.sydney.edu.au/news-opinion/news/2020/02/11/strength-training-can-help-protect-the-brain-from-degeneration.html
  7. There's never an excuse for capital punishment. It's barbaric. Oddly, the most religious seem to favour it the most. Atheists less so.
  8. Biden would run against DeSantis as well. The fear of MAGA is palpable. The dems only fear a moderate and centrist Republican
  9. Ya'll scared because Biden wants to "finish the job" by beating down MAGA extremism. To the far right that's extremist.
  10. Joe Biden's fitness routine helps him stay active and tone muscle at 78. Here's how he does it (and what you can learn) https://www.fitandwell.com/news/-joe-biden-workouts-0305 How about the fat guy he's running against?
  11. My Thai GF doesn't even know that God created the world in 7 days.
  12. It did. The internet kept people informed about Trump's criminality and traitorous relationship with Putin so they voted the career senator in by a landslide. They chose competence by a wide margin. Thanks to the internet a record turnout was seen to vote.
  13. Terrifying. Attorney General of the largest state in the US for 6 years and senator for 4 years vs reality tv star.
  14. He didn't beat Biden last time, why will it be different this time given the extra baggage Trump is carrying now? And I'm not just talking about his obesity.
  15. I am not disputing that many dems are extremist. The claim was that political parties are extremist, not individuals. I was asking for examples of extremist Democratic policies like guns, abortion, removing social security and obamacare, ten commandments in schools, tax cuts for the rich, support for Putin, that sort of thing.
  16. Biden has never been known as an extremist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Joe_Biden
  17. No, I don't read it because it's behind a paywall. Same with Washington Post to save you asking.
  18. You're American and you know nothing about one of the premier news outlets? You're just on a messenger shooting expedition here and utterly failed to rise to the challenge to back up your claim.
  19. Apparently you didn't see any examples of Dem party extremism with your own eyes because you still won't detail any. 20. You specifically said both parties have become extreme. How? Examples please. Must be related to a political party to be relevant to your claim. Something like this might be good Republicans: Downplaying the dangers of extremism only harms our troops The April 13 arrest of Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman, for espionage due to his leaking top secret documents, is yet another stark reminder of the danger far-right extremists pose to national security. But Republicans don’t seem to agree. In a reckless move this past summer, Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), shut down proposals to root out extremists even as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies were reporting that white supremacist and antigovernment movements are our number one domestic terrorism threat. https://thehill.com/opinion/national-security/3966624-republicans-downplaying-the-dangers-of-extremism-only-harms-our-troops/
  21. Tucker Carlson might be boxed into entering 2024 presidential race by Fox contract He'd instantly have an online fundraising juggernaut second only to Trump, and perhaps surpassing him. He's polarizing, terrible, and utterly amoral ... in short, better than Ron DeSantis for the base. Celebrity, money, mental acuity, cynicism, pro-Putin isolationism, and an overt love of authoritarianism are a pretty strong secret sauce for the MAGA base. Celebrity got Trump the [White House]. https://www.rawstory.com/tucker-carlson-2024/
  22. Have both parties incited insurrection and extremism? Has Biden entertained nazis at the white house? Blackmailed any countries? Coddled up to white supremacist groups? Please cite examples of this both sides are extremists mantra.
  23. First day of Trump's trial today. I wonder (not) if Biden's announcement is a coincidence?
  24. Biden's team obviously have a good idea what's in store for Trump legally and feel quite confident. Biden's message is fighting Republican extremism. Clearly the Republicans themselves seem to be incapable of getting that done themselves so it should be a a shoe in from here unless things change very soon.
