  1. As in sports: That's why they play the game
  2. Judge confronts novel issues in whether to move Meadows’s Georgia charges to federal court 09/04/23 6:00 AM ET A judge is set to rule soon on the first Georgia 2020 election co-defendant’s attempt to move their charges to federal court, a decision that could prove decisive for the future of Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis’s (D) criminal case. Former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows wants U.S. District Judge Steve Jones to allow him to switch courts to attempt to get his charges thrown out on immunity grounds. It would also widen the jury pool to less Democrat-heavy areas and likely prevent a televised trial allowed by state law. “A judge doesn’t ask for additional briefing unless the judge is thinking that that briefing will be helpful to resolving the motion that is in front of them. So it seems obvious that the judge is at least considering finding that some of the acts fall within the scope of removal,” said Alex Reinert, a professor at the Cardozo School of Law. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4183275-meadows-georgia-judge-confronts-novel-issues-federal-court/
  3. From the article linked above: It is important to note that not all sunscreen products contain benzene and that uncontaminated products are available, should continue to be used, and are important for protecting against potentially harmful solar radiation.
  4. SKIN CANCER Incidence rates Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. Current estimates are that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. It is estimated that approximately 9,500 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with skin cancer every day. ETC. https://www.aad.org/media/stats-skin-cancer
  5. Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett had been fighting skin cancer for four years prior to his death, his official website has revealed. Buffett had Merkel Cell skin cancer. He died Friday at the age of 76 at his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island, surrounded by family, friends, and his dogs. His official cause of death has not been revealed. Merkel Cell skin cancer, according to the Mayo Clinic, is a rare but aggressive type of skin cancer "that usually appears as a flesh-colored or bluish-red nodule" on the face, neck or head. https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/jimmy-buffett-had-been-fighting-skin-cancer-for-4-years-before-his-death/ ******************************* So those who enjoy life in the sun and I-wanna-live-near-the-beach should take care and be observant of any changes in skin. 6. But if I have eyes in the back of my head, doesn't wearing a helmet cover them up?
  7. When I see motorbikers here running or jumping a red light I say to myself: The one you don't see is the one who kills you.
  8. There has been one settled case since Jan. 6 that invoked the 14th Amendment. In September, a judge in New Mexico ordered a county commissioner convicted of participating in the Jan. 6 riot removed from office under the 14th Amendment. He was the first public official in more than a century to be barred from serving under a constitutional ban on insurrectionists holding office. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/30/us/politics/trump-14th-amendment.html
  9. Maybe another 3bb hiccup. back on TRUE
  10. Yes -- definitely down Ubon. I am on TRUE now.
  11. That's OK . So I'll take a breather for a while and the 5 -10 members of the tag team will have to find someone else for target practice.
  12. I will back off on fidelities for now. But sometimes it is hard to deal with such obviously mis-informed statements as this page 2 this topic: 22 hours ago, Bkk Brian said: He'll take the 5th as he's done before when faced with facts. He likely won't have to take the 5th. The Prosecution cannot call him as a witness. ********** And to amplify, if the defense were to voluntarily call Trump as a witness, then Trump would not be able to claim 5th amendment upon cross-examination.
  13. Absolutely. I am tired of being questioned on my fidelities by you and others when you already know this. And many of these tag-team comments are getting real personal .
  14. Well good for you. I voted against Trump twice. Who did you vote for?
  15. I voted for Clinton in 2016 when the possibility of Trump being elected was considered a joke. 'Don't want to see that happen again.
  16. But this IS the law in Georgia: 637 F.Supp.3d 1316 United States District Court, N.D. Georgia, Atlanta Division. The State of GEORGIA, Plaintiff, v. Eric A. HEINZE and Kristopher L. Hutchens, Defendants. Footnote 8: “It is well settled that if one claim cognizable under Section 1442 is present, the entire action is removed, regardless of the relationship between the Section 1442 claim and the non-removable claims.” https://www.justsecurity.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Georgia-v-Heinze.pdf
  17. What has that got to do with Hillary Clinton's defeat? Trump underestimation syndrome
  18. Raffensperger was a Prosecution witness under oath in a Federal Court.
  19. Well that settles that, clearly.
  20. I read the docket. That is their position for removal . It is up to the judge to decide on the motion.
  21. This is a just a motion for venue. not the trial .
  22. That may be true. But at some of those charged were government employees at the time of the charges so the question becomes were they performing an official function or was this gross political activity. And, at least according to the Meadows legal argument, it only takes one such acting in official capacity to move that individual's trial to Federal court. This is just a motion for venue. It is not the criminal trial.
  23. Per reading Meadows Motion, no matter how many charges there are, it only takes one decision that Meadows was performing in his official capacity to qualify for removal. And Raffsenperger is quoted as saying: Secretary Raffensperger confirmed Mr. Meadows’s limited role in the call (consistent with audio recording introduced into evidence), noting that Mr. Meadows “was acting on behalf of the President,” Tr. 219:14; making clear that he (Raffsenperger) did not believe Mr. Meadows’s participation or statements on the call were “inappropriate,” Tr. 220:16; and acknowledging that Mr. Meadows did not make any requests to change vote totals, So we'll see.
  24. Yes -- my favorite example of too soon getting your hopes up .
