Yes, you can if you go on red and declare. No license needed if it can be assumed you bring for own consumption. For license to be needed the value must be much higher than only 6 bottles, if they are not old, found on the bottom of the ocean and only exists in a dozen. 😉 According to the rules, you should go red, declare and should be given a flat rate to pay as customs tax. However, that can differ, and as they have fairly high tax on importing wine, they might give you a little bit higher price tag.

I would say that your statistic numbers that you seem to blindly believe are wrong and the deaths are misinterpreted. Regarding the 34 children, I think they have counted the victims in the bus fire. Something that would mean, that during the time mentioned 20 children and 2 adults were killed in that accident. Something that makes it impossible to reach 80% motorcyclists in the fatalities.

Could do with some support and advice here ?
Gottfrid replied to The Cobra's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Wow! For once we actually stand on common ground. Agree 100% and the OP should really consider getting out. Sounds to me, he overthink what would happen to her if he leaves. The answer, is simply nothing that didn´t happen to her before he met her. Also, I feel a fear of leaving, and maybe what she would do to him/herself if he tried. That´s really a big sign of a non-working relationship. In my mind it can only get worse if he stay, and better if he leave.. You are right, but it way more common and visible on people from that business. Ok, so what you are recommending the OP, is that he should stay, sit in a corner and be a mouse. -

Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
Gottfrid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My god! You are talking about stupid? Who should pay 12 000 per month on a 12 000 per month salary? Are you dreaming? where did you find that information? I said a total price of in general of 4 000 baht. Are you calculating with 3 children? I understand it can be hard with 4k as well, but there are cheaper options too. And, what we are talking about here, is only the first years, as they start school early in Thailand. In that case there are free schools, where you only have to pay like 600-900 baht per month for the children to stay longer and even get extra tutoring after school. But, now I had enough conversation with you today. Have a great day, and take care. -
Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
Gottfrid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A good advice, is that you stop wasting time with compassion for nonsense. They do not have to leave their children. They choose to leave their children! Almost everywhere, there are possibilities to find daycare for children. It cost all between 3 000 - 5 000 baht per month. Shared by two parents, that is 2k baht per month. Then they can leave their children around 06-07 in the morning and get them around 16-17 in the late afternoon. That option exists both in many schools as well as in private care centers and private home centers. You also post It doesn´t matter by which family member the child got raised. Oh yes it does! Children are morally entitled to be raised by their biological father and mother, whenever possible. Children have the right to be raised by a mother and a father. Taking away that right, will go against the pure foundation and reason for having a child. Only looking at them as a possible bankbook when reaching old age. People should not make children, if they can not be there to care for them, more than sending money to somebody else who do the emotional care. -

I don´t know what you are talking about. What Thai bashing? Have I written something that is not true? I also, only mentioned Thai in relation to laws as the specific incident mentioned regards Thailand. Otherwise my post is very objective and can relate to any country that battles with corruption. If you are tired, I can´t care less about. Maybe you should consider following your own post and ignore, then. Or you can just leave it be and go on with your life, right? -

Didn´t you put me on ignore list? I though you mentioned that. If read all, you will find that I call on the faulty government and authorities as well. Means they have to take their part in this, for things to work. However, put me back on your list now. -
Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety
Gottfrid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Acted swiftly? This is starting to feel like reading a children book written in very hard language. This guy, has to go out and stop all school trips, only because of two idiotic reasons. First reason is the bus owner who believe they can do and get away with everything who are modifying their buses, use too old buses without thinking at all about the safety of their passengers. Second reason is the authorities and officials taking bribes to overlook the potential, which are no longer potential, risks and faults, age as well as modifications. Both parties say yippie and put more money in their pockets, while their evil decisions are killing people. Just because there are no upholding or enforcement of law in Thailand. The police do not know how to, or are totally incapable of doing a professional work. also here, they are sitting on their arses until something reach social media and creates a public storm or they get extra money for doing their work. In other words, also lining their pockets. He can be how influential he wish to be. He can present how many legislations and protocols he want. After that, once again, call for enforcement and compliance. Is he laughing all the way to the bank? The only thing that will work is to reform the whole system, apply harsher punishments for all from small to bigger crimes and make people do their work. For that to happen, they must first change the mindset of people, so they value life over money. After that, they must take away the dinosaurs, and find a non corrupted government who also look to the welfare and safety as well as living standards for their people before lining their own pockets. As we all realize, that is never going to happen. -
Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
Gottfrid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is a big problem, and it´s very good that they finally open up their eyes, about the fact soo many parents in Thailand are neglecting their children. However, this is not anything new, and they have been aware of the grand parents, aunts, sisters and other family members are bringing up the children. Especially the Thai schools, who see this fact on a daily basis. Now the problem comes up, just because we are talking money, that is something which brings out the most bad in people. Here comes the money sniffing absent parents, demanding more and more as they see an opening to a better life. Not at all about their children, as money can´t replace a child, more than in a money hungry mind without shame. They just want to rake in the dough. On the other side we have the authorities, that suddenly wake up and see the absent parents as a problem. Something we almost never hear about otherwise. Now it´s about money for them too, and they start to press on that being an absent parent and asking for more compensation will be a wrongful act. As right as they may be, it´s absolutely not the right time to bring such things up. Actually it´s the most bad timing ever. That shows that none of the sides, parents nor authorities have any feelings nor compassion. Looking at it from another perspective: Who must be the one to claim compensation? According to Thai laws, that must be the legal guardian, which in this case will be the parents. Seen from that perspective, there are no other persons or family members that are in position to claim compensation, as they do not have the legal authority to do so. That makes me wonder why the authorities react like they do, as they must also be fully aware of such facts. Looking from a moral aspect, it looks very bad that absent parent are included in the ones who make a run for claiming higher compensations. That makes it totally visible they were only in it for the money, and always saw their children as money cows they could milk later in life. A very sad fact, which has plagued Thailand for far too long time. All, comes down to a system that does not give nor protect older people, which only concentrate on submarines, fighter jets and though corruption lining their own pockets. So, why is it like this? Does it have to do with that people have no shame in their bodies, and money rules it all? Of course it has, which has been a problem for long time. There are also other factors, like the keystone cops, authorities and government, who should be leading with knowledge, intelligence and understanding. Looking at the information below, it sure looks like they doesn´t have a clue. What? They are probing a potential negligence of state officials? This is horrendous! They know very well, that there is no thing such as negligence here. It´s money talking again, and officials as well as authorities, well aware of what´s going on, taking the bribes and overlooking the faults and dangers. Just signing off, on a paper that led to over 20 school children burnt to death in an illegally modified and on inspection approved bus. -
British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
Gottfrid replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
I don´t know what you are trying to imply. That is would be dangerous for foreigners to ride a motorbike in Thailand? I assume you are not a rider, or maybe not even been trying to ride a bike. The problem, is the unexperienced riders that also think they are the king of the road with a couple of beers inside. But, just an unexperienced rider will be enough. For riders like me, and many other on this forum we do not have any problem riding bikes in Thailand. A little bit same as climbing Mount Everest, without even trying a practice climbing wall ever. It´s mindsets like that, which will get people hurt or worse. -
