  1. Something of an aberration though Finally, President Roosevelt was elected four times to the Presidency. He kept his initial VP, John Garner, for the full first two terms, despite open legislative warfare between the two from '37 on, following FDR's court-packing debacle. It was only for the third and fourth terms that the VP shifted, once because Garner became untenable in the position, and once when the succession became paramount to the Democratic Party leaders.
  2. Carlson, who promoted conspiracy theories and lies, racist, sexist, anti-LGBTQ, white nationalist, and Christian nationalist views, and falsehoods about the January 6 insurrection, was the networks’s top star. Brian Stelter, the former CNN media reporter, tweeted that Carlson has “retained the famously aggressive entertainment lawyer Bryan Freedman.” (He also notes now-former CNN anchor Don Lemon has also retained the same lawyer.) https://www.rawstory.com/suddenly-silent-tucker-carlson-lawyers-up-report/
  3. Of course copper will always be used in industry. I just think it's a poor investment for the near to mid term future, like until a coming recession bottoms out. I might well be wrong, it's just my reading of the economy and markets.
  4. Biden has just announced he will run. He advisors have obviously told him there's little danger of him losing.
  5. Has a sitting president ever changed his VP for a second term run?
  6. I was referring mainly to the haters on this board. Stop projecting, it's trolling.
  7. It's not about the science for many here. It's about wanting to denigrate the few unlucky people who got dealt and bad hand and don't fit neatly into the binary concept of male and female. Science supports that and everything else is homophobia.
  8. It was more likely to do with no processed food. My mother is 94 and has been an alcoholic all her life but she never eats anything out of a packet.
  9. Whereas in fact it's determined by genes.
  10. The only thing recent is a new buzzword invented by the far right to generate new outrage and make it seem like something's changing to the detriment of the "silent majority".
  11. tldr; Fired for exposing his employers as nothing other than hypocritical liars in it just for the money.
  12. You missed the point which is that you don't need to fall off the turnip truck when somebody else calls them something other than your favourite slur.
  13. Your comment doesn't have any relevance to my post at all. I never even suggested what you claim. Cut the trolling.
  14. Here's why they fired him. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/04/tucker-carlson-has-left-fox-news.html
  15. They're not that naive. This is about his text comments disparaging Fox management. They got sick of his 2 faced lying after he cost them the big bucks.
  16. In 1979, Carlson's father married divorcée Patricia Caroline Swanson, an heiress to Swanson Enterprises so, effectively he's rich anyway.
  17. I disagree. I change my diet slightly from time to time when I read research which convinces me to do so. For example, I used to drink about a liter of milk a day for about 50 years now I drink none. I can cite many examples fo how my diet has changed over the past few years.
  18. Probably only those in cars driving to Walmart and back.
  19. Editors are there to prevent the lies before they are told, not to put out the fire afterwards. They can't do that.
  20. I very strongly doubt that Carlson sues Fox News.
  21. It might well alarm scientists but there's a large contingent on this board who will just write it off as alarmist..
  22. Yes, I recall reading that now you mention it. My point should be something like all foreigners who die outside the auspices of a hospital are sent for autopsy. In any case, this case would be an automatic autopsy.
  23. Carlson’s messages lambasted the news division and management, revealed how he felt about Donald Trump and demonstrated his skepticism of the election lies — so much so that Fox attorneys and company founder Rupert Murdoch held him up as part of their defense of the company. The judge who oversaw the case ruled that it was “ CRYSTAL clear ” none of the election claims related to Dominion was true. https://apnews.com/article/tucker-carlson-fox-news-dominion-lawsuit-trump-5d6aed4bc7eb1f7a01702ebea86f37a1?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=TopNews&utm_campaign=position_03
