The public school district in Seattle has filed a novel lawsuit against the tech giants behind TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat, seeking to hold them accountable for the mental health crisis among youth. Seattle Public Schools filed the lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court. The 91-page complaint says the social media companies have created a public nuisance by targeting their products to children. It blames them for worsening mental health and behavioral disorders including anxiety, depression, disordered eating and cyberbullying; making it more difficult to educate students; and forcing schools to take steps such as hiring additional mental health professionals, developing lesson plans about the effects of social media, and providing additional training to teachers. https://apnews.com/article/social-media-seattle-lawsuits-mental-health-965a8f373e3bfed8157571912cc3b542?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=TopNews&utm_campaign=position_06

Elon Musk has secured a world record for the largest loss of personal fortune in history, Guinness World Records said Friday. In a blog post, the global organization, which keeps track of a huge variety of records, cited Forbes’s estimate that Musk had lost around $182 billion since November 2021 but noted that other sources indicate the figure is closer to $200 billion. While the true figure is unclear, Musk’s losses appear to easily surpass those of the previous record-holder, Japanese tech investor Masayoshi Son, who lost $58.6 billion in 2000. https://thehill.com/policy/finance/3803661-elon-musk-secures-world-record-for-largest-ever-loss-of-personal-fortune/ -

Presumably, they don't need to prove that he died from any particular cause, that ha already been established. The task is now to prove that Trump incited the riot. -

Haters will hate. The Capitol police ruled that Sicknick died in the line of duty. The USCP accepts the findings from the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes. This does not change the fact Officer Sicknick died in the line of duty, courageously defending Congress and the Capitol. https://www.uscp.gov/media-center/press-releases/medical-examiner-finds-uscp-officer-brian-sicknick-died-natural-causes -

The special counsel can't be stopped by anybody. That's why he was appointed and why they exist. That's already happened long ago. It didn't appear to affect Biden's election. Or the mid terms. The contents of that laptop have been public for some time. I think it would be mistake for Biden to run again but nothing to do with the contents of that laptop. That won't hurt him.
