  1. It might have something to do with the sheer fact that Sinovac is a widely known as an inefficient vaccine at best?
  2. True, true. During the COVID-19 the rich got even richer while the poorest became even poorer. This pattern is not just in Thailand, it's happening everywhere.
  3. Call me cynical but with the Omicron variant being considered as "weaker" than the Delta one, what are the odds the authorities along with "the one that shall not be named on these forums" would actually be quite happy to see a fraction of their/his own population to either get infected, develop symptoms, develop natural immunity over time or yet even worse; Get infected, take out other bargirls, hookers, prostitutes, pimps and patrons along with them and die quietly away? Wouldn't it serve THEIR agenda afterall? Which is clear as crystal water; get rid of Pattaya's seedy image one way or another. I know it sounds awful to even imagine but last time I checked those in charge and those in power have very little esteem for other Thais who are far far far below (dare I say, at the very bottom?) than they are on the Thai social ladder. Let's not forget that the rise of the Thai baht along with their economic growth from the late 70's up to the 2000's was built on the back of their prostitutes (literally and metaphorically) but with the current puritan administration in charge and the current rhetoric against foreigners coupled with the highly hypocritical "crackdown" against prostitution in the Kingdom, everything indicates the ones in charge are trying their very best to dismiss that image. TL;DR: "If you can't change your own people's behavior... might as well get rid of those people" one sickening mastermind could be inclined to think. Just my two cents.
  4. Not to nitpick and pick on you on a personal level but I find both that statement and your overall attitude worrisome. Not to concede to panic or anything but this whole "Oh it's just a bad cold" mantra is not exactly what we need either. People need to take COVID-19 rather seriously and not dismiss it like "oh it's like a bad cold". Reminder: COVID-19 kills, bad colds doesn't. Stop comparing apples and oranges.
  5. This, totally and it won't be pretty this time around. - Portugal: 87% overall vaccination rate, +28,659 which is a lot for a small country. Previous peak wave we had in January 2021, +11,500. - France: 78% overall vaccination rate, +206,243 shows how inefficient current mRNA vaccines are. Previous peak wave was in November 2020, +60,000. - Belgium: 77.1% overall vaccination rate, +13,876. Restrictions are kicking-in, work remotely from home is being enforced, etc. - UK: 76.9% overall vaccination rate, +221,250. Need I say more? Germany and Spain are not doing much better either.
  6. Same with Portugal, France, Belgium, UK. Any of these countries I have assets/family/real estate in, they all are in the RED. +200,000 Omicron a day for some of those. And Portugal has one of the highest vaccination rates in the World, up to a +93% vaccination rate for those aged 21-30 years. Shows how inefficient the Pfizer/AZ/etc, bull!@#$ vaccines are.
  7. "Don't Put All your Eggs in One Basket" comes to mind. This is what happens when you fail to develop other activities/sectors in your Kingdom and you chose the rely on one only: Prostituti*cough* Tourism *cough*. And the worst part of it all? They have learnt absolutely NOTHING from this lesson. Thai logic style.
  8. Would you happen to have a reliable credible source? Hint before you consider replying: Neither the BBC nor Sky news are within that scope.
  9. "Refund" is a word that doesn't seem to exist in the Thai language anyhow. ????
  10. And we're very happy to host you and hope you enjoy your stay with us! ???????? Obrigàdo! ????????????????????????
  11. It's not just the flight availability that is the main hurdle. Thai authorities have stated they require you to have a 50,000 THB insurance even if you transit through Suvarnhabumi airport. Now the question is, how can the Thai authorities enforce enforce this requirement if the Airport's transit zone is considered as an international zone and not in Thailand? https://www.mfa.go.th/en/content/thailand-pass-faqs 16. If I am travelling to Thailand in order to transit to other country / territory (not passing through immigration control), do I need to register with Thailand Pass? - No. However, you must have a proof of insurance with minimum coverage of at least 50,000 USD and a COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR), issued within 72 hours before your travel. How would/could the Thai authorities possibly enforce this? In case you are flying from Dubai to Cambodia with a layover stop in Bangkok? Sure the RT-PCR test is a standard "requirement" these days to board pretty much any planes around the globe, and besides Cambodia expects you to provide a RT-PCR test on arrival as well, so that is a moot point. However the insurance appears not to be a requirement to travel to Cambodia anymore starting effectively today. If you're not passing Thai immigration, not leaving the airport's international zone and not (attempting to) enter(ing) Thailand. Edit: Sorry we/I hijacked the thread.
  12. Also here is the original source (Prime Minister's Facebook post) rather than Reuters. So you have the source of the source (should you understand Khmer). https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?ref=watch_permalink&v=285218293501463 សារសំឡេងពិសេស សម្តេចតេជោ ហ៊ុន សែន ពាក់ព័ន្ធនឹងការចូលមកព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា ទាំងជនជាតិខ្មែរ ទាំងជនជាតិបរទេស ដែលបានចាក់វ៉ាក់សាំងរួចហើយ គឺមិនតម្រូវឱ្យធ្វើចត្តាឡីស័កទៀតទេ ប៉ុន្តែអ្នកទាំងអស់ដែលបានធ្វើដំណើរតាមផ្លូវអាកាស ចុះមករាជធានីភ្នំពេញ ទាំងនៅខេត្តព្រះសីហនុ និងខេត្តសៀមរាប ត្រូវយកសំណាក ដោយម៉ាស៊ីន PCR ។ សម្រាប់អ្នកមិនទាន់បានចាក់វ៉ាក់សាំង គឺនៅតែតម្រូវធ្វើចត្តាឡីស័ក រយៈពេល១៤ថ្ងៃដដែល។ ថ្ងៃទី ១៤ ខែវិច្ឆិកា ឆ្នាំ ២០២១ Translates to: Samdech Techo Hun Sen's Special Voice Message regarding the entry into the Kingdom of Cambodia, both Cambodians and foreigners who have already been vaccinated, is no longer required to do Chattalysak, but all those who have traveled by air Phnom Penh, both in Sihanoukville and Siem Reap, was sampled with a PCR machine. For those who have not been vaccinated, 14 doses are still required. November 14, 2021 Chattalysak = Quarantine. doses = days, translation problems.
  13. That's not the point of this thread. Again not the point of this thread. As a regular user (not admin) of the forums I cannot initiate a new thread in the NEWS section of the forums; however I felt this was not only news-worthy but also would serve as a good comparison between what Thailand does (in regards to quarantine) and what other neighboring countries are doing. As I said in my post; Khun Prayut Chan-o-Cha could learn a thing or two. As for the answers to your questions, as usually I advise you and invite you to do your own research. Edit: Another key point I should have stressed in my original post is 1) This is from Reuters as a source (so reliable), 2) This announcement is from Cambodia's Prime Minister *himself* and 3) This has IMMEDIATE effect starting today at 00:00, not Thai style delayed to the 1st October, then pushed back to 1st November, then 1st December, then 15th January, etc.
