  1. This is the paragraph in the complaint which contains the only 4 references to 'pardon' or 'pardons': 132. He also asked Ms. Dunphy if she knew anyone in need of a pardon, telling her that he was selling pardons for $2 million, which he and President Trump would split. He told Ms. Dunphy that she could refer individuals seeking pardons to him, so long as they did not go through “the normal channels” of the Office of the Pardon Attorney, because correspondence going to that office would be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. https://eddsa.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/public/650033_2023_Noelle_Dunphy_v_Rudolph_W_Giuliani_et_al_COMPLAINT_10.pdf
  2. And as I have commented before, the main impetus for my looking for alternatives to my 5 years with Gigna Global was that I was moving to a new province with no CG direct payment hospitals. And the procedures with both emergency and elective IP procedures with no direct payment was just not acceptable for me.
  3. Right and you are already on record regarding any money that might be spent on WrLife "I reckon your gut feeling is right on that, i feel the same, money better spent elsewhere." https://aseannow.com/topic/1281012-wrlifeany-more-info-or-updates-regarding-trust-and-claims/?do=findComment&comment=17795234
  4. So now the expats are just going for cheap-as-chips policy -- last time for you it was: "TBH those signed up already haven't done due diligence, it appears they were intoxicated by the lower premiums" https://aseannow.com/topic/1268153-wrlife-medical-insurance-experiences/?do=findComment&comment=17530780
  5. Just to note, as of 6 PM EST (yesterday) neither the New York Times nor the Washington Post has put the against Giuliani lawsuit on their website front page. Case filing: https://eddsa.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/public/650033_2023_Noelle_Dunphy_v_Rudolph_W_Giuliani_et_al_COMPLAINT_10.pdf
  6. The NY Times -- in March before Biden officially declared -- described J.B. Pritzker as ... The billionaire heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune may be seen by some Democrats as the “in case of emergency break glass” candidate, one of the few prominent politicians who could stand up a White House run at a moment’s notice. (paywall)
  7. Fulton DA urges judge to reject Trump’s attempt to gut inquiry (2 hours ago) Fulton County’s top prosecutor was dismissive Monday of efforts by former President Donald Trump and a GOP ally to derail her office’s more than 2-year-old criminal investigation of attempts to meddle in Georgia’s 2020 elections. District Attorney Fani Willis said recent court motions from Trump and Cathy Latham, who served as an “alternate” GOP elector, were “procedurally flawed and advance arguments that lack merit.” https://www.ajc.com/politics/fulton-da-urges-judge-to-reject-trumps-attempt-to-gut-inquiry/4KMNHJS2TBHSRPHRPCNPXGI5JM/
  8. I'll bite. My 'dark horse': J.B. Pritzker, 2-term Governor of Illinois.
  9. I am not looking for perspective. The bombing was just noted as its 10 year anniversary a few weeks ago.

  11. And to the above, once I got the affirmation from the US embassy, the www.alanguagelover.com folks did all the rest including courier to the MFA and I had all the docs ready to submit to the amphur. (almost 2 years ago)
  12. Maybe like the old Bill Murray SNL skit Quien es mas macho? Trump-haters or Biden-haters?
  13. I was on the phone that morning with an old friend in OKC when he said: Something just happened. There's been an explosion. I gotta go.
  14. That is also an awful long time that Trump only has to put up an award bond but that's how the game is played. "Trump’s lawyers also said they will ask the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to toss out the order for him to pay $5 million in compensatory and punitive damages." https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/11/trump-to-appeal-verdict-in-e-jean-carroll-sex-abuse-case.html
  15. Court records showed on Thursday that Trump notified the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that he was appealing the verdict, as his lawyer Joseph Tacopina previously said he would. Legal experts have said the appeals process could potentially take years. https://www.reuters.com/legal/trump-files-notice-appeal-lawsuit-brought-by-e-jean-carroll-2023-05-11/

    Thai beef

    OK. Maybe I'll try that.

    Thai beef

Yes I got it from Makro. Still it is a lot of cooking for just one meal -- I like to cook things and then have it for 3 or 4 days.
  18. Maybe so. But for a 70+ year-old guy there are things I can get/buy in Thailand that certainly are not available in the USofA regardless of who is the next President.

    Thai beef

I have given up on Thai beef steak and even some of the readily available import steak. But I have found some frozen Thai ground beef -- or minced as the Brits say -- can make some reasonable cooked dishes like tomato-style sloppy joe or meatballs for spaghetti. I have tried making taco-style beef using ground pork or ground chicken but just not the same.
  20. The Bangrak District Office outside of Bangkok has been rated over the years as the friendliest office for foreigners (farang friendly) to register their marriages at. https://www.thailandmarriage-regisration.com/amphur-offices-in-thailand.html but there is a lot of leg work you would have to do before going to the amphur including an 'affirmation to marry' from your embassy and then having it translated into Thai. I would talk to these people: https://www.alanguagelover.com/
  21. The first Democrat elected after the Civil War in 1885, our 22nd and 24th President Grover Cleveland was the only President to leave the White House and return for a second term four years later (1885-1889 and 1893-1897). https://www.whitehouse.gov/about-the-white-house/presidents/grover-cleveland/ He won the popular vote in three presidential elections—1884, 1888, and 1892—though Benjamin Harrison won the electoral college vote and thus the presidency in 1888. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Cleveland
