  1. There are strict rules put in place to stop those practices and the E.U rules are put in place to stop Governments giving contracts to preferred bidders . Having a cunning plan to get around those rules could lead to legal action taken against the Government for descrimatory practices
  2. Yes, I have explained about three times already . No point in explaining again
  3. Yes , I didnt make myself clear enough again , what I meant was that the Government couldn't have Chosen John Smiths passport printers from Plymouth to print the passports or any other UK based printer specifically , the UK Gov had to advertise the contract and then pick whomever gave the cheapest/best offer and the Gov would then have to state their reasons as to why they gave the contract to whomever they did . Also as the bids were submitted anonymously , the Gov couldn't have chosen the British company , because they wouldn't have know which of the companies was British . I cannot explain any more than that
  4. Although the question asked was whether there should ever be a referendum again in the future and the majority of people thought there should be , a portion of those people thought there should be another referendum in 20 years time.
  5. There are many people in the UK who think that all UK's current woes are caused by Brexit , like the inflation rate and food cost rises , so its understandable that on that basis, they think that Brexit wasn't a good idea
  6. Do you realise that 'in its view, the most economically advantageous tender". means the cheapest ?
  7. Your added poll is from 16 months ago, September 2021
  8. You added that after I read and replied to your post , so no, I didn't read it
  9. That link says one in five thinks that its wrong (20%) , your previous DW link claims that 30 % think that it was the right choice . What happened to the other 50 % ?
  10. Although it does say that , it doesn't state how they got their results , it just says "one in five blah blah blah" without giving any indication of how they came about that figure
  11. I am saying that if you make a claim, you need to back it up with proof and a link , as you regularly tell others to do
  12. Its irrelevant what I think, you need to comply with forum rules. Or is it just me that needs to do that ?
  13. Yes, that is the reason why I have previously written Cheapest/Best and cheapest contributes to it being the best . My point always has been that the UK Government couldn't use a UK passport printer to print the passports , they had to choose the best/cheapest option under E.U rules and the best/cheapest off came from a company that prints the passports in Poland because its the cheapest/best option. Had the UK not had to follow E.U rules, they could have chosen a UK based printer to make the passports
  14. Can you provide a link to that alleged information , as per forum rules ?
  15. All the information is here . https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/guides/public-procurement-law-the-basics
  16. My answer is still the same as when you asked that question ten minutes previously and if you ask that question again, my answer will still be the same again .
  17. I didn't make it up , no
  18. No idea, have you tried doing a google search asking the question ?
  19. Nope, keep going forward and stop thinking about how things could have been different if you acted differently . The UK left the E.U, now lets go forward and get on with it and walk together towards those sunny uplands
  20. Yes, the UK Gov had to accept the cheapest price offered and the cheapest price offered , offered that cheapest price because they got the passports printed in Poland . So the Gov didn't CHOOSE to get the PP's printed in Poland , the Gov followed E.U law and choose the cheapest price offered and that Company went to Poland and got the PP printed there
  21. Yes, but the lowest offer is very often the best offer , unless the higher offer offers something extra .
  22. Remainers have been saying Brexit is a failure since day 1 and they've been saying it ever since and they will continue to keep saying it over and over and over again . The "day came" on the very day we left the E.U
  23. The poll results where some people are claiming that 2/3rds want to leave the E.U , but the actual question asked was whether there should be another referendum or not and the results to that question were : So just 22 % want another referendum now , rather than two thirds waning to leave Should there be another referendum ? "The most popular options were now, at 22 per cent, and within the next 5 years, 24 per cent, followed by within 6-10 years, 11 per cent. Just 4 per cent thought another vote should be in more than 20 years, while those who said there should never be a second referendum have fallen from 32 to 24 per cent."
  24. If you take a closer look, the question asked was whether there should be another referendum in the future or not and two thirds thought that there should be . The question asked wasn't about whether the UK should leave/join the E.U , it just asked whether they should be another referendum in the future or not . If you feel that there should be another referendum in 100 years time, then you would have voted "Yes, there should be another referendum in the future . Remainers are up to their tricks again
  25. Yes, that is why I said lowest/best offer , the lowest offer is usually the best offer, but there may be other factors involved where the lowest offer isnt always the best offer . I initially said "lowest offer", then I thought some one would be argumentative and say that the lowest offer isn't always the best offer , so I then changed that to myself saying "lowest/best offer to stop people making an argument .
