If they ARE serious, it should be vaccine only no tests free insurance, then they WILL come anf before anyoe bleats about what if they end up in hospital remember they are already slapping a 500 baht fee on all tickets anyway, why not just make it 1000 which would easily cover any hospitalisation

The topic is reopening for tourism.....
As said, vaccinations are going on at a fair click, but due to the late start interim measures are here to get tourism at least 'warmed up'.... hopefully for better times.
and including the requirements of a test before and on arrival, which tourists may well noit want, I know many who do not want anythign rammed up their nose

Burma border is a bit of a distraction from the topic
not really as once any strain gets in its IN no way they can control it especially thru illegal workers, already vaccinated people are a much lower risk of spreading https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02689-y

If they realy wanted tourists back offer FREE insurance and FREE tests

I hope not.... but Sky just reported it as more infectious.
If Thailand was serious everyone would have been vaccinated, if Thailand was serious there would be no border incursions from myanmar etc bet you anything you can still easily sneak across the border , if not payment guarnatees it.......Burma workers many still unregistered, kid works for me says they can get in and out ok by paying even now

It doesn't even make sense, it is the responsibility of the government to protect it people. All of them. And factor in a new strain getting into the country.... rumours of a D+ now.

Well we know vaccinated people can get infected so perhaps not a good idea... less critical if coming from a country with low infection numbers perhaps.
Thats the unvaccinated peoples problem, its ridiculous

Yes, if double vaccinated, a negative test just before the flight and a test on arrival (with isolation until a negative result). Okay the latter is perhaps a form of quarantine.....
how about not tests at all just vaccinated

Handing over humanitarian aid at a border post would undoubtedly go through the hands of the Myanmar military. Just how exactly would it get into the hands of the people that need it most, which are the ones being murdered, bombed, shot, their villages burned, and oppressed by the same military?
Thats after its gone thru the thai sticky fingers (PLURAL) first, dont trust any of them

I wonder what the chances are of them taking the UK of the list....due to the problems they are having there with growing covid cases and a new more contagious variant?
The "new" type isnt going to be an issue according to 2 reports Ive read both from the BBC https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-57564560
Even with 166 examples of Delta plus shared on GISAID, a global open sharing database, "we don't have much reason to believe this is any more dangerous than the original Delta," according to Dr Jeremy Kamil, a virologist at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

When I pointed this out, somebody here argued it's because UK and USA have done a large number of tests but other countries didn't. lol
Most of the countries from the list are from the richer countries with higher number of tourists to Thailand.
Theyre testing all kids twice a week at schools for your information as I know someone whose doing th e testing

A ‘friend’ my Wife (who’s well connected to information sources) has sent her the above info... and informs that there will be 47 eligible countries.
Thus: Vaccinated arrivals must have / do...
1) Pre-flight PCR test
2) Arrival PCR test
3) 1 Night Quarantine in a hotel (at least until PCR test result is issued)
This latest release of information still leaves questions:
- At which stage is the Arrival PCR test taken (at the Airport or Hotel) ??
- Must the Quarantine hotel be an SHA+ hotel / ASQ hotel ?
Biggest question of all - is the Certificate of entry still a requirement...
even bigger question whats the betting that pcr test in Thailand gets delayed being deliverd to you so the hotel can screw extra nights out of its "guests"
