  1. What has COD got to do with this incident?
  2. Shouldn't matter much just driving the Tuk Tuk it's just a motorcar if there no Passengers are on board. "...it's just a motorcar if there no Passengers are on board". Not if it is registered as a public service vehicle, it isn't; the purpose of the vehicle doesn't change if it is carrying no passengers, the driver is a passenger in the vehicle.
  3. Massively higher standard of living than their family who were not sold as slaves by their fellow Africans.
  4. So you are not sure ? I asked you because you seem very knowledgable about this. IF you are stating your comment are factual and not just an assumption, I'll take your word for it... you are not known for BS'ing on this forum. I am 100% sure that to drive a taxi/tuk tuk in Thailand, legally, a public service vehicle licence is required. That is a fact. I am not sure about the answer to the other hypothetical questions that you asked regarding holidays and private use that I did not comment on.
  5. The hypocritical, selective indignation about police actions here never fails to amaze...if the police are seen to not enforce the law to AN posters satisfaction they are vilified, if they do enforce the law they are vilified just as much! RTP can never win with so many blowhard Asean Now members.
  6. How about telling us which tourist was fined, or pursued for prosecution, in this case? It sure seems that you have something mixed up.
  7. Wouldn't one think that the Taxi driver had a License from his home country ? Wouldn't one think that his home country licence would not be a Thai public service vehicle licence?!
  8. Rule 36. Multiple accounts by the same person are not normally allowed and may be closed at our discretion.
  9. Best that you check all your questions with the Motor Vehicle Act...I'm sure that you can get the answers to your own questions yourself.
  10. As per my point above - even when using the vehicle for private only use ? As per my point above, drivers of registered taxis need public service licences.
  11. It is not the banks that are corrupt, all they are doing is opening accounts (if necessary) and facilitating transactions in those accounts. The banks' involvement stops there when the agents and IOs step in.
  12. The only ban is on mule accounts used for facilitating scams, not legitimate new bank accounts opened with the assistance of an agent.
  13. It didn't happen! No fault, no payment for fixes, no tractor, no Toyota.
  14. True.... But what exactly has the TukTuk owner done wrong ? Is this any different from you letting your mate drive your car ? Yes, it is different...to drive a taxi a public service vehicle licence is required. The tuk tuk owner permitted an unlicenced driver to drive his taxi.
  15. Did he have a public vehicle driving licence that taxi drivers need in Thailand?
  16. At least the tuk-tuk driver had a licence.
  17. "What a load of steamy ****!" Indeed, and you said it.
  18. As long as you have a licence that would be no issue.
  19. In this case they're regulating everyone but fining a Thai, not a tourist.
  20. "Section 56. Subject to the provisions of section 43 and section 57, no owner of vehicle or driver shall allow any person who has no driving license, or having a driving license of other category of vehicle which is not interchangeable, to drive his or her vehicle or the vehicle which he or she is the driver".
  21. The tourist has suffered no penalty, no ticket, no fine, no deportation, so why are you going on about deporting all tourists as though the one in this incident has been treated unfairly?
  22. Of course he does, everyone driving a vehicle on the road needs a valid licence. How could you even pose that question rationally?
