So why vaccinated people are forced to go in quarantine now?
It's because Thai people are not vaccinated
and before enough number of Thai people will be vaccinated to avoid the risk of another outbreak, it could take dozens of months
Look at how small countries, with more money, a better organisation
and less population like Israel (10 milions vs 70 millions for Thailand)
have managed to vaccinate only 60% of their population in 1 year
and they have now problems to convince the 40% remaining to do it
So far there is 0 country in the world having reached the famous
herd immunity rate, nobody knows is the herd immunity is even
possible (With the new strains and the situation in Seychelles for example)
....And Chile. You can't depend on herd immunity. There isn't such a thing I believe with Covid-19.

Sinovac isn't even listed as an emergency vaccine by WHO. People vaccinated by that swill won't count in the eyes of more developed countries.

Unless everyone is vaccinated no country in its right mind isnt going to let their citizens visit Thailand and risk getting some variant and bring it back. Who's going to trust these Thai politicians saying its "safe"?

The 24 year old Thai women that died 2 days after a Sinovac jab, a few weeks back I read. There was to be an autopsy, was she sick prior to vaccination ? Have not read anything on that tragedy since, strange.....
They said it was the diet pills she was taking.

Yeahh Anutin!
You clown ordering more useless vaccine to hopefully garner Chinese contracts for your family business. Throwing Thailand under the bus.
Sinovac hasn't even been given emergency status by the WHO. CP owns 15 % of it also.
Awful!

Thailand needs to offer incentive not punishment. It's the wrong way to go about things.

Yes, and it's the scariest thing I've ever heard.
I think Thai people wouldn't have that snake in office.

Would be surprised if they had the vaccine available for 5% of their population.
They don't. Its roughly 2 percentage, mostly useless Chinese <deleted>.

It seems very obvious to all of us that this Government really has no idea what its doing or any clear timeline for doing it The PM (Prayuth)& Deputy PM (Anutin) should both resign and leave politics forever . IMO .
Its just money. Its too good to walk away from.

As the Indian strain takes over Astrzeneca will be useless. And those Chinese vaccines are garbage.

So many different rules its baffles the mind.
Does this include guests to your hotel room when they open up, if so that's going to make it even more boring than Phuket already is at the moment.

It wasn't developed by the same nation that started the whole mess, it was developed by a private company.

it was leaked yesterday, that astrazeneca ha production problem and they can do max 3mln in June. The figures will also probably be lower for the next months, below planned 10mln.
yes, there are some spare 3mln sinovac, but that's for the whole country

Idiot.
Thailand also taxes baby food, diapers, medicine. Anything that's vital for life.
Anutin is one of the worst of the bad!

Tough times for sure. Big problem for Thai hotel owners charging prices as though it was normal times. The Kanta Resort mentioned is a 3 star resort. It's ok but not compared to the Ocean front resorts like the Hua Hin Marriott or newly remodeled Hilton that actually have cheaper rates. Its always been that way with Thai owned properties, no wonder there struggling. Charging more for less is a bad business model under any circumstances.

Better the both of them self quarantine at home. Save a hospital bed and save them money.

So late to the party. Its better than Sinovac but wait for Maoderna or Pfeizer.

7 hours ago, Chelseafan said:Gotta say, I had the AZ vaccine and suffered incredible fatigue for a day. I don't think its Sinovac per se, just a side-effect of the dual dose vaccines.
What the article lacks is the amount of vaccines given.
Sinovac hasn't released enough data and hasn't even been approved for emergency use by WHO. Its cheap, that's originally why Anutin was told to get it.
