  1. It's patchy, to say the least. I registered with my local hospital, BHP, 4 weeks ago, I received my first vaccine 6 days ago. AZ, with my second appointment for 2nd November. So, as I say, its patchy.
  2. OP; seems to be a great deal of choice to me. I don't understand your apparent complaint.
  3. Yep. I did ask her a while ago why its always me that is sweating gobs in the kitchen producing nice meals, and baking OP, for us both, and the dogs, then I remembered that she is a sxxt cook. Still, we are not together because of her cooking, she does have other skills for which I am grateful.
  4. I'm happy enough to have the Thai produced AZ vaccine (whereas I wouldn't consider the Chinese stuff). If the Europeans, or my own ex country UK, won't accept them as valid, well <deleted> them.
  5. No they are not; they are tied by their ignorance of their own religious teachings. They need to read more of what The Buddha had to say, or is recorded as saying, before coming up with ridiculous, indefensible reasons to not do their duty.
  6. Not sure where you are, but we are lucky in Pattaya area of having no issues getting good quality ingredients. The flour can be in a bit of an issue, but TOPS in Central has a good choice.
  7. Move to another condo, see, all fixed
  8. You are just being normal mate.
  9. My goodness, I bet you are a barrel of laughs and loving as a boyfriend.
  10. Looks nice. G/F number one needs to get off the sofa, put down her phone and start baking.
  11. Those of us with animals who we love, and would hate to see suffer at the end of their life, or with serious and incurable illnesses, need to keep the contact details of local vets that will put down a sick animal, that is, vets that do their duty. I have heard say of two in Pattaya that do so and another who will provide a syringe and drug, with instructions. At this stage with my young dogs, I haven't followed this up, but I think reading this post that I will do so. If anyone has such information for the Pattaya area, perhaps you would be good enough to PM me.
  12. There are lots of Thai U Tube videos on baking and cooking western style.
  13. Well said and dead on. vets here are shirking their clear responsibilities, that is to avoid undue and avoidable pain and distress in animals. It's pathetic, as they hide behind the religious argument, which has no validity in this context.
  14. By you. If you are not a vet, or at a push a medical doctor, you have no idea how to put down a sick animal painlessly and effectively, unless you blast it with a shotgun.
  15. You need to read the post that I was responding to. Yes that does need to happen, scientifically, by a trained person, not just by someone who THINKS they know how to do it painlessly and with sensitively.
  16. Use Zoom calling, like most UK companies have been doing for the past 18 months. I'm surprised you asked the question.
  17. OP, in Pattaya we appear to all ( expats who are registered) be getting AZ at BHP, and not paying a Baht for it.
  18. We have found one clinic in Ban Chang where the owner, western trained, seems very good, but the rest of the 'vets' ( not sure if they know what a cat looks like, they probably think its a small dog) there are near to hopeless. They killed one of our cats with an overdose of pain killer. I can't prove that, but I'm almost 100% sure that is what happened. I put vets in the same category with a good many doctors/dentists here, those outside the big hospitals and operating in rural locations. They seem to be half trained and just there to suggest more tests, scans and injections, for no good scientific reason. Being a scientist myself, I have some inkling as to the issues and it always seems to come down to a lack of basic knowledge and educational grounding. Start to question them and they often start to ramble.
  19. I use my Hitachi air-cons on their 'dry' setting, hardly ever on 'cool' and they keep the rooms to a nice comfortable temperature. However, on two of the new units the vanes stopped working after just one year. Seems to be a real lottery here where ACs are concerned, both buying the right one in the first place and then getting them serviced by someone who knows that they are doing.
  20. A good rule here is that, unless you absolutely know for sure, ( close, good friends that you know well) everyone you meet here is trying to rip you off in one way or another and the law, such as it is here, provides almost zero protection. Live by that and you can't go far wrong. Leave your Canadian head back in Canada. Cynical, maybe, but it has served me well all over Asia.
