  1. If you read the posts in the replies on the twitter feed , in the link that I replied to, you will see that posters on twitter were indeed blaming Brexit and that is whom I was replying to
  2. Fair enough , peoples opinion has now changed and they realise that Brexit and Ukraine are the main reasons for UK's problems and I failed to keep up with that manoeuvre . Now that the wholesale gas price has gone back to pre Ukraine war prices , hopefully the UK can get inflation back under control
  3. People might casually say they want to re-join the E.U , but when they take into consideration all the chaos and confusion and the delays it took four years to leave and it may take four years of a similar situation to re join , they may decide its not worth all the hassle about re-joining
  4. That is too close to call though , 51 % ? They would have to have yet another referendum to make sure and try and get a clear majority
  5. You will get a new permission to stay/visa when you enter Thailand from Cambodia
  6. Its like a game of tennis : "Brexit caused all the current problems in the UK" "No, it was Covid and Ukraine that contributed to the current woes" Back and forth
  7. I went to see a Doctor and he said the me "Mac, I got some bad news for you, you don't have long to live " "Oh no" , I said to the doctor " How long do I have left to live ?" He said "Ten" I said "What years? He looked at his watch and said "Nine..............Eight"
  8. Could you clarify your experience ? Have you worked for a Government office that needed to comply with the E.U.s new 2018 rules , rules about offering contracts fairly and openly and choosing the most cost effective bidder ? If not, then you personal experience is irrelevant , because you were not required to follow the current rules
  9. Ray, that would have been illegal . Had the UK Gov choose a UK based printing company on the basis they were located in the UK , that would have broken E.U laws . You personally may have gotton around laws by acting unscrupulously for your own personal gain , but a Government official isn't going to go against the law when his job and reputation is on the line and he doesn't get any personal benefit . The Gov named its requirements and all the applicants would have been able to fill those requirements . The applicants who filled the requirements gave their price and the Gov had to choose the applicant who gave the best price . The Gov needed to comply with E.U rules and couldn't be deceitful and avoid those rules , like small business can
  10. What makes you say that I have withdrawn from the World and have become insular ? There's only a slight bit of difference between post and pre Brexit UK , the main difference is that isn't many European young backpackers who "lets go to London and get a job and work there for a few years" kind of people , gap year students who want to work abroad somewhere for a while , some places in London were like Koh Phan Peckham
  11. How come the doctor was open that late at night ? Doctors don't often work at 11 40 PM , was it a hospital you were at
  12. Wait , the question asked was whether there should be another referendum or not , the question WASNT "should the UK re-join the E.U or not". People who respect the democratic vote may feel that the public should be asked again in the future , remainers are using that question and changing it around to make it appear they want to leave the EU Saying that there should be a referendum isn't giving an indication of how you would vote
  13. I was there last summer actually , had a lovely long walk from Richmond to Ham along the river , across the river and then back to Richmond via Twickenham and went past the bridge to Eel Pie Island , didn't actually go into EPI as it looked quite private . I didnt often go to Mainland Europe pre Brexit , so I haven't become more insular post Brexit , I am more of a India, Turkey , Gambia kind of guy, rather than a Benidorm and Aya Napia kind of guy , thanks for the suggestion though
  14. If you just want to use certain figures, how about this figure : The most popular options were now, at 22 per cent, and within the next 5 years, 24 per cent, Just 22% of people want another referendum now and 46 %want another referendum in five years time . Same figures but sounds different to the article title
  15. The application process is deliberately set up so that the Gov doesn't know who the applicant is or where they come from .
  16. I admit it Ray . I changed a word from Cheapest to best and used both words I 100 % admit to that . Now, please move on and stop going on about it Thanks
  17. I am liking post Brexit UK very much , so much so that I decided not to go back to Thailand . Its nice to have England back again , rather than just being an island off western Europe
  18. I have explained about three times already , the Gov has to accept the most cost effective offer and that is the best/cheapest offer . Please see my previous posts for further explanations
  19. Stop making false allegations . If you make the suggestion that I am missing a point, you really need to state which point it is that you think I am missing . Your claim that I am missing points, have not answered questions and am avoiding issues has no basis in fact Feel free to prove me wrong by stating what they are are what you are talking about or they will just remain as baseless claims
  20. OK, What point am I missing and what would you like me to answer and what issues am I avoiding ? I have answered all the points raised and provided links to back up my claims and shown quite clearly I am correct. So, explain what you mean and tell me the points I miss , what issues I am avoiding and what I wont answer
  21. 1 . It was the remainers who caused the delay in the UK assigning contracts for PP printing as we wasn't sure whether we needed to write "European Union " on the front of the PP's or not . 2. The Polish printing Company had adequate security measures in place . 3 . I posted a link previously showing that what was required . 4 I have previously stated the difference between best and cheapest . You haven't been following this thread, have you , because all the info in this post has previously been posted by myself
  22. It wasn't though . E.U rules stated the U.K had to put the passport printing contract out on offer and the UK Government had to choose the most cost effective offer and that is why UK passports are being printed in Poland , they can print them cheaper than the UK can . Those are the E.U's rules
  23. As already replied , the French kept it"in house" because they signed their deal in 2017 and new rules came into effect in 2018 and that's the reason why the UK couldn't keep it "in house" , because we signed our new deal in 2018 after the new rules came into effect
  24. I would prefer it if the UK Gov could choose to have UK passports made in the UK , rather than going with the cheapest/best offer and getting the PP's printed in Poland , like its not as if we get out passports any cheaper ourselves
