  1. Stephen Schwarzman — chairman, CEO and co-founder of private-equity giant Blackstone — says in a statement to Axios that he's defecting from former President Trump for the 2024 presidential race. https://www.axios.com/2022/11/16/trump-stephen-schwarzman-2024-presidential-race
  2. It clearly states that Russia was the obstacle, particularly Putin. In his early years, Putin saw Russia’s “integration with the West and its institutions” as a policy priority of the time, according to Simons. But he did not want to stand “in line with a lot of countries that don’t matter” to enter NATO. Putin’s rise to power was also largely related to the support of Siloviki, an anti-Western alliance of Russian security establishment.
  3. No thanks, I'd still be asking for an approved source.
  4. ABC’s Jonathan Karl called the speech “incredibly low energy” and said he saw people leaving in the middle of it ― until they were blocked from departing: ABC’s Olivia Rubin filmed a crowd forming near the doors, waiting for a chance to leave as Trump rambled in the background: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-speech-exit-blocked_n_637464b8e4b0e818be473a14
  5. Rubbish, Putin was invited to join NATO. Russia demurred. https://www.trtworld.com/magazine/russia-could-have-joined-nato-but-why-didn-t-they-do-it-55561
  6. Got some evidence? Photos of hookers or something? He's likely to face tax fraud charges. Exactly how Biden's involved we don't know except for conspiracy theories. Even if he was guilty, if Hunter B is guilty of tax fraud charges and that makes him, in your words, "a scumbag of the worst type", would you agree that anyone charged (not necessarily convicted as Hunter hasn't been yet) with tax fraud is also "a scumbag of the worst type"? Anyone? Or just Hunter?
  7. The comment is the latest instance of Trump breaking with the U.S. intelligence community but was all the more explosive when said standing next to Putin, after a nearly two-hour one-on-one meeting and extended bilateral summit in Helsinki, Finland. “My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said. “I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.” https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/16/trump-putin-meeting-election-meddling-722424
  8. I didn't realise that nationalism came in different flavours. Care to explain the differences?
  9. Weisselberg: Trump 'authorized' tax fraud scheme at heart of his business' criminal trial On Tuesday, Rolling Stone reported that Allen Weisselberg, the longtime top accountant for the Trump Organization, testified at trial that former President Donald Trump was aware of — and personally approved — the fraudulent accounting for which his family business is now under criminal indictment. https://www.rawstory.com/weisselberg-testimony/
  10. Here's another Trump failure. Trump's "Benghazi!!!" aka "Mission Accomplished!" U.S. troop deaths revive anger over Trump’s Syria withdrawal plan A suicide bombing in Syria killed four Americans and wounded three more on Wednesday, raising questions about the terror group’s resilience and reviving the pitched debate around Donald Trump’s plan to withdraw American forces from the country. The Islamic State, also known as ISIS, claimed credit for the attack in the northern city of Manbij, which went unmentioned in a speech hours later by Vice President Mike Pence, who declared that “[t]he caliphate has crumbled and ISIS has been defeated.” https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/16/us-troops-killed-manbij-syria-1104355
  11. China has warned Russia against any use of nuclear weapons. I don't think Russia's threat to use nuclear weapons is quite the deterrent than it was, overall. NATO have been making murmurings about needing to end the soon soon. And they don't mean a cease fire.
  12. Sure they are, they wanted a no fly zone to protect civilians for months. They may get it soon.
  13. While attempting to shoot down a russian missile committing a war crime by attacking civilian infrastructure and civilians themselves.
  14. They did ask him. Repeatedly. He didn't. That's the point.
  15. Donald Trump 'Holding Us All at Gunpoint' Speaking from the ball room of his Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump claimed "our country is being destroyed before your very eyes," and branded President Biden the "face of left-wing failure and government corruption." However, Trump's announcement went down badly on influential r/Conservative Reddit group, which has one million members, with most of the top-rated comments criticizing the former president. One commentator, using account name neutralpoliticsbot, received 1,000 upvotes for posting: "He is going to be the Hillary Clinton of republican party in 2024 isn't he? https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-holding-us-all-gunpoint-conservatives-angry-2024-run-1760022
  16. Pretty soon we'll have a real moon landing. Maybe.
  17. I can't find my original source but here's some proof that he did, albeit from an unreliable source. Trump contradicts Biden and says Russia probably sent the missile into Poland https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11433149/Trump-contradicts-Biden-missile-hit-Poland-saying-probably-Russia.html Trump said that "even today a missile was sent to Poland probably by Russia" and people are going “wild and crazy” over it. He went on to say that Biden is “leading us to the brink of nuclear war”. https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/us-news/trump-condemns-missile-strike-on-poland-says-biden-leading-us-to-brink-of-nuclear-war-articleshow.html
  18. From the not so left wing press. No. He often acted as if he were a commentator on his own presidency, and issued orders on Twitter and in other off-the-cuff statements that were ignored. He repeatedly had to be talked out of disastrous ideas by his advisers and Republican elected officials. Trump had a limited understanding of our constitutional system, and at the end of the day, little respect for it. https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/11/no/
  19. hmm, ok. I'll accept that Thanks. I did say (twice) "anyone of consequence" and the articles refer to a washington examiner (cough) "defense reporter" (lol)'s own (presumably) opinion and an unnamed US official from an anonymous source. So, so far we still don't know of anybody other than Trump who can be pinned with the false accusation. You're probably also aware that the WE is not an approved source here and this article is a case in point why that's the case.
