That is not garbage, debt collectors who pay for debts are just the same as loan sharks, and i can assure you they do threaten people with guns. Unofficial debt collectors, maybe, but not recognised agencies that the financial institutions factor their debtors to. I can assure you that those official agencies do not threaten debtors with guns. There are heavy fines and prison sentences for debt collecting agencies that violate the many regulations.

There's a big difference between the over-dramatic "seizing whatever assets they can", as you claim, and only being able to seize funds that the debtor has deposited with that financial institution.
