Does your voting history reflect that view or is it a new, convenient metric that you can use to justify voting Trump? Was Trump ever in a position to have to make the difficult decision to take military action? What did he do to probably the largest military deterrent to potential US aggressors - NATO? What did he achieve with Putin other than calling him a genius? Do you honestly think that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was only planned after Trump left office? What did he achieve with Xi Jinping other than calling him an exceptionally brilliant individual and slapping additional sanctions? What did he achieve with Jon Il other than calling him a great leader? Do you think that Trump, as he proclaims himself, is a great negotiator and that is why he an avoid conflict? If so, and if he is the brilliant negotiator and decision maker than he constantly tells us, how come his business empire is full of failure? How come he has to constantly fire staff? How in the world did he come to the decision to hire someone like Alina Habba to represent him last month? Trump tries to project himself as a strong, intelligent leader. I honestly wonder how long Putin, Jinping and Il were able to hold their laughter after Trump left the room. As for Biden, he seems to be doing rather well with the US economy and employment and has at least tried to enact bipartisan policy knowing full well it would be shot down by GOP, whether it was good for the US or not. His biggest mistake, in my humble opinion, is not having used the last 4 years to mentor a winning replacement. Harris is not that replacement. Whether Biden is in cognitive decline or not, perception is reality and the perception of Biden is rather negative despite his achievements. All of that is immaterial to me though. The US electorate is cram packed with bible bashing illiterates who will only vote for a fellow bible basher, even though it is crystal clear to anyone with even half a brain that they (the candidates) are almost always playing make believe.

Passport 6-month rule returning home ?
Woof999 replied to talisman01's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you made it to the UK they would allow you in even with an expired passport or no passport at all. As others have said, if you are a UK passport holder and the expiry date is even just a week, you should have no problem UNLESS your flight is not direct or your full itinerary is not on the same booking. The latter might involve you needing to collect luggage in a third country, which would also require you to go through their immigration. Even then I'd expect that showing an onward ticket to the UK in a short space of time would be OK. -
How to support 4 monitors using integrated Intel graphics CPU?
Woof999 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
I've never had a problem with fans failing, but they also aren't expensive to replace. Do you clean the inside of the PC regularly? Also make sure that the fan settings are correct, so that they are running at a speed based on the current load, not always set at X. If I'm hammering graphics then yes I can hear the fans, but that's with good reason. Here's almost 10ft of loveliness, although taken shortly after a load of Arduino components were delivered, so desk is messy as hell. -
How to support 4 monitors using integrated Intel graphics CPU?
Woof999 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
It does, of course, depend on what you are doing with the PC. For me, GPU strain and CPU strain tend to be relatively in sync, so a single chip handling both will be under a whole load of thermal stress and quite possibly more likely to fail. The only real issues I've had with GPUs were around 20 years ago when the ATI GPU drivers were dog<deleted>. Since then I've stuck to NVidia, although I would consider AMD again now. I've had a 2080Ti since they were first launched (and 3 NVidia Titan X before that). Typically I would have upgraded by now (I tend to upgrade at least every 3 years), but it's still going strong running 2 x 34inch ultra wide screens and a 49 inch ridiculously ultra wide for a combined diagonal size of more than 9 feet. No way in the world would I touch integrated graphics for that. -
How to support 4 monitors using integrated Intel graphics CPU?
Woof999 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in IT and Computers
Then you will always be compromising which CPU, motherboard and monitors you can buy. I've pretty much always bought separate GPUs for my main PCs, especially when even dual monitor support was essential. For 4 monitors, in my humble opinion, a separate GPU is a no brainer. Each to their own I guess. -
METV effectively rescinded at Don Mueang
Woof999 replied to Orient Express's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You've really got to admire the logic. You have the TAT spending many millions trying to attract tourists to Thailand. Then you have the RTP making it really difficult for a tourist who paid for a valid VISA and has been travelling within the terms of its issue.- 63 replies

The OP and the site it links to only mention Brit, so he could be Scottish, English or Welsh. I'll agree that he's unlikely to be Scottish though as the illegal sex did involve another human 😉 EDIT: Or of course Welsh for that matter.

You're welcome. There are plenty of other brands, but ATOTO is the only one I have personal experience with. Here are a couple of others that I'm giving consideration to for my Fortuner, so long as I lose none of the (very few) features of the OEM head unit. Good luck. https://www.belsee.com/belsee-tesla-style-vertical-touch-screen-car-radio-replacement-android-auto-head-unit-stereo-upgrade-for-toyota-fortuner-2016-2023.html

I highly recommend the ATOTO brand of Android units, if there is one for your car. You don't even need Android Auto then, although it is still an option. The problem with Android Auto for me is that the wireless pairing is flaky, depending on the phone and head unit (2022 Fortuner with a Samsung Galaxy S21 does NOT work, for example). Had an ATOTO unit in the Pajero before that and it was a dream. The only reason I've not installed one in the Fortuner yet is that I've not yet found a model that supports the 360 degree camera. Had never heard of ATOTO before, knew they were Chinese and was expecting low quality, low features. I was very wrong. Bought mine from Amazon US although I also believe they sell direct from their website. I used a USB dongle and a True sim to give the ATOTO head unit fully internet access totally independent from my phone, but you could use the phone as a hotspot and do away with the need. Android Auto is kind of OK, but having to use the phone, for me at least, is an inferior option than having all the features built into the head unit. You can also install pretty much ANY Android app, whereas what you can do with Android Auto is very limited (full screen video when stuck in traffic... Netflix, ODB2 connection to car diagnostics and a zillion other things).

Boeing really have shot themselves in the foot bigtime. The 737 is and has for decades been their primary earner. After the MAX 8 crashes and the uncovering of MCAS and the totally unacceptable culture of deceit, they needed to be hyper focussed on safety and not put the slightest foot wrong. Instead, we get this. It may well be down to their subcontractors but that makes no difference. It's a Boeing branded plane sold by Boeing (engines, cabin and a few extras possibly excepted). I was always a Boeing fan, Would always choose an airline with 737NGs over one with A320s. Flew the 737 sims at every opportunity I could, dismantled the odd 737 and traded in parts. That all changed with the MAX. It doesn't really matter what Boeing do now, they need a total rework from the top down. Until that happens I'll continue to choose the A320 family for short haul flights, whenever possible.

TikTok user exposes taxi overcharge in Bangkok, fare hits 105 baht (video)

Why do you think the taxi driver's costs for a < 1km journey that took just a couple of minutes are 85 baht? They would be if they used an untampered meter. -

Which laws is it that the poor person is allowed to break? Only fraud and theft? If so, up to what amount? Does that include it being against you or only others? Just so we know where to draw the line between bottom feeder and victim.- 77 replies

Lazada (yes, again) - returns page on PC not working - just me??
Woof999 replied to Crossy's topic in General Topics
The day they remove the web version without a significant improvement on the mobile app is the day I stop using them. Have bought literally hundreds of items on Lazada over the last 9 years. Every time I try the mobile app it's almost pointless. One reason of many is that it's much harder to translate significant amounts of text. Copy/paste on the PC is much easier, and for images, Google Lens pointed at my desktop monitor saves the day. -

Thai Airways flight diverted to Sydney, captain clarifies decision
Woof999 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Should pretty much never criticise a Captain's decision to divert, go-around, delay or any other such action. Getthereitis or pressure to not incur additional costs has been a major factor in countless accidents. The idiot with the "flying experience" is a complete tool.- 52 replies
