  1. She is a minor if she is working as a brass in a bar. The German was having illegal sex with her, whether you see it as that or not.
  2. He was told to go, not his choice. And how do you think that RTP officers, whose jurisdiction ends at the Thai borders, could do anything about it, even if they did track down the person you referenced (who did not murder anyone but does face a serious traffic offence)?
  3. "Bit ott cops going to Germany and he could have his life ruined when she is technically not underage". She sure was underage, serial whoring in a bar! Why shouldn't he have his life ruined? "Bar owners should get equal treatment if that’s the case". They did, they were arrested and detained, also.
  4. Plenty to see here. She was employed as a prostitute in a bar, that is underage and bribing the police to escape Thailand's justice is illegal also.
  5. Extradition can be requested for any offence but, in the absence of a ratified treaty between the two countries and 17 not being underage in pervy Germany, it would be difficult as the article explained
  6. "Immigration Bureau police who informed her she could be facing potential deportation..." She could be in different circumstances and under different IO's discretion but, obviously. she is not facing deportation, if she was she would be in custody with her visa cancelled and that has not been reported as happening so it's safe to presume that it isn't happening!
  7. "This legal action goes beyond the ordinary, as it raises questions about the potential impact on the influx of social media influencers and tourists who frequently visit Thailand and document their experiences on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube." ...and cannot be charged with, or sued for, defamation against the country.
  8. I know what the possible maximum consequences are but obviously she is not facing that. If she was facing deportation she would be in custody with her visa cancelled and that has not happened so she is, obviously, not facing deportation this time.
  9. No surprises that you didn't understand the humor of my post No surprises that you tried to claim there was some humour in your humour-free post.
  10. ok ... I've got about 4 accounts I want frozen .... wow ! just by calling 1441 ..... amazing Thailand .. Wow, amazing Steven100. Only if they've scammed you out of money, not on demand just because you want to have a go at someone.
  11. Why? Based on the report, he would be no more responsible for the accident than you are.
  12. Thats good info.... Something I had no idea was possible. Calling 1441 can get an account frozen in 15 minutes, apparently, according to reports in the Bangkok Post. For the doubters, google "2000 scam-hit bank accounts frozen".
  13. There have been recent changes and victims of scammers and fraudsters can report the fraud to the Anti Online Scam Operation Centre (1441)/bank to which they were directed to send their money and the bank will freeze the account immediately with the hope of preventing its withdrawal/onward transmission. A couple of thousand have been frozen in the past few weeks already.
  14. You can try but you wont get anywhere. There needs to be a law, an enforced law, that says companies can not share or sell your data. What has that got to do with the OP?
  15. The Tourist Police officers are just as "real" as any other division of the RTP!
  16. I just suppose: as WU keep copy of the passport, police can check it and find if he has a bank account and maybe lock it till get money back. If his bank was not part of the fraud, there's no reason for the account to be frozen. Bank accounts aren't subject to freezing just because the account holder allegedly committed an offence.
  17. I just suppose: as WU keep copy of the passport, police can check it and find if he has a bank account and maybe lock it till get money back. They'd have to have evidence that your defrauded money went into any account before it could be frozen and, as it was given out as cash, they won't have that evidence.
  18. excuse me ..... who the heck do you think you are commenting on other replies. He's a member of a forum that you posted on and he is entitled to respond to any posts...including yours. Who the heck do you think you are?
  19. Lock which bank account? You didn't send your money to a bank account you sent it to WU.
  20. No, they have not done that but it is explained in the full article. What genius didn't read it?
  21. According to a number of replies, this type of account is accepted, including at Chiang Mai where Ill extend, so to answer your 2nd question "both" so win win........ Notice the "if" in my post.
  22. 1.5% interest as opposed to 0.9% with my current passbook account, one reason. Not a very rational reason if it bars you from getting an extension. Which do you need more, an extension or 0.6% extra interest?
