  1. Not only that, 70% percent is no longer some magical number. Everyone needs to be vaccinated to conquer this virus because of breakouts. Also anyone taking the Chinese vaccines longer than 4 months ago is very susceptible to getting COVID-19.
  2. I was kind of joking because Sakon Nakon is usually a forgotten province. Thank you for the information. Thats really very cool of you!
  3. Their hotels are like there data security. Both need updating to the 21st century.
  4. Wheres Sakon Nakhon? I think its still part of Thailand.
  5. Totally dead the last time I was next door at the JW marriott. The trouble is Mai Khao beach can be notoriously dangerous to swim at. These hotels were built before the Tsunami changed the area and the underlying seabed. Nice hotels but I preferred to stay at other beaches that are safer. Another thing is theres not much to do around there. Without a car your stuck at the resort. I imagine the asking price will be astronomical.
  6. It's been Known for over a year that the Chinese would be concentrating on domestic tourism. There also avoiding countries with low vaccine rates. Just because you bought a few million underperforming vaccines doesn't grant you Chinese tourists. I can't stand Chinese tourists. Loud, abrasive, and rude.
  7. Has she asked politely? I'm sure the owner of the land next door doesn't want broken waist water pipes on his property. It's benefits both of you to have everything working properly. Its even more important to get along with your neighbor. A descent Thai guy would probably agree.
  8. For sure with thousands of tourists coming in. There going to want to booze it up. .... They'll be plenty of Thais willing to risk a 20,000 baht fine to make a killing with pop up parties.
  9. I hope he's wrong. Im enjoying the weaker baht, uncrowded beaches, and cheap hotels. Hotel rates are climbing fast.
  10. "No hazardous chemical residue found from blaze at foam factory in Pathum Thani" I wonder where it went. very convenient though.
  11. In the building foreground? ......Or the contaminated river?
  12. It was destined for Thailand. "MFA BLOCKS POLAND’S MODERNA DONATION TO THAI HOSPITAL" https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/2021/10/25/mfa-blocks-polands-moderna-donation-to-thai-hospital/
  13. 3 million doses from Poland. One can only imagine how many that could have helped. Disgusting government.
  14. Whatever gets dumped in Pattaya Bay is spread around the area with the current. Even Koh Larn, despite clear waters will have an unsafe bacterial count. Right now I'd go for a dip. It's great without the hordes of people not taking a duece in the water so to speak. I love Pattaya and Jomptien. I just wouldn't recommend it for a beach destination. .....Again I've swam in it I'm still alive and well. But I have had my hepatitis vaccinations. (strongly recommended).
  15. Still no movement to procure mass amounts of mRNA vaccines. Always waiting until its to late. Anyone vaccinated with Sinovac more than 4 months ago should be aware their probably as likely to get infected as an unvaccinated person. Meanwhile the inept government does what it does best. Nothing.
  16. Bring someone who speaks Thai. Otherwise you'll be getting a lot of blank stares.
  17. Agree And it's difficult and extremely expensive to just reopen a hotel or restaurant thats been closed for 12 months or more.
  18. Looking at some of the hotel prices in December it seems as though some hotel operators are expecting hordes of tourists again. They'll be disappointed. The hotels who offer reasonable rates will get the bulk of any tourism. Leaving the usual Thai owned hotels screaming for government help because no one stayed at there overpriced dumps.
  19. So right. Ash literally falling from the sky. Going reason to wear a mask even if there wasn't a pandemic.
  20. "PCD rolls out air pollution curbing measures". Nothing is going to change. Just drove by miles of sugar cane that will be burning in a month or two. Getting the air purifiers ready for another historical smoggy and very unhealthy air quality year in 2022.
  21. Shes very popular with teen girls. I guess they can get there parents to drive them to the concert.
  22. Dirty gloves. It's been going on for ages. I remember when Thammanats aides were caught exporting masks to China when you couldn't get masks or paid a kings ransom for them on Facebook. Wonderful government.
  23. Jomtien has never been much cleaner than Pattaya. It's definitely much better without all the people. There's not enough treatment plants and the two main ones are usually breaking down or working at limited capacity. The water quality was dangerous 20 years ago. But the beaches at the moment look really inviting. But your better swimming in the hotel pool than risking dysentery or some wierd skin rash.
  24. People have to quarantine when they back get also in certain countries. 1 day in quarantine beginning November first is nothing. The bigger reason is Thailand is having a terrible controlling the pandemic and there vaccination rates are horrible. You might be able to fly here but if another wave comes, and it will, getting back home is another matter.
  25. Nice to have if you travel. Takes a week to process so unless you busy its nice to get it done just in case. You never know.
