  1. A bit like brokering a peace deal between Australia and New Zealand. Excluding the Bledisloe Cup.
  2. This looks like the real reason that the US initially declined to send the Abrams tanks. U.S. to send Ukraine more advanced Abrams tanks — but no secret armor https://www.politico.com/news/2023/01/26/us-sends-ukraine-advanced-abrams-tanks-00079648
  3. I hope you throw away the bun. Then there is the batter.
  4. You can't concede that it was a plea for peaceful as opposed to violent protests? The protests themselves were inevitable, regardless of what Biden said. Can you concede that much?
  5. Torture the English language as much as you want, it doesn't make sense that Biden would be calling for protests. Nor is this a protest about race so I don't get the antifa references. It's about police brutality.
  6. It seems clear that he's saying that protests should be peaceful, not that there should be protests. There's a wilful inability to comprehend meaning but the Biden haters. It's as if they never studied comprehension as part of English lessons in school. In fact it beggars the imagination that any president should call for protests at all. Oh, wait...
  7. It was very low hanging fruit. UAE and Saudi Arabia have long had close cultural ties and both hate Iran as does Israel. I support letting Trump back on Facebook because he's now his own worst enemy since he's a known quantity now. He's got nothing new to say and lost most of his support outside the fringe right wing. If he wins the nomination it will be a classic case of doing the same thing and expecting different results.
  8. Folks around these parts like to defend their sacred cows to the death. Get it, "to the death". LOL.
  9. We're mostly on the wrong side of the bell curve ????
  10. You have a presumption that life is not enjoyable without red meat. Diet is just a matter of training. Some people don't like seafood. I ate everything until about 2 or 3 years ago. I'm constantly adding and removing stuff from my diet ans I learn more, a process that has been ongoing for several years. I'd prefer to die in a healthy state, not suffering for months or years from a chronic disease or spending years disabled by heart attack or stroke.
  11. None that support your claim. Your just being inciteful without evidence.
  12. She should have sent him a gift voucher for big mac's. He's about one big mac away from a heart attack.
  13. It does not, however, disprove the hypothesis. I made no comment, just posted the research for information. Life isn't a test drive and I don't want to discount any credible research in the hope that it proves wrong. If the NiH and Mayo Clinic are claiming it's a risk at even moderate levels of consumption, I'm paying attention. There's also plenty of evidence that red meat may be bad for prostate enlargement. Some studies found an increased risk of BPH in men who ate more red meat. But other studies found a decreased risk of BPH in men with a high total protein intake, especially protein intake of leaner forms of protein such as fish. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/benign-prostatic-hyperplasia/expert-answers/enlarged-prostate-and-diet/faq-20322773
  14. I wonder if the price cuts last month weren't designed to pump up their stock price ahead of the Q4 earnings report which came out yesterday? There's a big difference between revenue and profit. If this was legitimate we should see a new model announcement very soon.
  15. I think this is the most plausible explanation. It was quite common many years ago but these days I never see it.
  16. Pork is included as red meat and is widely eaten in Thailand.
  17. TSLA is up 59% since the low. May be a lot of FOMO involved.
  18. Red meat and the risk of bowel cancer Red meat – such as beef, lamb and pork – is a good source of protein, vitamins and minerals, and can form part of a balanced diet. But eating a lot of red and processed meat increases your risk of bowel (colorectal) cancer. That's why it's recommended that people who eat more than 90g (cooked weight) of red and processed meat a day cut down to 70g or less. This could help reduce your risk of bowel cancer. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/food-guidelines-and-food-labels/red-meat-and-the-risk-of-bowel-cancer/ New System Ranks Evidence for Health Risks of Eating Red Meat, Smoking, and More—But Critics Say It’s Overly Simplistic Importantly, the new ratings do not show that eating red meat isn’t associated with certain health problems or that eating vegetables does not help protect against them. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/new-system-ranks-evidence-for-health-risks-of-eating-red-meat-smoking-and-more-but-critics-say-its-overly-simplistic/ One daily serving of unprocessed red meat — about the size of a deck of cards — was associated with a 13% increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease or cancer. One daily serving of processed red meat — one hot dog or two slices of bacon — was associated with a 20% increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease or cancer. https://www.scripps.org/news_items/4258-is-red-meat-bad-for-you
